Miyabi looked at the small box with apprehension. “Should I really?” he asked out loud.

“Yes,” his navi told him. “You’ve been dancing around it for months.”

Miyabi sighed and pocketed the box, “I can’t believe I’m doing this,” he said shakily.

“Neither can I,” Shadowman said. “It certainly took you long enough.”

“Since when were you an expert on love?” his operator snapped.

“Since you and Yuriko have been sidestepping the idea for over two months,” he replied. “I’m all about patience, but that’s ridiculous. You two have been going out for a year now?”

Miyabi took in a deep breath, “One year and two months,” he replied automatically.

Shadowman resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “You’re going to be late,” he pointed out.

Miyabi looked at his watch and sighed, “It’s not the first time,” he replied.

“Right,” Shadowman sniffed.

Miyabi ignored his navi and left the building to where they were going to have dinner. He came to the roof of Yuriko’s apartment a little while later and saw her gazing at the stars. “You’re late,” she said without looking at him.

“Sorry,” Miyabi said.

She gave him a soft grin, “No you’re not,” she said as he sat down next to her.

Miyabi grinned. Yuriko remained the only woman he knew to be honest, open and able to kick his ass whenever she wanted. She looked at the moon and smiled, “Lovely night isn’t it?”

Miyabi gazed at her, “Yes, it is.”

Yuriko caught his gaze and smiled, “You never did know how to sweet talk a girl. You’re comments are very subtle.”

“Are they?” Miyabi asked.

Yuriko smiled and leaned into his arms, “Yes, and I prefer it that way.”

Miyabi obliged her actions and held her in a loose embrace. He could feel the small box resting against his leg but the moment was too… tranquil to be ruined.

“Is something on your mind?” she asked suddenly.

‘Damn,’ he thought. ‘How does she do that?’ “Something,” he admitted.

“Well?” she asked.

Miyabi gulped and let her go, sitting up. She looked at him with a mysterious smile as he reached into his pocket. “Yuriko, I’ve been sitting on this for awhile,” he admitted, “But,” he opened the box to reveal an engagement ring, “Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife.”

Yuriko didn’t squeal, cry or clap her hands like other women did when asked the question. Instead she planted a firm kiss on Miyabi’s lips that he took to mean yes. He handed her the ring and allowed her to put it on. She admired it in the moon light then resumed her seat in his lap while he stroked her hair.

“Does this change our duel tomorrow morning?” she asked him with a teasing tone in her voice.

He lifted her face to his own and gave her a gentle kiss, “Not in the slightest,” he told her.

Awww....

It lived up to its disclaimer--it was short, and quite sweet. I do not know much about Miyabi's character, as a proud owner of ToB, but I know for sure that he seems to be the kind of man that skirts around that type of issue. Yuriko was done well as well, as her character in the anime was reproduced almost perfectly in this work.

I'm sorry to admit, I've never even considered that pairing. There are certain things that escape me, and subtlety can be one of them. Anyway, I like it. You kept everyone in character, and I respect that. Though I do wish Needleman made an appearance. Sad

The anime makes up more of a relation betweent he two characters, that's mainly where this coupling came from, that and she wrote this for me because I drew them getting married, Darth. Needleman didn't have much room to appear since it was a bit mroe in Miyabi's view. XP

Anyways, back into the review. God damn woman, it's so sweet without being 'sugary', I love how you protrayed Shadowman and Miyabi and Yuriko's reaction is very within her character. I love this fanfic to pieces, but you know I love all the fanfics you've written for me XD
