...I mean, why does Meiru need a "Rush" Synchro chip to cross-fuse with Roll?
Netto doesn't need it, he just uses his normal Synchro chip and that's that.
But why does she need Rush? Can't she just cross-fuse directly using a normal chip? _________________ Rafflesian's biggest fan! :D |

Well, from a writer's point of view, they probably did this so Meiru couldn't just Cross Fuse whenever she wanted; instead, she had to track Rush down and trick him into turning into the chip. Plus, that screentime to trick Rush is good for filling time instead of having to use it on well choreographed fight scenes... or story...
As for from the point of view of the characters in the story, I really can't figure out why Meiru needs the Rush Synchro Chip. Maybe Rush lowers the required synchro rate so that less powerful people can fuse? I don't know... because, if you think about it, Meiru is fusing with both Roll -and- Rush, as opposed to just one cyber program... that should require MORE of a synchro rate. _________________

Don't forget Meiru also gains Rush's abilities as well, which allowed her to defeat Desertman last week.
The Rush Synchro Chip SHOULD allow Meiru to Cross Fuse without the aid of a Dimensional Area, as this is what happened when Shademan used it. They have yet to let Meiru use it in such a scenario as of yet though. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. Coming to think of it, Rush is the only digital entity which does not require a Dimentional Area... Right after its prequel Rockman EXE in the episode involving a cat virus. XD
Makes me curious what is so special with Rush... |

The problem with that theory is, that, if it was true, it WOULD have worked with Dekao and Gutsman...but it didn't.

Well, you see...Rush has a stronger friendship with Roll and Meiru than Dekao and Gutsman. So I guess that's why Rush doesn't fit in Dekao well
Probably the producer had suddenly decided to change the storyline a bit by allowing Meiru chan to cross fuse in order to make Stream more popular...so they uses the Rush chip to explain why Meiru chan wasn't able to cross fuse with a normal synchro chip in Axess when she is now able to so in Stream. I am rather disappointed that the animators didn't change the design of the CF Roll... >_<
I guess Meiru chan can actually just cross fuse with a normal Synchro chip too but in Axess Roll was too shocked to do it at that time.

Wasn't the reason for her unsuccessful Cross Fusion with Netto's chip because it was his chip and it was adjusted to his body? _________________

Netto, Enzan, Raika, Telsa and Yuriko's chip wasn't made to adjust to their body in the first place anyway. . . -_-; Netto collasped after his first CF . |

Hmm... well, the first time Netto used his, we were actually there to see it. We don't know HOW many times Enzan, Laika, Tesla, and Yuriko used theirs before they made their Cross Fusion appearance. And... perhaps the SynchroChips adjust themselves to the person using it after multiple uses, as opposed to being made for that specific person. However... if this is true... why didn't Meijin make a normal SynchroChip to begin with? I betcha all of these answers were actually explained in 28 when this all started... except no one caught it (you know... being in Japanese and all). _________________

Don't forget that back in Axess when Meiru first tried, Roll was against the idea. They weren't in synch, thus it ultimately failed. The second attempt in Stream, Roll was ready and willing to fight. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. But he had realized the SECOND before transforming in this episode that he made a stupid move, so wouldn't that've rendered the synch invalid? |

I think that Rush synchro chip is some kind of power boost for Meiru and Roll because they have the strong synch level, but not as strong as Netto and Rockman synch level. So in other word, Meiru is only 2nd rank in synchronizing navi and Netto, Enzan, and Laika are 1st ranks of synchronizing their navis. I think the reason for Meiru to have a Rush synchro chip, is to increase maintainance in cross fusion and it may only work for her (or Netto) because they have strong relationship. I know why Rush doesn't like the ideal for two reason and one of them isn't pretty at all. :/ _________________ I was Heromanexe, but now transform into HUB!

Personally I think it's more or less a a minor inconsistancy they hope the viewers will overlook, and it probably happens in other animes too. When Cross Fusion was first introduced, it was a kind of very special ability that only the top class characters could do. However, over time these abilities become more and more general.
Think back to the original EXE, where it took quite a few episodes before Netto and Rockman could master the Program Advance. It was regarded as a very difficult and awesome power to wield to the point it was almost mythical. But as episodes passed they became more common. Now just about anyone can do a Program Advance. Not only that, but now there are even Navis who are powerful enough to not be completely destroyed by a Program Advance.
So for a while, Netto was pretty good at monopolizing the Cross Fusion department, albeit Enzan naturally had to get in on the action too. Misaki got to Cross Fuse a little bit, but his excuse was that he needed a Dark Synchro Chip, which really did a number on his psyche. Curiously, Yuriko and Regal seemed more or less unaffected. Laika eventually gets into the Cross Fusion scene too, despite that he claimed to think it was stupid. We don't question his skill however, he and Searchman are certainly powerful as far as the anime goes.
Now the writers decided Meiru should be able to Cross Fuse, but they still don't want her to be on the same level as Netto. Afterall, Roll isn't supposed to be that great at net battling (albeit that's more of a game thing). The Rush ordeal is useful because Rush already contains an inexplainable ability to enter the real world and Meiru/Roll have a vague connection with him. Using this, Meiru can now Cross Fuse, but we don't see her as exactly equal to Netto because she needs a stepping stone (though her skill against Desertman was quite impressive and, IMO, a little exaggerated).
Pretty soon we're going to have another "Cross Fusion Member," and knowing what hints the anime has dropped already, I don't think it's going to end there. |

If I recall correctly. The Rush Synchro Chip was 'created' when Yuuichirou elluded Dekao on his original request to cross fusion. Meijin probably decided it was easier to just adjust Rush to transform at will into the Synchro Chip, than build up a new one from scratch.
As for Rush having to be willing for the cross fussion/sync to occur, I don't think Rush's will plays a part into the effects of the chip. Remember he wasn't willing one bit when he was turned into chip and used by Shademan.
Overall I agree with Ryo that she was givent he rush synchro chip to avoid transforming at will any time she wanted. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Err. Do I need to remind you that Rush wears a Synchro Chip on a necklace? When he turns into Rush Synchro Chip he just gets adsorbed into the SynchroChip data.
My guess is that Rush helps digital material to materialize more easily than the old synchro chip, but that doesn't mean you don't need a very high synchro rate, rather that your Navi needs to be not as strong as it was supposed to be to be able to crossfuse with. Sorta like, Synchrochip generates a certain amount of energy for the crossfusion, the Rush SynchroChip generates even more.
Think about Axess 1, Misaki was able to crossfuse with Prisman since there was enough power generated, he and Prisman were strong enough to force themselves to make the chip work (notice how hard Misaki was trying), but then Misaki's body abilities went down dangerously, because the two weren't in sync.
When Meiru used the Synchro Chip the first time in Axess, it didn't work because of the low synchro rate between Roll and her, because Roll wasn't even trying and because of the little power generated.
When then Dekao used the Rush Synchro Chip, there was a LOT more power generated (DEKAO GO BOOM!), and even if he tried with all his strenght, the synchro rate wasn't good enough for the two. He couldn't even force the crossfusion to work, hence the failure.
When Meiru instead used it, there was a much higher synchro ratio (Mejin was AMAZED from their synchro rate, remember?) and the power generated from the chip allowed her to crossfuse.
Rush doesn't like to turn into a RushSynchroChip because he turns into a part of R-Roll along with Roll, making him get damage and draining his energy as well (notice how both Meiru and Rush were tired after the battle against Videoman).
Wow, I sure wrote a lot XD. Just my opinion on the topic, really. <.< _________________ SPOILER:
