|

Has anyone ever had a really bad file corruption or get a game file deleted that made you never want to play that game again? I have, in Phantasy Star Online. I was using my best memory card, with my Characters Realm, Andalite, Zach, and Flash on them (all level 200 except Zach, who was level 73.) Each character had a huge amount of rare items, and I had made lots of friends with them. One day, while it was saving my file, I had a power outag during the save. All my data, corrupted and gone. I still haven't fully recovered (Still missing some rare items and level 30 techniques.) Well, that's my story. Has anyone else suffered anything like that in PSO or another game? _________________ EXEHQ. Click now, I demand it.

Oh, whoopie. There are two:
Sonic Adventure 2-Battle: Thanks to some unknown reason, my SA2 Battle File (Collected around 90 emblems, worked really hard) was erased without a trace on my memory card. You did not know how much I have to play again to beat the Final Boss and such again.
Pokemon Sapphire: This one pisses me off so bad I almost want to throw my GBA on the ground. I already got my party all Level 70+, and someone, SOMEONE press 'New Game' and saved it. Thanks to him/her, it took me about 2 month of straight playing to get them to Level +80. _________________

Monster Rancher. I just defeated the last S-Rank monster, and then it hit me. While I was saving, there was a power disruption. The next thing I knew, my memory card is now some paperweight... _________________ My deviantART... |

Interact's N64 Memory Card Plus. It's the only one I ever had and it conveniently started corrupting itself when the N64 was replaced. It won't stop corrupting itself now, and I've really been wanting to play Flying Dragon again and the passwords just don't save enough. I had both secret characters, the Gold Dragon Claw, Phoenix Glove, those three CD items, etc., and everyone at level four.
Luckily it's the only 3rd party accessory that I need, but I'm making certain not by any of Intercrap's stuff again. _________________ Red Green's words of wisdom:

Somewhat related.
I found out you could get a different ending in FF6 if you played using only 3 of the 12 characters. Of course in order to take down the final boss you use all 12, trading them out as they run out of HP. So in order to finish it with 3, the characters must be level 99 and have the best item.
The game glitches right after you defeat the boss, and you get no ending. Just a blank screen. Either my disc is defective or they forgot to program the alternate version in when they ported it from SNES to PSX. So disappointing. Another PSO related suffering. ;-;
I had just defeated the Gol Dragon for the first time with my HUcaseal, Shade, as I was running towards the teleporter my brother came in a turned the TV off, well, what really happened was the power blinked. I lost my entire card. My Animal Crossing Town...everything. But now Shade has been recreated and she's Level 114. ~/o/ _________________

I remember, back when I was a kid, I was all about Pokémon Red... and I just got myself a new Game Genie. So, basically, I spent a whole lot of time using codes to encounter every Pokémon and catch them (with the unlimited Master Balls I also acquired)... and then using my unlimited Rare Candies to level up every single one of them to Lv. 100. (But the catch was, you couldn't actually carry infinite Master Balls or Rare Candies, but instead, use a code to merely max them out... so I'd have to repeat the code often, specifically for Rare Candies.) So, anyway, leveling up all of them to 100... this included refusing some Pokémon from evolving until they reached Lv. 100. I literally had all 151 (plus Missing No.) Pokémon at Lv. 100. Did I want to use Lv. 100 Rattata? Not a problem. Lv. 100 Psyduck? Good to go. Of course, the next time I turned my game on, my data had been deleted...
But truthfully, this barely fazed me. There were much more irritating file deletions in the past... like when I once saved over my MegaMan Legends file as a kid (right at the end of the game)... or when a girl I liked gave away all of my good chips in the BN2 chip trader (neither one of us aware that it auto-saved with each chip)... I once turned my Dreamcast off while Marvel VS. Capcom 2 was saving and lost everything on my memory card (including my Sonic Adventure 2 emblems... ouch)... and probably a number of other things I don't remember right now. _________________

The worst that has happened to me are those seemingly periodic spontaneous wipes of the memory on a GBA game, most notably EXE3. I turn on the GBA to find that my progress, stars and all, are wiped for no apparent reason.
My worst loss was actually completely my fault. I was playing EXE3 from the beginning, with the intention not to save (I call these my 'back-to-basics' runs, and I play just for the hell of it). I actually got fairly far in that run, and decided to throw off some extra Cannons in the Chip Trader. Unfirtunately, I overlooked that Chip Traders save your game, so my previous save file, in its perfect 7-star glory, was erased. Oy. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Mmm. Something like this. I was filling up my bathtub and I triped on something and I droped my GameBoy with PokeMon Red in it. I had just one Pokemon to go (Mewtwo) and when I dropped it in the tub it shorted out. The Game said "The Film data has been destroyed" and the game was worthless. The GameBoy was fine however. _________________

my sonic shuffle game on my Dreamcast.
yup, i beat the board game (after playing it the WHOLE SUMMER!), got 600+ rings (thanks to the forest board) and ALL THE HIDDEN CHARACTERS!!! that included super sonic. when i beat the game, though i am an avid sonic fan, i have NEVER gotten to play as super sonic. so i was ecstatic. so, i saved my game and the next time i turn it on.
"file corrupted: would you like to play without saving?"
now i have to re-do it. and cpu amy and cpu tails are E~VI~L!!
then there was that one time with my zelda: oracle of seasons file.... little jerk killed it... aka he actually saved over it! HOW COULD HE SAVE OVER IT!!! THERE WERE TWO OTHER BLOODY SLOTS OPEN!!! >_<

Too bad PSO won't let you copy data. If so, my best characters would still be with me. Here's another one: I had completed Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 100% except for one character's techniques(My ninja needed to learn Double Sword). He learned it, and I walked outside to play the game in fresh air. As it was saving, my dog, who was hyper, jumped on me and grabbed my GBA. The GBA was fine, but he bit the game while it wsa saving, apparently crushing it. The game is still playable, but a little buggy. Plus, it deleted my file. _________________ EXEHQ. Yeah one of my pokemon games did that once. I don't know which one so I don't think I ever went back to it. I had that happen once before too but then I just gave myself all three starters and just kept playing. |

Probably when my gamecube memory card got corrupted. I lost my files on Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, O carina of Time, Transmission and several other games. I was most dissapointed about my Majora's Mask. I had gotten really far and that was a HARD game. _________________

I was playing BN3 on my GBA, and I was saving the game, when the red light suddenly came on and my GBA turned off. I was so mad because my data was corrupted, since the game shut off before it could finish saving. I was just about ready to fight Serenade too *sniffles*. So, I am currently trying to replay the game so I can FINALLY fight Serenade. _________________
