A Resemblance in the X series...

Dunno if this was already pointed out... but here goes. If this was already pointed out in another topic, please lock this.

Anybody noticed any similarity between Axl and Forte?

The color scheme is somewhat similar, and in R&F Bass used directional fire as well....

If Megaman is X in the series (DUH), and Blues' corrispective is Zero.... Axl is Forte? Dunno, just wonderin'... waddya guys know/say?

I'm sorry, but I just don't see it. Other than a couple minor similarities, I don't think Axl is meant to be any kind of X Series Forte.

lol, I've drawn connections between the 2 before myself. Like for instance, where Forte came into the classic series at 7, Axl came into the X series at X7. But other than that, naw, I don't really think there's anything the same about them other than they have black armor.

Axl's X8 standard attack seems to have obviously been derived from Bass, but that's about it. The colors aren't even really similar...

Other than the fact that they appeared in the seventh game of their respective series, the blatant fact that they share a dark color scheme, the fact that they can rapid multi-directional, the fact that they have scars on their face, the fact that they're arrogant and the fact that I hated both of them immensely for that reason, I can't see any resemblence.

Axl can't even form a buster arm.

IMO I think Axl is the X Series replacement for Forte.

X = Megaman (DUH!)
Zero = Protoman
Axl = Forte

Yeah of course, The classic series had those three as the main characters and axl is the third person for the X team.

Well if you want to go into more simularities, in the Classic Rockman series Forte did not appear till Rockman 7, and in the X series Axl did not appear till Rockman X7. More simularities, when Forte showed up you didn't know who made him till close to the mid-point of the game, and in the X series we still don't really know who made Axl or how he got his scar. Other then the black tones to the armor and his attack, I agree that there isn't really a lot to base that Axl is the X series version of Forte.

Axl's more of a dark blue than a black.

And I'm still not entirely sure those are scars on Bass' face.

And, above all else, Mega Man and Bass aren't friends.

Bass wears warpaint. That's what I thought it was anyway... The purple stuff, right?

You could argue that Axl is the Bass of the series, but then you could also argue that maybe Capcom just felt the need to throw in an extra characrter as the series started to get stale, which is why Axl hit in 7. Or maybe Capcom just wants to add cool new stuff when they console jump.

Personally though, does it even really matter? Unless you're going to argue that Axl IS Bass, Zero IS Protoman(untrue), and X IS Rockman(while I believe it, it's really not likely), or at least the one about Axl, there's really no footing to base a solid yes or no off of.

Axl is Forte? I seriously doubt it. The only similarities I see between them are their colors, and that's about it.

In my opinion, Axl might be Bass' "equivalent", but in a different way. I've noticed that there are usually(but not always) three main characters throughout the Rockman series. For example:
-X/Zero/Axl
-Rockman/Blues/Forte
-Rockman/Blues/Searchman
-Rock/Roll/Tron
-Leviathan/Harpuia/Fefnir(okay, so there was originally Phantom too but you get the idea)

For some reason, having three main good/bad guys just works. Maybe it's just me, though.

I think Forte's equal is Zero, They 're both Wily's creation, also they 're the main Character's "partner". Blues isn't completely playable character. I think you can control him in Arcade game but not in main plot. However I accept that Axel has mystery past like Forte(In the first part of game.) But Zero 's creator isn't revealed until X4, right?(It was hint in X2, thought.)
