Uhm... first of all, if you're going to do a post about which version you prefer, please explan why, otherwise it does fall under the cathegory of blantant spam.
The "VS" kind of posts tend to turn into flame wars often by one reason or another. I'll leave this post open for now, but I warn you, any dub -english version- bashing sparks in and I'll lock the thread.
AND, a warning for certain members, if someone -does- bash the anime dub, do me and yourselves a favor, DON'T, I repeat, DO NOT reply nor bash back how 'anime bashing is against the rules'. PM me or any of the other mods/admins to handle it.
That said, Kaito, you better provide -without bashing the dub- the reasons that make you like the Japanese version the more, otherwise this would be considered spam. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Japanese voice action always seem likely to choose the right person for their character, while the Dub try alittle bit too hard for finding the voice actors (and I liked Dr. Hikari's dub voice very well) let's take example, Al from Full Metal Alchemist, his dub counterpart is a little deep.... (wait till you see him in the game). Ed's voice sounds kinda cocky on his dub counterpart, Al's voice in his Japanese counterpart is quite childish but it fit's his age, Ed's voice sounds more like a.... person than a 24/7 pissed of person....
While the dub sometimes take out the cool parts... _________________ JOIN MY FORUM BEFORE I HUNT YOU DOWN... The site is http://the_otakuv_village.myfreeforum.org/index.php

Uhmm... and what does Full Metal Alchemist's dub has to do with Megaman NT Warrior? If you were trying to generalize this to -any- anime, you could have done that in the anime, manga and videogames section. Either explain things within the topic at hand or I'll have to lock this. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Well I like the Original version better because I just love how the music and background music for one. The BG music is so catchy and it fits the moment so many times and when they start using the wordless version of a intro like the EXE OP or Axess OP and Stream WHOOO! its really great to hear them since they give the scene that dramatic feel while the dub really doesnt do that IMO. I like the names in the original version better than the dub names for another reason and I like the original version voices to although it took me a little bit to get used to Count Elecs VA (OH MY GOD! XD).
In terms of battles and scene since the original version has no edits at all while the dub does thats another reason why I like the original version including the scenes and jokes that are in it but are cut in the dub.
and thats why I like the Japanese Rockman EXE Better than the dub. |

...shall I, then? >>;;;
Actually, I believe most of my lure for watching the original lies in the fact that you can't understand the language, thus you are less likely to shrivel up and die when your parents come along and glance at it. My reason, anyways. :P English voice acting isn't forceful enough at the right times, too much so at the wrong ones-for NT anyways-the conversation between Raika and Lan in the beginning of Search Soul episode sounded like children squabbling, due to a bit of too much emphasis on weak vocabulary on both parts. Otherwise, I've noticed that when English characters speak their parts, most of the time it seems forced.
Of course, that could be true for the Japanese as well, but seeing as how I can't understand their language...:P But judging by the voice inflections, Japanese characters sound far more real.
There is also the issue of background music, which I'd have to go with the original on. Perhaps it could be my tendency towards nostalgia, but whatever the reason, I cried during the original episode 22's battle, as well as the end. I laughed at NT. There is no comparison between the music of the original and NT's lame techno, for me. I suppose the fact that the original OPs were killed off, is also a sore point.
Otherwise? Dub censorship and the English names I never really got used to. I like them well enough in the games, but every time I hear 'Chaud Blaze' I want to crawl in a hole (note the -BMA <<;). I guess it's the speaking of them out loud that gets to me in that aspect. I know that English speakers could never pronounce 'Netto' correctly and not have it sound forced-Japanese-ish, but the Navi name changes just sound stupid to me, even if WB had some semblance of a reason for them. Which leads us to the topic of censorship and cutting-they took swords and made them into glowing popsicles, renamed the most nostalgic weapons of my BN gaming experiences due to American TV mentality, and killed off episode 20 of EXE. :P I don't see a point.
I'll stick with the originals, thank you.

I would too. I apologize in advance if I am dub-bashing.
To tell you the truth, I started out, before I came here, watching the dub religiously. As an avid player of the games, I thought the anime was a logical step for me. After watching the dub for a while, I came here, and I found that the originals were about, so I began to watch what I could.
The main reason that I find that I prefer the original is that it seems a lot more continuous than its American counterpart. Even if nothing is cut out, I find that the Japanese version simply seems to flow a tad better. The language is also something that draws me in. Call it a gulity pleasure of mine, but I like dubbing my own lines into shows that are in languages I do not know nor understand. This dubbing of mine allws me to have a bit more freedom in the storyline, since the dub has been translated down to a set storyline, governed by the dialogue.
I hope that made sense. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! From Television City in Hollywood! It's time to 'Press Your Luck!'--Rod Roddy

Alright, I'm going to have to take a stand here. When you back up WHY you prefer the japanese version over the american dub. USE the elements of the Japanese version that attract you, rather than point out the parts of the dub that you dislike or find 'unnecesary'.
While nobody has yet bashed the dub 'blantantly', the posts in here are merely basing a preference on the Japanese based on the lacks of the dub, rather than in the virtues of the Original version, which kind of defeats the point of backing up your preferences. That's like saying you'd watch the Dub and prefer it if it was identical in Japanese sans the japanese language. >_>;a _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

I'm not sure what I prefer more.
I mean, I like the music in the japanese version and the voices are awsome. Even if I have no idea what they're saying.
But I also like the dub, because it's what got me into the whole series in the first place. And I know what they're saying. ^^;
So...yeah. I just like them both. o.o; _________________ This signature is real! |

This outta be good.
Well, anyone who knows me from this forum knows I LIKE THE ENGLISH VERSION. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! There are things I like about both the english version AND the Japanese version. Now, I first saw the anime on Kids WB, and LOVED it and at that time I knew next to nothing about the EXE series at all. So I decided to go out, buy and beat the three MMBN games that were already out (that I had learned of in the past) as well as the GCN game. I loved seeing so many old Megaman characters in a new futuristic version of themself, I became as obsessed with the series as I once was with Pokemon. Eventually, I found this site, learned of the original japanese version, and for a short while, became your typical DEATH-2-4KIDS! type of n00bish fan. But I continued to watch the english version anyhow, despite already buying the entire Japanese version of the first show on DVD and loving every second of it.
Now, obviously I like the Japanese version because of all of the things that people have listed in this topic already, so I'll skip that and get to why I like the english version. Now, I KNOW not many agree with me on this, but I've always LOVED the voice talent of Ocean Studios. Yeah, so sometimes the lines are a little corny, dialogue will seemed forced, etc. But these're voices I've been listening to for years now. Even if their abilities aren't perfectly portrayed through MMNTW, I've heard them on other shows, US and Japanese alike, and I know that they're truly good proffesionals. Edits and cuts I can deal with, on ANY show just about. Mostly because the small ones don't phase me too much and the heavy ones are so BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that I can see right through them. Changes that're made I understand are made for obvious reasons, but actually, in a few cases (sometimes other than just on MMNTW) changes can be BETTER for a situation in my opinion. For instance, I actually liked how Silk died in the english version than I did in Japanese, but that might've been a difference case, since it was my first time seeing that episode AT ALL, and so it may've had more of an emotional impact on me, even though I knew a few things about what happened in the original already.
So, yeah there are negatives that come with the dub. I HIGHLY doubt Megaman will ever get an uncut dub like many lucky animes in the past, even though it'd be really cool. But to sum it up, I like different things about the Japanese and the english version.
To be perfectly honest, the only REAL problem I have with ANYTHING regarding the dub, is HOW MUCH PEOPLE ENDLESSLY COMPLAIN AND WHINE ABOUT IT. But I guess it's its own. |

Mmm... I just think this will turn out bad, but whatever, I'm stating my opinion. I don't what anyone says. Personal opinions on the dub shouldn't count as bashing it. If some one asks for your opinion, then you have the right to state it. Though, you should try not to go over board.
I prefer the original version. My reasons are;
-I like the Japanese names more.
-The music is cooler.
-I don't like watching editted anime.
-I don't like the majority of English scripting in anime (Excluding those of Ban Dai and Geneon).
-Name changes annoy me in any situation, especially if they're poorly chosen.
-I personally think the voices chosen do not fit the characters at all.
-I dispise corny jokes. I find the humor in the original to be much more entertaining.
If you don't like my opinion, though, get over it.

Hai, Planty XD
As for show quality in general, EXE has several things going in its favor. One, the characters' voice acting was far better than what I'd heard before, in English (Pokemon for one :P). The characters actually sound like they're not reading from a script and adding necessary emphasis where they see fit, but really in the action. This is judging by voice tone, as I didn't understand Japanese the last time I checked <<; Second, the music is awesome, and fully in syncro with actions and events in the show, provoking moods effectively without the watcher even taking too much notice of it. I refer to EXE 20 as a particularly potent example.
I suppose the fact that I started my fangirl career as a Japanophile has something to do with it as well <<;;

If you do believe it will turn out bad, why do you reply to it, then? You're free to state your opinion alright, I think everyone has excercised that right. But If you consider something negative is going to come from a thread, by all means, ignore it, it makes no more good if you enter the thread with such disposition.
