Super Robot Wars

I'm curious as to whether anyone has heard of this strategy series created by Banpresto?

Super Robot Wars is basically throwing in at least 20+ mecha series (such as any of the Mobile Suit Gundams, Mazinger Z, Daitarn, Steel Jeeg, Macross, Robotech, etc.) into a game, mashing their plots together, and putting them on one big battlefield. It's rather awesome. :] Sounds messy, but it's played out rather beautifully.

The robots in the series are divided into two groups: Super Robots and Real Robots. Super Robots are your giant robots in present-day Earth, such as Mazinger Z, Mazinkaiser, Daitarn III, Dancougar, and Shin Getter Robo. Real Robots are mostly from series that have robots as commonplace and set in a war time era, such as the Gundam series and Macross. I'm not certain where Virtual-On and Evangelion place.

The latest game, Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, is the biggest game yet, featuring about 30 series! If you've looked at my profile you'll know that GaoGaiGar is my favorite; I'm looking forward to the appearances of the Z-Master, the Zonuda, the 11 Masters of Sol, and Genesic GaoGaiGar and the Goldion Crusher.

I wonder when Banpresto will reveal the originals, though.

yeah i know that game my brother always plays and he's waiting for alpha 3 now and i hope the put the new shin getter robo there cuz he's my favourite character there . but now i'm playin namco X capcom it's the same as SRW but when you have a battle u can do 5-6 six moves in combonations . u should try it it's really fun

I haven't just heard it. I love it.

Anyway, if any of you like SRW, then you might like Gundam GGeneration. It's basically the same as SRW, but only Gundam robots are there (figures :] ).

Namco X Capcom sounds interesting. I'll look into it.

I also prefer the Super Robots, though some of the Valkryies are great, too.

But Volfogg will always hold a special place in my heart. :]

Have you heard of the 4-koma manga anthologies? They're a collection of 4-panel comics. They're hilarious!
