How come in the Anime Bass still has his scar like he does in the manga yet he was supposed to have been created by the death of Pharaohman and nothing has happened to him since that day. So what is up with that?

It is just a design in the Show I guess.

I truly don't recall, but was Bass's scar explained in the games either? Considering his design was made for the games, not the anime or manga, that should be enough evidence to indicate that the scar originally had no real purpose other than to look cool... the manga just decided to give it a use. I guess it's sort of like Axl's face scar in MMX... was it ever given any reason for existence? I don't think so... but it looks pretty rad.

Forte's backstory is the same in the games and manga, I believe. Apart from maybe Cossack, not sure about him.

Yes, Cossack exists in the Manga. His story is the same as the game. Of course, in the manga, we get to see nice Forte. XD

I think near the end of Battle Network 3 we see Forte say something about his scar. I dont recall exactly but its another reason for his revenge on humans. I do remember the scar being shown when Cossak goes into the Net to try and stop Bass :stonecube:

The following is marked for spoilers Neutral

[spoil:8575f88182]Forte/Bass's scar came from when he was attacked by hords of Navis. Scientests, minus Cossack, found Forte too dangerous and advanced so they sentanced him to deletion. Forte ended up destroying all the Navis, but before he did one of them sliced his Navi Symbol, hence where the scar came from. I've noticed that it was after he was sliced that he went insane and evil.[/spoil:8575f88182]

My guess is that since the anime is promotion for the games they left the scar in there. Kinda dumb if you ask me.

I thought they expected you to think that the scar is just his symbol in the show.

it could be that when pharoman was destroyed his data for the symbol was totaly destroyed so that when forte was regenerated is symbol was like that

Manga does give the best explaination for it. I don't recall the games ever making mention of it, but I assume Forte received it as battle damage sometime after leaving Cossack.

As for the anime, I figure the scar is there just for the sake of continuity. There's technically really no real point for him to have it, although one probably could reason that it came as a result of being derived from Pharoman's data.

Yeah, probably. Or someone was just too lazy to change it.

Actually, if I remember correctly his symbol is, or was, an "F" after the "forte" symbol used in music. It was just obliterated once the scar was given to him. Or...that's if I remember correctly, anyway; if I knew where my Vol. 6 of the manga was, I could doublecheck that in his backstory ><;

EDIT: Found it! ....Right after I posted this originally -_-; Anyway, I scanned in one of the better shots I could find of his Navi symbol before the battle happened.

Yes, his symbol was an 'f'. Check it out here.

Just scroll down, and there it is! I fill very sorry for Forte, being betrayed by humans. I begin to ponder, if he healed that scar, would his original symbol be there. Sorry if this is off- topic, but I would like to apologize to the Mods and Admins for that I keep posting nothing but very long comments. I like to be constructive. :p -_-; -_-; -_-; Ta~da! The post lives!!!! <--Please excuse the random comment. ^_^;;;;

Double posting generally isn't allowed under any circumstances, especially since this topic is still fairly young and I don't think it had even dropped from the first page in this section. You didn't have to post in it again just to bring it "up-to-speed", you didn't even add something constructive to it other then to say what you did in your post of bringing it "up-to-speed". From what I know that is actually called a "bump", where a member of a forum doesn't want something to fall to low on one part of it so they post again to "bump" it up to the top once more to get attention.

If he forgave Cossack enough, then maybe he'll put the original symbol back. But of course, it's not going to happen, ever. =P He chose to leave that scar as proof of humans betraying him.

I had a theory about Forte in the anime, but since Forte had the scar already, and with no flippin' reason as to how and why he's got it, all my hopes of seeing Forte's story in the anime has been dashed. =P

Aero, consider yourself warned. Double posting is against the rules, and doing it especially to bump a topic just to keep it on the top of the page is against the rules as well.

Next time you do this, I'll lock your topic. Topics come and go, some are longer lived while others don't last for long. If your topic dies quickly, tough luck, but you must not bump it back to get more attention drawn to it. Be warned.

I'm very sorry admins and mod's! *bows to the admins and mod's* Please forgive me! But when you said you'll lock my topic, does that mean you would lock the first topic I will make? Also, it sounds stupid, but I was going to do a new topic on Forte (not exactly, but it is close) and I thought you guys would link it to here, so I just renewed this one. Once again, I apologize for my stupidity, I just didn't think I would get a warning (my first offense! Not good! T_T ) for renewing an old topic by these means of 'bumping'. T_T T_T

Not your first topic, just whatever topics you might have bumped in a 'in theory' sense.
