Ooh, look!
Starman can make E3 topics too!
Didn't go to E3 like Josu or anything like that, but I've been able to get some information for Advance Wars: Double Strike for anyone who's interested and hasn't gotten it themselves yet (or, we can just discuss it instead XD).
Here's the new info that's been revealed from E3.
All of the COs from Advance Wars 2 except for Sturm are returning. (That includes Nell and Hachi)
There's a total of 9 new COs not counting any secret characters that might appear.
Two new Orange Star COs
Four new black Hole COs
One new CO each for Green Earth, Blue Moon and Yellow Comet
In addition to buying alternate colors, you can now also buy alternate outfits for your COs.
You can have up to 8 player wireless battles now using the tag team system, and apparently only one copy of the game.
Coming out in August... not too far after my Birthday
Hope some other people are looking forwards to it as much as I am.

Cool! I hope it comes here soon.
By the way, which are your favorite COs? My two favorites are Sonja and Grit. _________________ My deviantART... |

Sonja and Grit are some of my favorites too... in addition to them Drake, Colin, Andy and Lash are some of my favorites.
I like pretty much all of them though... except for Jess, I always find her really boring...
As for teams...
A Grit and Sonja team would be fun with fog. Increase your vision, then snipe them to death (Hopefully, If they remembering their interaction from Advance Wars 1, they'll get a double CO power...)
Eagle and Drake could be interesting...
Even though their powers would cancel the other out, since they don't actually play on the same turn except for Double CO Powers, switching between then a lot would be quite useful...
And even if their abilities neutralize each other in their double turn, their CO powers would be effective together. |

Too bad about Sturm, he was awesome to play as and had a really nice Darth Vader look going.
As for the Double COs, I can't imagine a better team than Max and Grit; together they provide range or movement bonuses and major attack bonuses to all major combat units. It's too bad Sturm is gone, cause I'd add Sturm and Drake too; Drake summons the rain, which damages and slow enemies, but has no effect on Sturm's mighty force.
Actually, it occurs to me that there's been no mention so far of how this tag-team setup is going to be handled. Do you have two different armies controlled by a single income, and recieving the bonuses of only one CO at a time? Or do you get the bonuses from both COs regardless of who you have active in the battle? _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Quick question; Shouldn't it be called DS Wars? I mean, the Wars games are supposed to take the name of what console their on <.<; (Such as Famicom Wars, Super Famicom Wars, and Gameboy Wars). Same goes for the Gamecube one : o. _________________

I belive it's called Famicom Wars DS in Japan, but over here it's keeping the Advance Wars name for the sake of brand recognition and stuff, since Advance Wars was the only one that ever came out here.
In case people haven't seen it, here's all the new CO art...
http://www.nintendo.com/artworkgallery?
gameid=634c263c-2554-4117-9c21-ee00cd721c11
going in the order they appeear on the list... (from left to right)
The guy with the moustache, green jacket and armor is Grimm, the new Green Earth CO.
The woman with the flame shaped hair and black outfit is Kindle, one of the new Black Hole COs.
The creepy ninja with makeup is either named Koal or Juggler, and is another Black Hole CO.
The fat guy who looks kinda like Eggman is Javier, the new Yellow Comet CO.
The old man with the life support thing is Von Bolt, the third of the new Black Hole COs.
The kid with the headphones is Jake, the new male Orange Star CO.
The orange haired girl in the red outfit is Rachel, the new female Orange Star CO.
The long haired girl in the Blue Moon uniform is Colin's sister Sasha, who's the new Blue Moon CO.
The robot is either named Juggler or Koal (whichever the ninja isn't) and is the last of the new Black Hole COs.
So, what's everyone's opinion on the new characters so far?
I really like the overall style for the series and I've always liked most of the characters in each game, so I'm not really surprised at all that I like nearly all of them in this one.
Only design I'm not too fond of is Kindle, which seems a bit odd compared to the others (but, she does fit Black Hole's overall style very well).
I'm interested in seeing what their powers are... so far, only Jake and Rachel and Javier have any specific information for their abilities... (Rachel heals more on cities/bases, Jake has some sort of terrain ability that's kinda like an opposite version of Lash and Javier has high attack and low defense.) Sasha and the robot have been mentioned too, but just the overall idea of their abilities (the robot's sounds similar to Flak and Sasha has a money ability, like Colin does.)
With some of the themes they have going, I look forwards to seeing what sort of things they can do in battle. (Particarily Von Bolt, his design makes it look like the most he can do is hit someone over the head with his life support and then fall over dead )
My favorite designs are the ninja, Javier and Von Bolt.
I like the ninja because of it's uniqueness, not only in how it looks but how it compares to most ninja characters in games not exclusively about them.
Von Bolt isn't the kind that'd be likely to make me think he's really cool or anything, but I think it's a really great design overall for what they're going for and has me very interested in what sort of role he'll play.
Javier I think'll be my favorite of the new characters... He sounds like he'll be a really likable character, his ability is easy to use from the sounds of things and his personality sets up for some funny interaction between him and the other three COs.
So... what does everyone else think? |

They're all lookin pretty good, although I'm a tad dissapointed that they made the mighty Kanbei look like a tired old man, and Adder went from being a sly snake to Edward Scissorhands. That aside, It'll be interesting to see if they make Rachel and Jake counterparts of Andy and Sami; the overall looks of the characters are very similar; Andy/Jake and Sami/Rachel tag teams perhaps?
I have a feeling that Von Bolt is the one behind Black Hole's new inventions (like the sattelite shown in Nintendo Power), his floating chair looks like a similar design.
To be honest, although I'm interested in seeing what powers the new COs have, I'm eager to see more of those new units. That triple-tank juggernaut I've seen looks like it might replace the NeoTank as the game's most powerful weapon, and that stealth bomber and aircraft carrier also look appealing. Anybody seen any new ones beyond those three? _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Got some new info.
There's six new units in total apparently, Which are mixed between land, air, sea and other things. They range from purely support, to some really powerful sounding offensive units.
There's the Mega tank, which is a super powerful tank (even moreso than Neotanks) but has pitiful movement.
The next is the Piperunner. The article didn't have any info on it's abilities, but it can only move on pipes, which makes me interested in what kind of power it'd have with a limitation like that...
The Stealth Fighter is a new air unit, which sounds even better than a bomber. It can go in to stealth mode like a Submarine, but unlike a Submarine it can attack air, sea and land units has apparently it has high attack power. It sounds like it's really weak to fighters though and it takes up a lot of fuel.
The Black Bomb sounds quite a bit different from other units.
It's a kamikaze unit that you direct to an area, then it explodes and damages everything around it. Similar to a rocket from the sounds of things.
The Black Boat is like the lander, except it can repair units next to it.
Finally, There's the Carrier.
It it's an air unit with the long range anti-air ability of the Missle and it can carry two Fighter units inside of it. Sounds like it's pretty much made to be a counter for the Stealth Fighter.

Reminds me of the Rail Turtle from Super Famicom Wars. It could only move on railroad tracks, but it was ridiculously powerful and could carry several units.
Anyway, since I need to justify spending 200 bucks on a DS, and Advance Wars is a great series, I'm definitely getting this game. |

^_^ This is one of the reasons I bought a DS. The dual-screen battles look amazing, and I like some of the new COs, specifically Rachel and Von Bolt. XD
The Piperunner's probably going to be ridiculously powerful. XD _________________

Just a tiny bit of info, but it looks like Von Bolt is the new Black Hole leader, that took over after Sturm kicked the bucket.
I should have some info on all of the new COs soon
Edit: Also got a look at the Black Bomb, Black Boat and Piperunner.
The Black Bomb is an air unit, which looks sort of like a satellite, with three large missles stuck to the front.
The Black Boat looks like a submarine, but it has claws and has a different shape from the Advance Wars submarine.
Finally, the Piperunner looks like one of the cannon obstacles would probably look like if it had a battle sprite, sitting on a pipe.
Edit yet again: Upon closer inspection, it looks like the carrier's actually a sea unit, rather than air.
That should give Drake a definate advantage in battle, since he now basically has his own super anti-air |

...Wait, what?
[spoil:2a5a7aa844]Hawke was the one who killed Sturm and took over Black Hole in AW2. It was confirmed that he took leadership because they had a few lines of him convincing the other COs to join him.[/spoil:2a5a7aa844] If so, then wouldn't Hawke be the new Black Hole leader? _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Apparently not...
[spoil:d5bcd988e9]My guess is that, if they address that issue, Hawke will either still plan to take over, or will have proven to be an ineffective leader and the others will chose Bolt over him[/spoil:d5bcd988e9] |

What I find odd is these sky battles. I mean all I saw was a pic of 4 fighter jets against 4 other fighter jets above the clouds. There was also some kinda Huge Sky Base. |
