Chapter 1: Chronos’ First Strike

Another long day at Sci-Lab was coming to a close.

Clacking of keyboards could be heard along with the sound of a sigh.

"Oi, Why do I of all people have to get stuck working over time just to fix Dr.Hikari's research?" said a professor, busy at work compiling the day's data.

He gets up from his seat, walks over to a snack machine and presses a few buttons. The machine then pours a coffee and he picks it up. He scratches his goatee.

"I'm probably going to need this. With all the stuff to record, I'll be here for a while."

Meanwhile, a stranger strolls up to Sci-Lab wearing a long trench coat. With a dark voice he says, "Do not worry, my lord, We have arrived."

He walks over to the gate and plugs in a seemingly old SubPet, probably just used to transport a navi.

The Navi arrives in the Sci-Lab's net in a jolt of light. A silver armored and belted navi appears. His crest, made of 7 Triangles, lights up. The navi walks over to a control panel, and jolts of purple lightning strike it.

An Alert goes off.

The control panel starts to un-ravel, the data being consumed by the shock, deleted piece by piece.

"What the.... Something's wrong with the system!" the professor says dropping his coffee on the ground and sprinting toward the main control room.

He enters a few passwords and accesses the Control Area server.

Data Missing. Intruder alert. Intruder Alert

"Oh-no..."

The professor quickly brought up a map of the Sci-Net and added a line with the silver armor-clad navi's path.

"He's... headed for the main Data Server?!" he shouted.

The navi walked slowly, freezing the security navis, not with Ice but a distortion.

"Ah. The Data server link... this is the way to the program that I need..."

The professor quickly typed in a few programs in and entered a window.

Data Server Link Disconnected.

"Hah. That should hold him off." he said with a sigh of relaxing.

The Navi walked up and tried to use the panel. All he got was a "Disconnected" message.

"Hmm... So they think they can stop me?"

He took out his sword and carved his icon into the panel and the stabbed the sword in the center.

"CHRONOS REWIND!" the armored navi shouted as 5 spirit balls circled the sword moving closer to it. In a bright pillar of light, the panel reactivated. He pulled his sword out of it and began to walk onto the teleport.


Kaeri was sitting around in the deserted SciLab lobby. She looked up from her Game Boy due to the noise of the alert coming from a nearby computer. "Kobito, think we should check out what's going on?" Kobito responded with a silent nod.

"All right then." Kaeri walked over to the computer and plugged Kobito in.

Kaeri sat in the chair in front of the computer and began to think. "The most valuable info is kept in the data server, and that'd most likely be where an intruder would go! We need to get there somehow."

Kobito, now within the SciLab Net, smiled. "I think I have an idea." She looked around the area, which was, like the lobby, empty, aside from one SciLab Navi. "Tidal Tornado!" she yelled, pointing her staff in the Security Navi's direction. A typhoon erupted from the ground and hit the navi, deleting portions of his data and causing him to pass out. "Now...let's see...Kaeri, can you download his data? We should be able to use that to get by security." Kaeri nodded and did so. They then proceeded through the rest of the SciLabs, ending up at the link to the Data Server, where the armored-navi was about to enter the teleport. Kobito ran up to him and said confidently, "Who are you? And why are you attacking Scilabs?"

The strange, silver navi turned around and stared at his intruder.

"Hmmm... Quite a dent in my plan you've hit," he said raising an eyebrow with a look of alert.

"I am Lord Chronos, " the navi announced, "And who might my little interruption be named?"

Kobito thought for a moment. "My name is Kobito, and what exactly is this plan you're talking about? I can reassure that my operator and I aren't with HJ or any other organization."

"And what's up with the whole Lord Chronos thing? What did you do that was so special that you get to have lord in front of your name?" Kaeri chimed in.

Kobito slapped her forehead. "Don't say that, you'll get him angry!" she tried to whisper back to Kaeri.

Chronos lets out a suppressed chuckle and then walks over to the server, places his hand on it, and starts to download the Dimensional Area data.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!" Kobito shouts running over to the navi.

"Hah. I don't need to explain myself to you," Chronos says, taking his hand off the server with the data in a glowing ball in his hand.

"If you do infact wish to learn, come to the Undernet, and use this to find your way to me," he says, throwing a small console to the young girl navi.

"That will lead you to my area. There's a Security cube there that will only open if you insert the data within that console that leads to my area. I shall see you there..."

Chronos.EXE Logging Out

After Chronos logged out, Kobito just stood still for a moment, puzzled. "So...I'm assuming that we're going to the Undernet, Kaeri?"

Kaeri nodded. "I'm getting more and more predictable, aren't I?"

"I suppose so. In fact, I'm sort of curious too." Kobito replied as she logged out.
