Seeing all these anime and manga style pictures, AIM icons, etc I have wondered if there was an anime of the series. Anyone know anything?

A cartoon I wouldn't be surprised at, but I don't see there being much of a chance for an anime...
But yeah, that stuff's all fanart.
A lot of Japanese Harry Potter fans seem to like drawing the characters in anime style.

Considering J.K. Rowling made whatever effort possible to make the HP movies as brittish as possible (including casting UK actors/actresses, keeping the set ups at London and not at USA as the WB producers wanted, etc) I hardly think an anime version of HP is ever going to happen. Maybe a brittish cartoon, but not an anime. >>

the one thing i dont like about the movies is that it removes parts from the books.
For example: After the chest trial in the Philosepher stones movie, there should have been another test, a potion test made by prof Snape.

I would only agree with a cartoon if it doesnt cut out anything.
An anime is a definite no no.

And friend of ours (Meg and I) had a manga based on Harry Potter, but it was about his father's time in Hogwarts and revolved around the conflict between James Potter and Severus Snape. There was probably some "high school romance" plot with Lilly as well. Unfortunately, it wasn't translated into English, so all that any of us could do was look at the pretty pictures. No, I don't suppose it would be easy to convince J.K. Rowling, but it would be a far less limited medium. Anime doesn't skimp on blood or terror. The Wizard of Oz could benefit from an anime translation, now that I think about it. And since it could be an OVA, length of the translation wouldn't be an issue. An entire book, plus extra, could go into an OVA format, no problem. What better way to release the monstrously large 4th and 5th novels?

Kage Donbo, creator of DiGi Charat, is actually famous among fans for her gorgeous HP doujinshis and fanart. I love the way she draws Hermione!

Now, back on topic. I wouldn't mind seeing an HP anime. I love the anime style (epsecially in Yami no Matusei) and would love to see what Harry would look like in that style. Though my friend is conviced that he looks like Trowa Barton... (because i started writing a GW/HP crossover ^^; Wink

If there was an HP anime, I would definitely watch it.

I like anime...I like Harry Potter.

However, I would religously stabbed my eyes if anime-style raped Harry Potter.

It looks like it came from a Gundam series, really. Though the guy resembles Harry in an uncanny way. Maybe he's grown up to be a scientist or something?
