The fate of the YuGiOh GX dub

You see how bad 4Kids got......first they ruin Rockman and a few others...now this. I am shocked with the name changes they made to the characters. They were going to have the original names, but no, it wasn't "good" enough for them. So they changed them. Here are the changes made from Japanese to English:

Yuki Judai- Yuki Jaden
Asuka Tenjyoin- Alexis Rhodes
Misawa Daichi- Misawa Bastion
Sho Marafuji- Syrus Truesdale
Ryo Marafuji- Zane Truesdale
Hayato Maeda- Chumley Huffington
Jun Manjyome- Chazz Princeton
Chronos de Medici- Dr. Vellian Crowler

The horror. I actually thought they were going to stick with the original names. But guess I was wrong.

Hm? I thought Yu-Gi-Oh! was done and over with after Waking The Dragons. :O How many seasons are there? Confused

There are still 3 seasons to go including GX. The other 2 are the KaibaCorp Grand Prix Arc and the Pharoah's Memories Arc. Then comes GX. But 4Kids decided to skip the other 2 and go straight to GX for some stupid reason.

Oh crap. You're right. My bad. What I meant to say is that 4Kids did a horrible job of dubbing some of their most watched animes (Pokemon, One Piece).

Yes, Gigaman, sticking with hard-to-pronounce, Japanese original names is always a good idea, especially since the dub is targeted for 12-year olds and below!

Once again, I remind you to keep in mind what age range these animes are being targeted to outside of Japan. Names are changed if it's considered necesary. And until one of us works in a studio that dubs these series we can't know for sure why some changes are made.

Again, you might not like what's being done to your favorite animes but you cannot complain because they don't do things the way you'd like them to be done. Deal with the fact many of the people that watch it have no contact with the original form of the anime whatsover and they still can enjoy it. Believe it or not, some people actually prefer the way a dub deals with the story better than the originals, it's called personal taste.

Eh, flavorish names to say the least. I don't know ANYTHING about the show, so the name-changes won't matter to me...I'm just sad about how Yu-Gi-Oh! managed to be raked into the sam retarted deal as the Dragonball series was. I LOVED Dragonball and Dragonball Z, and GT being an anime-only thing was just...pathetic. So I already have my doubts about this one, to be honest. But like I said, I've never seen any episodes of it, so who's to say.

I've only just recently found (unsubbed) LQs of GX, so I don't know half of those names anyway ^^;; but still... I'd have preferred to not have them changed at all.
