.hack//G.U. -- New info!!

The newest installment of the .hack series has finally been officially announced at E3! .hack//G.U. (codenamed Project G.U. before E3 to conceal its identity) will have all new graphics (Looks like they were inspired by Narutimate Hero 2 a bit) and a completely different story! Gameplay difference has not been announced yet, and little to nothing is known about the characters and story.

They do have an awesome trailer up on the Japanese site! It is about 5 minutes long and you need to access it through IE. After watching it, there are many things I want to know. One thing is for sure; It looks badass.

To get to the trailer, go to the official site and click "ENTER". When the new window pops up, click where it says "Promotion". After that, choose the quality (500kps has a server problem at the moment, so you have to click 150kps), download the .asx file, then open it in Windows Media Player to watch it. Don't wait long, though, Ban Dai is going to take it down on the 27th!

UPDATE: Famitsu has confirmed a lot of stuff! Haseo is the main character's name and his nickname is the "Terror of Death". His nickname comes from the fact that he is a player killer hunter (Safe to say he got his pwn stuff from CCCorp) and not an AI. The Ura-Kite we see in the trailer's called "Tri-Edge", obviously coming from the fact that his weapon has 3 blades on it. G.U. stands for "Grow Up", which has twelve hidden meanings in the game. G.U. will expand beyond the game series, just like the old .hack did. Meaning, we may see a new manga or anime series : o.

Also, a secret .hack game has been in development!! Cyber Connect 2 is planning on releasing it before G.U. : o. They say that if check their site regularly, you might catch some info leaked about the game =P. Truely this is awesome news for us .hack fans =D.

Not downloading the trailer right now, but it does look very cool. :O A lot more hardcore looking than the original. Hopefully it won't be solid hack and slash gameplay :( Nevertheless, I'm just glad one of my all time favorite series isn't dead yet. :O

I figured that was what that was. It looked like either a severely modded or corrupted Kite. :< The new guy looks kinda cool, I guess. But he lacks that geeky coolness that Kite had. >> ...(....tales of legendia... but not tales of rebirth....namco needs to die, now.)

People are saying it is supposed to be released either on the holidays or Spring of 2006... Also, in the trailer, it looked different. Like it said something else instead of Guilty Universe... I don't know... Anyway, I heard there is also a new class. It's called gunner I beleive and some people are thinking it's going to be online... I don't know about the online part, but I highly doubt it.

It looks really frickin sweet. Also you can tell this guy is like.... a Lvl 1000 (yes I made that up) kinda guy... but got sent stright to Lvl.1 when he was Data Drained. My quetsion is how did he survive???

Also I really hope thoes cartoonish sound affects are not in the game

Well, the new guy looks cool, and everything else does too. Only problem for me is that he appears to be a Twin Blade like Kite. I kinda want to play as a different class...

Hm. Watched the trailer, and it does in fact look like A.I.D.A. was taken down a few notches by the glitched Kite. They seem to lack creativity for new sotryline concepts >_>; But I'm not complaining, this game looks like it might actually have a fast-paced edge to it. Perhaps a reflexive battle system rather than a select target and hack at it until you're an old geezer. >> << I like twinblades ;_;

I saw the trailer as well. I thought it looked cool but kind of dark. I'm not sure if I'll ever actually like anything outside of the first 3 PS2 games and The "Legend Of The Twilight" series. :]

4 Gives no data flag because this is apparently not a sequel. Now, regardless of AIDA being an A.I. or a player, /it/ is illegal. You're asking too many questions that cannot be answered by anyone but the makers of the game at this point. =/
