Actually, Dr. Light's full name is Thomas Xavier Light. I can't seem to remember Dr. Wily's middle name, though.

I think he called him X just because...it sounds cool. Most people name improved versions of previous cerations the same name with an X at the end. This could be a reason. I don't know why, though.

The correct name is Thomas Alva Edison, as LBD_Nytetrayn already indicated. A simple Google search of "Thomas Edison" would have told you that.

In Japan, Dr. Light is Dr. Right. This is due to the L/R being the same basic sound in Japan, as I recall. Hence the term "Engrish."
In Mega Man 1, Mega Man's creator was known as Dr. Wright, a localization seemingly based on a mistranslation of the name used in Japan, before Right's symbol was revealed.
In Mega Man 2, they changed it to Light for some unexplained reason, and it's remained as such to this day.
Wily has never been called "Dr. Wrong" except either by someone making fun of his lesser status next to Dr. "Right," or by the biggest idiot I've never met.
And if I'm not mistaken, "Xavier" is a fan name.
I do believe Wily has been officially given the middle initial "W," though.

Yesterday i found a rockman old manga in indonesian translation in junk store and there Dr Wily called Dr Wrong :!
