Hiya, folks!
When I first saw the E3 trailer for RockmanEXE 5 DS, I was impressed. However, there was one thing that worried me.
The in-game graphics look the same as the GBA version, which I don't mind. However, I was worried that the music would be the same as the GBA version, too. I mean, the 8-bit/16-bit sound combo is okay for the GBA, but it just wouldn't fly on the DS.
However, just yesterday, a VERY nice fellow on another channel I frequent was nice enough to send me a copy of the ripped soundtrack.
And after listening to it, I am happy to say that my fears were completely unfounded.
The redone soundtrack for EXE 5 DS was just phenomenal! They took all the tunes from the GBA game and amped up the quality beyond 16-bit and all the way to 128-bit!
The instrumentals, the techno-vibes, I loved EVERYTHING about the music! It was like there was a party in my ears, and there were enough beer for everyone!
It's hard for me to pick a favorite song, but if I had to, I'd have to say it would be a toss-up between Oran Island, End City, or the virus battle theme (since the battle themes are my favorite song in any EXE game)
And speaking of which, I couldn't help but notice that the virus battle themes from EXE 2, 3, 4, and 4.5 made it into the game. (Which, I've heard, can be unlocked by plugging the aforemention game into the GBA slot on the DS) It was so wonderful to see these songs remixed DS style. The EXE 2 battle theme, which will always be my favorite, sounds 1000 times sweeter than it did on the GBA. It was almost like hearing a little whishper of heaven. But most suprisingly of all was the battle theme from EXE 4. That one was my least favorite out of all the battle themes, and even THAT song rocked on the DS!
And let's not forget that wonder OP theme from Stream, Buzy's Be Somewhere, which has been included as the game's OP and ED theme. That song ruled in the anime, and it rules now!
As much as I loved this game before, I love it even more now. Just the music alone is reason enough for me to blow an entire paycheck on it!
All in all, the music is something to be honored, admired, revered, and any other verbs I can think of later. Let me know what you guys think of the soundtrack, and what your fave tunes are. |
