How about a jump function, so that we can just jump to certain pages. For example, I wanted to go to page 12 and I start at page 20, this is what I see below:
Goto page Previous 1, 2, 3 ... 19, 20, 21 ... 27, 28, 29 Next
To get to page 12, I have to click on some more links (by clicking Previous lots of times, start on Page 3 then work my way up, etc.). If we can jump to certain pages, it could save some time... Am I making sense here...?
I believe nobody has suggested this before. If someone already did, then just ignore this. It's just a suggestion :] . _________________ My deviantART... |

I like that too, but I think that is hard coded into the forum. Many other similarly coded forums do not have such a feature. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I was thinking about this earlier. It could be like
Go To Page [12] [Go!] _________________

You can compromise a bit by guessing which number reply is the one you're looking for and replace that number in the URL. I don't think you can get a 404 that way unless you pick a number greater than the amount of replies in that thread. |

yes, but that would reguire a memory
I don't really see why people use that arguement. It requires keeping track of alot of topic tracking. Or alot of one guessing _________________

Extending on Raijin's idea:
If you know the page you want to go, subtract one, then multiply by twenty. Replace the last number in the url (that is close to "start=") with the number you calculated. Make sure that when you start, you start anywhere but the first page of the thread.
That should work. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! From Television City in Hollywood! It's time to 'Press Your Luck!'--Rod Roddy
