11.a. You are allowed to post the first page or issue of your comic and then a link to the site that you is hosting your comic in the thread. Further advertizing of a comic can only be done in your signature. |
So...no more posting comics.
Kaito, please don't point out that you have a comic, that's a form of advertising. _________________

If my monitor wasn't so dark, I think they would've burned my eyes.
The shape of the PET looks pretty accurate, it's just missing the little handle thing at the side. You might also want to change the colors to not make them so vivid. Example, Lan's blue should be a little darker, as well as Chaud's. Meiru's needs to be more PINK than PURPLE. And they could use some shading to make it look more 3D than just flat 2D. |

You can double post when you have an update...but not when the update and your previous post are 6 minutes apart. You could have edited your post because I can assure you your post was still on the top of the page. Just please try not to do it again.
Infact...here is the section from the rules saying so:
The Rules wrote: | 7. If you are the creator of a thread you are allowed to double post only if you are updating the thread with a new piece of work, this update must also meet the time requirement. If your prior post is less then a few hours old, meaning one day, you are not allowed to post a new comment. Instead just edit your previous post and alter the topic, or just wait till you are allowed to post again under time requirements. |

You want tips, well I have some for you... and you may not like what I am about to say, as I am going to start from the top of this thread and work my way down it.
Okay, the comic, that my young fellow needs some work done to it on a grand scale. First I will start with the frame set up that you are using, which appears to be the one that you can get from the Bob and George site as part of their tutorial program, and that is fine. What isn't is that large blank space that you have under it and the glaring brightness of the colors used for the foreground and background. My advice there is to use a darker color for the sky that isn't so eye jarring and a color for the ground that actually looks like it should be the floor of something.
But wait, don't go just yet, there is more!
The problem with your comic is that it lacks a proper background. But you have a background you might say, but it is not fitting with the sprites that you are using. The sprites you are using are those from the Rockman.EXE (Megaman BattleNetwork), and a proper background would be one from the game itself. This will give you a plane to put your characters on that they will fit into better. Next we will talk about the word bubbles you are using. Now I know that you most likely put some work into them, but frankly they aren't that good. For a good example of what a word bubble should look like open up a comic or manga near you and look at what is used there. Now that you have seen that you should see what you should try to emulate in your comic as to the word bubbles.
Now, on to the other work here in this thread I think that OSD summed things up best with his comment so I will leave it at that. _________________

There are other places that you can go to get backgrounds other the Sprites INC., those places you just have to search for or pester someone on another site about that has sprites. Also please attempt grammar and such when posting, it IS a rule here. _________________

A great place for backgrounds is www.bghq.com
Now then... your comic looks very muddy, but I'd blame that more on the JPEG-ness of it. Try a more friendly format like PNG, or if you can figure out how to make the JPEG look better, more power to ya. The text looks all weird. this is probably because you put the text on first and not the background. If you're going to do text that way, I suggest you put the background on first. I have no idea why, but it does make it look better. That or just fill in your word boxes - on a more personal note, I think word bubbles look better, and there's a tool in paint right next to the box that'll do the trick - with white. Yeah, and the border between frames two and three isn't very noticeable if it's even existant... :/ that and not all the frames are the same size... not a big deal really, but kinda awkward looking. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Dude, to get 'em the same size, just copy and paste the first frame. :/ It's a lot easier to do when you put backgrounds in, as all the backgrounds are the same size. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

When I made sprite comics in the past what I would do it make sets with the backgrounds. What this means is that I would take an empty strip and put a background in there to that size and then follow frame by frame with backgrounds related to that. Such as if I wanted to have one of a starships interior I would have different ones already in place to be used later. I also made some in order so that when I did actions, such as running, it would look like the background is scrolling past along with the characters. This helps in making good sprite comics, as well as comics in general. It is also a good idea to have different sprites for your characters to show motion, if you have only one for running then it can look really bland and like the character isn't moving. _________________
