Hey everyone! I found this site and I just recently started writing a Rockman fanfic. I haven't seen a whole lot of the series so here is a little warning. I have seen the first and second season but very little of Axess. So this fic happens a little ways into the Axess season. Enzan and Netto can use cross fusion and they are both Net Savoirs but other then that it is my writing and my ideas for the rest of the series. I really hope that makes sense :::sheepish grin:::

Also a lot of the navis that I will be introducing I haven't seen in the series yet but I have read their info and know basically their attacks. So anything that happens with some of the Dark Loids is because it goes with my plot. I just wanted to point that out. With that there it is and I hope you like it. Also I usually update chapters once or twice a week depending on my work and school schedule. Huggles Tal ^_~

Episode One
Stormy Weather

The rain pelted the sidewalks of Dentech City as lightning rented the sky. Netto had managed to find a small awning to hide under as the weather suddenly changed. He had also managed to completely soak himself before finding the little dry spot and now he could feel the cold penetrating his skin as if seeking to freeze his very blood.

“Netto-kun are you okay?”

Netto jumped slightly at the concern that laced his partner’s voice, “R-r-r-ockm-m-man d-d-id you hap-p-p-p-en t-to f-f-find-d out what-t is up with th-th-is w-w-weather?”

Rockman stared blankly ahead from his holster with concern on his face. Though he wasn’t looking at his NetOp he knew that he was freezing. “Gomen Netto-kun. All the weather network navis are saying that this storm wasn’t predicted. I think I should contact Manabe or maybe even Enzan-san to come and get you.”

A crack of lightning and a rumble of thunder rent the sky. Netto covered his ears and the wind began to howl. Netto slowly looked back to the deserted street and gasped. What the…? Across the street and on top of one of the buildings stood a lone figure. The black clouds blocking the sun made it impossible for Netto to make out the features of the figure. Another flash of lightning lit up the sky drawing yet another gasp from Netto.

“Netto-kun?”

“R-r-rock you h-h-ave t-t-to see this!” With shaking hands, partly from the cold and part from pure awe, Netto reached for his PET.

Rockman blinked blindly into the darkened street as Netto held him out. Lightning lit the sky again and Rockman gasped. Standing on top of the building across from them was a lone figure that looked human to the navi but something else was with it. A huge beast like creature was standing beside the human. It was facing away from them but by its features it looked like a large canine or wolf. Its fur was soaked however when the lightning rented the sky it flashed multi-tones of blues and silvers.

“What it that Netto-kun?” As if the beast heard Rockman it turned and shocking silver eyes connected with electric green.

Before Netto could even respond the beast threw its head back and howled. The wind, lightning and thunder were all silenced by the great call. With his free hand Netto covered his ear, as the howl seemed to silence everything else. The creature lowered it's head and arose to walk closer to the figure that stood beside it. The lightning lit the sky once more and suddenly the two figures were gone.

“R-r-rockman d-d-did you s-s-see th-that?!”

Rockman nodded slowly, “Yeah I did. But I need to get you somewhere dry before you get sick.”

Rockman looked at his fellow navis as they stood in silence. He had just finished telling them about what he and Netto had seen on the roof during the storm. Glyde was the first to look up at Rockman since he finished the story.

“So Rockman-san you’re saying that this creature and figure didn’t really notice you at all?”

Rockman shrugged, “Well not really. When Netto-kun showed me what he was seeing and I spoke to him… I don’t know if I was imaging it or not…”

“What Rockman?” Roll gently grasped Rockman’s shoulder as she spoke.

“Well when I spoke to Netto-kun I could have sworn that the creature looked right at me. I might have been imaging it but then it suddenly howled like a wolf and then they were gone.”

Glyde raised a hand to his chin as they all fell into a collective silence. “Rockman-san did you happen to record anything from last night?”

Rockman slapped his forehead, “No! Now that I think about it I should have. But it happened all so fast. I was more worried about Netto-kun.”

Glyde held is hands up in front of him, “No no Rockman-san don’t beat yourself up about it. Netto-san is of course your first priority. How is he by the way?”

Rockman slumped his shoulders, “By the time Manabe could get to us Netto-kun’s teeth were chattering. His mom made him some hot soup and a warm bath. I hope he will be fine in the morning.”

Roll smiled as she gently squeezed his shoulder, “I’m sure he’ll be fine. I have to get going though. Meiru has a piano lesson at 8am and I have to make sure that I wake her in time.”

Glyde nodded, “I have to make sure that Yaito-sama doesn’t miss her tennis lesson either. You will let us know how Netto-san is doing?”

Rockman nodded as his friends logged out. I really hope that you are okay Netto-kun. I sometimes forget that you are only human and that you can get sick. Rockman sighed to himself as he logged out to return to his PET where he could keep watch over Netto as he slept.

Enzan stared out over the grounds of his home. It was really early and he didn’t see the point in trying to sleep anymore. Blues was currently looking up any new leads on Dark Chips and any known locations of the Dark Loids. Enzan watched as the last of the rains from the storm fell from the sky. It still seemed odd to Enzan that such a storm had occurred. The weather network hadn’t said anything about a storm coming and the weather was beautiful before it happened.

Enzan turned his gaze away from the sparkling grass and glistening trees to look at the empty screen of his PET. Blues had been gone for nearly three hours. Of course he was due back in about ten minutes to wake him up but the fact that he was still searching was bothering Enzan.

Suddenly the screen glowed to life as the data reconfigured into the shape of Blues. “Ah Enzan-sama you’re already awake.”

“Yes Blues I couldn’t seem to sleep any longer. Did you find anything out?”

“I’m sorry Enzan-sama I didn’t find anything on the Dark Loids or the Dark Chips but I did run into Rockman who had a interesting tale to tell.”

Enzan raised an eyebrow at his NetNavi. “Really?”

“It seems that Rockman and Netto were both caught out in the storm yesterday and they saw something interesting.” Enzan listened as Blues told him the tale of the mysterious figure and strange creature that they had seen on top the a building.

“Did Rockman tell you anything else?” Enzan crossed his arms across his chest.

“Nothing that concerned the figures that they had seen but he did say that Netto had been completely soaked in the rains and that he had to ran to go and wake him up.”

Enzan nodded and as he let the information sink in. I wonder what that was all about? Could it be new Dark Loids? No, they live in the net. However that creature does interest me. “Blues I believe we have some investigating to do.”

“Hai Enzan-sama.”

Netto slowly opened his eyes and blinked into his pillow. His head felt like someone was playing a hundreds drums against his skull. Then there was someone making a lot of noise and that didn’t help his splitting headache. Slowly Netto rolled over and looked into the smiling face of his blue navi Rockman.

Rockman smiled at Netto and mouthed something that reached Netto’s ears like the buzzing of bees. Netto blinked at Rockman as he continued to try and talk to him. “Rockman I can’t understand a word you’re saying.” Is that my voice?! Netto raised a hand to his throat as the mere thought of talking again made him cringe.

“Netto-kun you don’t sound to good…”

Netto smiled lopsided at his partner as he slowly tried to pull himself out of bed. The minute Netto tried to stand he felt dizzy and fell back onto the bed. “Netto-kun I’ll jack in downstairs and get your mother.”

“Wait!” Netto grabbed his throat again. Yelling wasn’t a good idea. “I don’t want my mom to worry. Anyway we have to check in with Manabe and see if they have any new leads on Nebula.”

Rockman didn’t look like he wanted to listen to Netto but nodded anyways. “Alright Netto-kun but if we get downstairs and your mother says that you need to stay in bed you have to listen to her.”

Netto waved his hand at Rockman as he slowly stood up again. He still felt a little dizzy but as long as he didn’t move to quickly he was able to stand. “Okay Rock lets get going before Enzan finds out that I’m going to be really late.”

Rockman bit his lip as he watched Netto walk slowly to his bedroom door and head out towards the bathroom. This wasn’t going to be a good day for Netto. Rockman could just feel it.

Enzan sat in the leather bound chair across from Kifune. So far Netto was almost a half hour late. Enzan was still trying to get used to the fact that Netto was prone to being late but he wasn’t usually this late for a meeting. Enzan looked down at his PET and saw that Blues was looking just as annoyed as he was for being made to wait.

Suddenly Rockman’s face appeared in Enzan’s PET. “Enzan-san sorry that Netto-kun and I are running late. He..uhmm..over slept and is making his way there as fast as he can. We will be there in a few minutes.”

Enzan nodded at Rockman as his image vanished. Why did it seem that Rockman was lying? Did Netto really over sleep? “Enzan-sama?”

Enzan shook himself out of his thoughts and looked down at Blues. “Hai?”

“Was it just me or did Rockman seem that he wasn’t telling the whole truth?”

Enzan nodded, “I think that he was covering for Netto. But why I don’t know.”

Blues was about to comment when suddenly the door opened and Netto can in panting. Enzan’s eyes widened at the white pale face of his fellow Net Savoir. He was sweating and breathing heavily as he walked into the room and sat in the empty chair beside Enzan.

“I’m… really… sorry…”

Commissioner Kifune held up his hand to silence him, “That is alright young man but we have a very important mission for the two of you. Three days ago a supposedly abandoned warehouse exploded from a surge of electricity. When the police and fireman entered they discovered the warehouse was actually a laboratory. We haven’t been able to enter this area as of yet because of the electrical damages but the police have informed us that we should be the ones to check it out.”

Enzan crossed his arms, “Why are we needed to enter this warehouse? It doesn’t sound like one of our labs.”

Kifune leaned forward slightly in his chair, “The reason we are needed is because the fireman found what I believe to be a Dimensional Area Generator. We also believe that this could be a site that was once used by Nebula.”

A slight coughing noise stopped Enzan from replying. Enzan glanced to his side and saw that Netto was trying, and failing, to stop himself from coughing. He was even paler then before but before Enzan could ask if Netto was okay the door opened again and in walked Manabe.

“Sir the car is ready whenever you are.”

Kifune stood up and walked around his desk. “Well Net Savoirs let us be on our way.”

Netto stood slightly behind Enzan as they stood outside the warehouse. It was taking everything he had to stay standing. His head was pounding, his nose felt like it weighed five pounds, and he had a constant tickling in his throat. Not to mention that Enzan was constantly looking at him from the corner of his eye. Just go in there and look around. Then you can go home and sleep. Netto kept saying that to himself as he followed behind Enzan as they entered the warehouse.

The outside of the warehouse looked like any other warehouse except that it was charred in places where the flames of the fire had licked the outside. Once inside that was a whole different story. It looked like one of Science Labs secret locations. It was filled with computers, or what was left of computers, and other devices that they used in their labs.

Enzan lead the way as they followed after Manabe and Kifune. The smell of the charred hardware wasn’t helping Netto’s already pounding head and sinuses. They rounded a corner and Netto stopped.

“Dad?”

Yuuichiro Hikari slowly stood up from the piece of hardware he was currently looking at. He smiled at Netto and then frowned once he got a good look at his son. Netto smiled at his father and waved a hand to let him know that he was okay.

“Hikari-san what are you doing here?” Netto jumped slightly as Enzan addressed his father.

“I am here because Kifune-san said that the firemen had described something that sounded like a Dimensional Area Generator. But I am sorry to say that it isn’t. Come and have a look for yourself.”

Netto followed after Enzan as they approached his father. Before Netto could stop himself he sneezed. Everyone turned to look at him as he sneezed again. Netto placed his hand on his forehead as he grinned at his father, “Sorry the dust and debris is killing my nose.” Enzan shrugged as he turned back to look at the strange generator that Yuuichiro was looking at.

“What is this?” Netto walked around Enzan and looked for himself. It did indeed look like a generator but it was hollow and had a strange sort of apparatus inside. If Netto didn’t know any better he would have guessed that a human would have fit inside.

“By the looks of the outside of the capsule it looks like one of the dimensional area generators but the power source is missing. Well I wouldn’t say missing. I would say that it wasn’t in there to begin with. The workings inside suggest to me that a human, most likely a teenager by the size of the space, sat within it.”

Enzan crossed his arms and gave Hikari a funny look. “Hikari-san I can't see the logic behind placing a human within this capsule. Not to mention that it seems strange that someone would be building something like this especially if it was the Dark Loids.”

Yuuichiro nodded at Enzan as Netto sneezed again. I think my head is going to explode if I sneeze one more time! “Well this is nothing that the Science Labs are working on. This isn’t even one of our labs or sites. Kifune-san?”

Kifune turned away from a broken computer he was looking at as he smiled at the brilliant doctor. “Hai Yuuichiro-san?”

“I think we need to take back anything and everything from this site that could still have data on it. Whatever happened here I don’t think that the Dark Loids had planned it.”

Netto pinched his nose to stop his sneeze, which only proved to make his ears pop, as he turned to his father. “What do you mean dad?”

Yuuichiro raised his hand to his chin, “I don’t think that the Dark Loids wanted this lab to explode and since it was on fire and looks like it is no longer connected to the net they have no way of getting this technology which means that we might find something out about the Dark Loids and the Dark Chips by studying these computers.”

Kifune nodded as he waved to Manabe. Enzan had walked off to look around and Yuuichiro was once again looking at the strange capsule. I think I’ll going to pass out… I should have listened to Rockman when he said that mother should know about me feeling this way.

Suddenly the ground shook, causing Netto to fell to his knees. A large black hole appeared in the center of the room as a dimensional area generator rose out of the hole. Not now! I can’t cross fuse like this! The generator lit up as the barrier of the dimensional area was activated. Instantly viruses started to log into the area.

“Netto-kun!” Netto grabbed his PET as he slowly got to his feet. “Netto-kun are you going to be okay for this?!”

Netto looked to the others. Kifune, Manabe, and his father we already getting out of the way of the viruses. Enzan had already cross-fused with Blues and was taking down some of the viruses. However the more viruses that Enzan took down the more they logged in. “We can do this Rockman!” Netto looked at Rockman and nodded. Rockman smiled and nodded.

Netto wasted no time downloading the Synchro Chip. The familiar warmth spread over his body as he fused with his partner. With a flash of light Netto and Rockman were one and the same. Netto lunged forward slightly as his vision blurred. What is going on?! I feel even weaker then before. I can’t seem to focus.

“Netto-kun the viruses are coming right at us!”

Netto looked up and quickly jumped out of the way as a virus came at him. “Rock-buster!” Netto’s hand warped into the familiar buster as he levelled off the viruses that were coming at him. “This is crazy! The more we delete the more they show up!”

Netto rolled to the side as he barely dodged an incoming virus. Enzan landed beside Netto as the two teenagers panted for air. Netto fell to his knee as he tried to focus on the viruses that were massing in front of them.

“Netto what is wrong!?”

Netto looked up at Enzan as he swam in and out of focus. “Enzan…”

“Long Sword!” Enzan leapt forward and sliced through half a dozen viruses. Netto watched as his vision started to cloud over. I can’t seem to… even think…

“Netto-kun! Netto-kun!”

Netto could feel the cross fusion starting to fragment as he fell forward onto his hands and knees. His body was shutting down. Rockman is worried about you and wants to stop the fusion but we can’t. I need… I have to… Suddenly a howl rang throughout the dimensional dome. Netto looked up and gasped.

Standing on the railing of one of the floating platforms was the creature that Rockman and he had seen last night. Only this time it’s fur wasn’t soaked but shimmered and shined in an array of blues and silver. It’s intense fierce silver eyes glared at the viruses. What is that creature? It is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen!

The viruses slowly turned away from Netto and Enzan to look at the new comer. The creature didn’t move as the viruses floated towards it. Netto wanted to yell out to the creature but his voice didn’t seem to be working.

“You viruses will never bother me again. Today will be the last day you try and find me. I will never return. I truly know what freedom is and I will not let the likes of you take that away from me!”

Netto jumped slightly at the sound of the new voice. Slowly something appeared behind the great beast. The figure was covered from head to foot in a long white hooded cloak. The voice was full of anger and hatred for the viruses that were in the dimensional area. Netto didn’t know if it was his lack of hearing but the voice sounded like that of the female. Enzan slowly backed up to stand beside Netto’s fallen body.

“Silver Whirlwind!” Netto could feel the fine hairs on the back of his neck stand on end as the creature’s eye lit up. It was giving off a huge amount of energy. Suddenly the creature’s body turned into great blazing blue and silver flames. The creature streaked forward in a blur of silver and blue. The viruses didn’t even have a chance of moving as they were deleted by the powerful creature’s attack. Only this time the viruses didn’t appear again.

When the creature had deleted the last of the viruses it streaked towards the generator. With a deep howl and a flash of light the generator exploded sending shards of debris throughout the air. Netto felt his connection with Rockman vanish just before everything faded to black.

Hmmm. I read this this morning, but I lacked the time to review it.

I am impressed. If this is your first shot at writing a fanfic, I'd say it turned out very well. It was more than sufficiently detailed throughout the work, and the action was straightforward and very easy to read.

Oooh, new fanfiction! Hoorah!
A very good one too, like everyone is saying.
I like the... descriptions of movement. Like... when Netto sees his father, and just waves a hand to nonverbally say he's okay. So much of communication is nonverbal, and authors never use this to their advantage. Body language, people! ^_^
Lovely and wonderful, no typos other than a "to" that should be "too", uhm... Why does Netto call his mother "his mother" and not just "mom"? That's just word choice though, no biggie.
And of course, very cliffhanger-y. (Why must anime characters always black out at the end of episodes and such? Bah!)

Rockman.EXE: Trinity

Episode Two
Viruses

Enzan watched as the dimensional area vanished. His cross fusion with Blues vanished as the last of the multi-coloured area faded away. Enzan gasped as he watched in awe. The huge creature didn’t vanish. How is this possible? The readings I got from it clearly showed that it was a navi. Yet he is still within the real world. Is he like Rush? The creature soared through the air and back towards the hooded figure.

“Netto-kun!”

Enzan turned around at the worried voice of Rockman. Netto what the…! Enzan ran over to his fallen comrade. He knelt down and gently rolled him over. Kami-sama! Netto was covered in a layer of sweat and was a whole new shade of white. “Netto? Wake up!” Netto didn’t even flinch as Enzan tapped his cheek.

“Enzan-san is Netto-kun going to be okay?” Enzan looked down at Rockman’s concerned face as he looked on helplessly from his PET.

“Rockman what is wrong with Netto?” Rockman bit his lip and instantly Enzan knew that the navi was going to be reluctant to tell him what put Netto in this state. “Rockman!” Rockman flinched at the accusing tone in Enzan’s voice.

“I didn’t think it was this serious.”

Enzan jumped slightly at being caught off guard by the approach of Yuuichiro Hikari. He slowly looked up and nearly gasped at the extreme concern that laced Hikari-san’s face.

“Kifune-san and Manabe-san said they would handle the collection of the artefacts here. We need to get Netto to the Science Lab so he can be diagnosed.” Hikari-san bend down and effortlessly picked up his unconscious son. Rockman’s PET clattered to the ground as it fell from Netto’s limp hand. Hikari-san turned, without a backward glance at Rockman, and walked away with Netto in his arms.

Enzan reached over and picked up the blue PET. Rockman had his head bent and Enzan could feel the shame and guilt radiating off the navi. Enzan ran after Yuuichiro as he quickly walked from the warehouse. “Rockman.”

There was a long silence before Rockman finally spoke, “Hai Enzan-san.”

Enzan clambered over a fallen beam as he quickened his pace, “I think you need to inform Netto’s mother of this.” Enzan thought that Rockman wasn’t going to listen but Rockman suddenly vanished from Netto’s PET without another word spoken.

“Enzan-sama.”

Enzan looked away from the blank PET to his navi, “Hai?”

“Do you think it wise to tell Netto-san’s mother about this?”

“Any mother would like to know if their child were hurt or sick.”

“Of course Enzan-sama but I meant sending Rockman to be the one to tell her.”

“Why do you ask Blues?”

“I know that Rockman is feeling ashamed and guilty because Netto-san is sick and now he has to tell his mother.”

Enzan stopped speed walking to look at his red navi, “Ashamed? Of what?”

Blues suddenly looked extremely serious, “It is Rockman’s duty to protect and take care of Netto-san. If Rockman knew that Netto-san was sick or hurt he should have done something before it went this far.”

Enzan looked at Blues’ serious expression before he quickly turned and followed after Hikari-san as they left the warehouse.

A lone figure stood on top of a warehouse looking down into the mostly deserted street. The only thing on the street was a large black car. The wind whipped about in the early morning causing the figure to wrap their cloak more securely around them. A howl on the wind announced the arrival of the one they were waiting for.

The large blue and silver wolf sat down before its master as they gazed into the street below. Of course the lone figure’s thoughts weren’t on the street or car but on what they had seen moments earlier. The figure knew that cross fusion was possible but never had they seen two teenage boys fuse so perfectly. Also the figure had never seen cross fusion where the user used his or her own PET. Never would I have thought that these two boys would have been able to cross fuse. The use of a PET and chip is what really interested me. But why aren’t they using it anytime they want? They could have had the warehouse cleared out my now if they would have crossed fused to lift the heavy hardware. Of course I would have had to step in to stop them but still this is something that I will have to look into.

Suddenly the great wolf nudged against its masters leg. The master knew already what was coming. The brunette teenager was obviously sick but fought against the viruses anyways. That is why they had intervened. And now it seemed that the fusion had cost the young Savoir the little health that he had left. A man approached below them on the street. He was carrying the brunette in his arms as he quickly walked towards the car. The driver jumped out and started to help the other man with the boy as they manoeuvred him into the back seat.

“Hikari-san! Wait please!”

The figure leaned a little closer to the ledge as a dual hair coloured young man ran out of the warehouse. The one called Hikari stopped climbing into the car long enough to nod at the man. They watched in silence as the black car sped away from the location.

The two stood in silence for a time, as the wind blew about the cloak of the lone figure. They were both enjoying the freedom of the breeze when the silence was disturbed by the sound of a large vehicle heading their way. The lone figure looked down the street and saw a large white van getting closer and closer. Soon it was right below them. Why would they need a van of that size? There are only two more people in the warehouse. Wait a minute…! The creature could feel its master’s distress as it whined softly at their side. They watched as men started to climb out of the van and into the warehouse.

“It seems my friend that we are going to have to investigate where this hardware is going.” The creature nodded his head in understanding as the men started to carry items out of the warehouse and into the van. “Do you have the scent trail of that black car?”

The creature stepped forward and burst into a whirlwind of blue and silver flames. When the flames cleared the creature had easily doubled in size as it knelt down for the figure to climb on. “Let’s go!” With a howl the two leapt from the roof and disappeared into the light of the morning sun.

Rockman watched on helplessly as the Lab doctor hooked Netto up to an oxygen mask. After Rockman had informed Netto’s mother of what was happening he returned to his Pet to find that Netto was being taken to the ICU and that the cross fusion had accelerated the spread of the virus that was within him.

Enzan had placed Rockman on the little table that faced Netto’s bed. When the doctor left Rockman didn’t know. All he was thinking about was how he failed to protect Netto.

“Rock… man…”

Rockman jumped slightly at the sound of Netto’s voice, “I’m here Netto-kun.”

Netto didn’t open his eyes but he did smile weakly, “I’m glad you’re here.”

Rockman hung his head as a tinge started to burn the corners of his eyes, “Netto-kun…”

“Don’t.”

Rockman looked up at Netto. He looked so helpless lying on the bed hooked up to all sorts of machines, “Netto-kun I…”

“Rock listen to me because I only have the strength to say this once. Don’t you dare think that this is your fault! It’s not.” Slowly Netto opened his eyes a fraction to look at his navi.

Rockman leaned forward in his PET, “Netto-kun I should have noticed something was wrong! I should…”

“What Rockman?! It was me that told you not to tell my mom. I was me that told you I was okay to cross fuse. So please Rock don’t blame yourself.”

Rockman shook his head, “I am suppose to make sure you’re taken care of…”

Netto smiled at his navi, “And you do all the time. But there are some viruses that can’t be deleted. You being here is more then enough Rock.”

Rockman smiled slightly as Netto closed his eyes and fell back asleep. Maybe Netto-kun is right. Just being there for each other is enough. Rockman smile broadened as he watched over his sleeping NetOp.

Enzan had excused himself from the waiting room a long time ago. He never really liked being around a lot of people and mix into the batch a whole bunch of worried people and anyone would need air. Now he stood outside in silence. He was thinking about the viruses that they had fought at the warehouse. They were no ordinary viruses. Never before had Enzan seen viruses that could regenerate like that. Then add into the whole thing a strange wolf like creature that had amazing power and you had one confused person.

The cloaked person was also something that Enzan was thinking about. All he knew about this person was that they had a very soft gentle voice that sounded female and the fact that this person seemed to be in control of that creature. When he had snuck away he tried to look up anyone that would fit that description but noting turned up. So Enzan was left to believe that the creature wasn’t a registered navi.

“Enzan-sama.”

Enzan shook himself out of his thoughts, “Hai Blues?”

“A strange energy source is near by.”

Enzan looked up and down the street but didn’t spot anything out of the ordinary, “Do you think it’s a Dark Loid?”

Blues shook his head, “No Enzan-sama. I have felt this energy before. Its that strange creature from the warehouse.”

Enzan’s eyes widened in shock, “What? Its here?”

Blues nodded, “Its on the roof.”

Enzan didn’t wait to hear anymore. He turned on his heel and took off into the building. The others in the Lab were giving him funny looks as he ran past on his way to the elevators. That creature is here at the lab! Does that mean that more of those viruses will be showing up? What could we have here that they would want? Is that figure like the creature? Are they both Navis?

Enzan reached the elevators and leapt inside. Before the doors had fully opened he was pushing the close button. There was something about that creature that Enzan wanted to know about. It was a creature none like anything he had ever seen and if Blues was saying that it had a strange energy then there was more to it then meets the eyes. The elevator finally reached the roof and slowly the doors opened.

“I was wondering when your navi was going to figure out we were up here.”

“What?” Enzan was taken back by her bluntness.

“Your navi, Blues I believe, isn’t that attuned I guess.”

Enzan glared at the back of the figure, “My navi is perfect and how do you know his name?”

The figure slowly turned around to look at Enzan. All Enzan could make out about the face of the figure was that they had very intense bright lilac eyes. “I know more about you and your navi then you will ever know. However that is not important at the moment. Where is the hardware and software that you stole from the warehouse?”

“Stole?”

“Yes stole. What else would call it when you take something that doesn’t belong to you?”

Enzan glared at the figure for talking to him like a child, “That warehouse was abandoned and the hardware didn’t belong to anyone. It has something to do with dark chips. I just know it.”

Suddenly the figure started to laugh softly, “Something to do with dark chips? It has everything to do with dark chips and the dark loids.”

Enzan’s eyes widened in shock, “How do you know this?! Do you work for them!”

The figure stopped laughing and narrowed her eyes at Enzan, “I have never worked willingly for them. I wanted freedom and I got it! Now destroy it!”

Enzan was taken back by the malice in her voice, “Destroy it?”

“If you do not destroy what you took they will come after you again and again.”

Enzan growled in frustration. She is talking in riddles. "Who are they! Destroy what!"

Suddenly the creature beside the figure stood up and growled. Enzan jumped back at the creature’s movement. “It would be wise Enzan-san to heed my words. The viruses are here and I don’t think your partner Netto-san could survive another attack.”

Enzan was about to reply but the ground shook as a dimensional area suddenly enveloped the entire Science Lab building. What now! Wait! What did she say about Netto… Enzan’s eyes opened wide in shock. Oh Kami-sama! Enzan turned around and ran back towards the elevator without a backward glance at the two.

“Blues get a hold of Rockman and tell him to lock down the ICU. I think those viruses are going to attack again.”

“Hai Enzan-sama!” Blues vanished from his PET as Enzan entered the elevator. Don’t let me be to late!

Bubbleman shifted from foot to foot nervously. He had already failed once to destroy the lab and now it was his last chance to destroy the hardware the Net Agents stole. The area generators were in place and viruses were making there way towards the location. Everything has to go perfectly this time glub glub. Shademan will delete me if I fail again! Not to mention that they just had to show up Glub!!

“I don’t know why Shademan put a wimp like you in charge.”

“Glub!” Bubbleman jumped at the new comers voice, “Plantman!”

“I will be getting her back. Shademan is going to give ten dark chips to whom ever brings her back to us.”

Bubbleman pouted at Plantman, “I am the one that is running the show on this one. You can go back to whatever it was that you were doing.”

Plantman grinned and he crossed his arms, “I was getting ready to watch you being deleted but since Shademan said that whom ever brings the Key back will get ten dark chips I figured that I might as well come and do your job while I’m capturing her.”

Bubbleman opened and closed his mouth repeatedly as he tried to think of something to say. Plantman laughed as he logged out. That over grown plant! I will show him that I am the better of the two of us! Ten dark chips for the Key! Those will be mine glub glub!!

Enzan flipped over another virus as he backpedalled towards the ICU. The viruses were just like the ones that attacked at the warehouse. No matter what they tried they couldn’t seem to stop the regenerating viruses.

“Enzan-sama we need to lead them away from Netto-san. Rockman has locked down the ICU but if they get there they will just brake down the doors.”

“I know Blues but I can’t seem to get them to follow me. They are bent on going this way.”

Enzan downloaded his long sword as three viruses charged at him. With a wide arc Enzan sliced through the viruses. Enzan panted as three more took the place of the ones that he had deleted. If only that creature was here. He was somehow able to stop them from regenerating. Enzan ran down the hall trying to think of a way to stop the viruses. There has to be a way to stop them…

“Enzan!” Enzan stopped and looked around. There was no one around. The viruses were coming up closer behind him. “Enzan through here!”

Enzan turned and saw Kifune standing in the adjacent hall. Enzan looked behind him before he turned and jumped down the hallway. “Kifune-san! You need to find somewhere safe to hide. These viruses have the ability to regenerate.”

Kifune started to jog down the hall with Enzan running beside him. “I know what these viruses are and Hikari-san is working on a way to defeat them. He analyzed that creature at the warehouse and is now trying to figure out what it did to stop the viruses.”

They rounded another corner and entered into the large entrance hallway. Enzan doubled over as he panted for breath. “Enzan-sama we can’t stay cross fused much longer if we keep running around. Your body can’t handle it.”

“I know Blues but without Netto we are the only ones that can fight the viruses.”

“I know this my sound weird but what if we do what the figure on the roof said? If we destroy what we took from the warehouse do you think that the viruses will stop attacking the Lab?”

Enzan straightened out as he heard the viruses approaching, “I don’t think that’s an option. The commissioner isn’t going to let us destroy what they think to be the work of the Dark Loids.”

The first of the viruses started to enter the entrance hall that they were in. Enzan needed to think of something and now. Suddenly the ground shook as the sound of an explosion rung through the great hall.

“What was that?!” Kifune looked around as Enzan tried to get a reading on where it was coming from.

“I think it came from the roof…” Was it that figure and the creature? Are they fighting on the roof? Enzan looked up and tried to make out anything that was moving on the glass skylight. The building shook again and Kifune fell to his knees. “Kifune-san.” Enzan knelt beside the fallen commissioner as the sound of more explosions rang throughout the building.

An extremely large explosion caused the skylight glass to shatter. Enzan covered the commissioner as best he could as glass shards rained down on them. “Kifune-san are you alright?!”

“Hai Enzan I am. What the hell is happening?!”

Enzan was about to comment when the sound of a howl rented the air. Enzan looked up and smiled. The blue and silver creature came flying through the opened skylight. At least I know that they were the ones that were up there up fighting. The creature landed in front of the two and growled at the viruses. Enzan slowly helped Kifune to his feet. “Sir you need to get out of there now. It isn’t safe here. Go and make sure that Netto is okay.”

Kifune turned and ran from the hall. At least I know one of us is going to be okay. Enzan turned and walked slightly towards the creature. “I know that we don’t know each other but I could really use your help.” The creature turned and looked at Enzan. Enzan blinked in surprise as the wolf nodded once to Enzan. “Alright let’s do this!”

The wolf howled as he leapt forward and slashed through six viruses with a single swipe of his claws. Enzan leapt forward and together the two of them deleted the rest of the viruses. Everytime Enzan slashed through a virus the wolf seemed to howl. That’s it! It’s the sound of his howl that makes it so the viruses can’t regenerate!

Enzan and the wolf stood back to back as the last virus vanished. “Well done. I think we got them all.” The wolf yipped happily as he nudged his head against Enzan’s leg. Enzan smiled slightly as he petted the wolf’s head. It was strangely warm to the touch. Suddenly the wolf’s ears perked up and he growled as he leapt into the air. Moments later a scream rent the air. What the heck was that?! Enzan turned and gasped. The hooded figure came crashing through the shattered skylight. Enzan ran forward but the wolf beat him to her.

The wolf landed softly on the ground as the figure rolled off his back. “Are you okay?” Enzan went to reach for her but she slapped his hand away.

“Enzan-san get away while you still can. They will kill you if you are near me.”

“What are you talking about?” The wolf growled as he burst into blue and silver flames. Enzan jumped back as the wolf seemed to double in size. He turned around and started to growl at the roof. Enzan looked up and gasped. It was a navi. And by the looks of it he was the one that the figure was fighting on the roof.

“So the puppy has learned new tricks.” Vines shot out of the navi’s hands and he used them to lower himself into the hall. “New tricks are not enough to defeat me puppy. Now stand aside.” Enzan looked from the navi to the wolf. Neither one looked like they were going to back down.

“You're the one that should stand aside Plantman. If you try to take me back this ‘puppy’ will delete you.” The figure slowly stood up and looked at Plantman.

“You honestly think that you and your puppy can stop me?” Plantman laughed as he crossed his arms, “I’d like to see you try it.”

Suddenly the wolf howled, causing Enzan to cover his ears, as the figure raised her hands before herself. “I may not delete you but I will send you back to Shademan. Give him my best regards!” Enzan fell to the ground as the building gave an unearthly shake. Suddenly the floor below the navi opened up.

What is happening? “Blues make sure that you collect all the data from what we’re seeing.” Plantman looked around as streaks of fuchsia light shot out of the hole and started to wrap around him. The more Plantman seemed to fight it the stronger the streaks seemed to get. Such power that wolf has!

“What is happening?!” Plantman tried to use his own vines but the streaks of light just wrapped around them too as they pulled him into the hole.

“You laughed at our power and now you will feel it first hand. No amount of dark chips will help you now. And you can tell Shademan or the Master that if you come after me again I will not rest until I have deleted every last Dark Loid!”

Plantman yelled out as the fuchsia streaks pulled him the rest of the way into the hole. With a strange pop noise the hole vanished, as did the dimensional area. Enzan closed his eyes as his navi armor changed back into his PET. When he opened his eyes he sighed. The figure and the wolf were both gone. What is going on? That power was amazing. The Dark Loids knew who that girl was and called the wolf a puppy. Does that mean that the wolf wasn’t as strong as it was before?

“Enzan-sama we need to find out about those two. The power reading for that strange hole in the floor wasn’t coming from the wolf but from the human girl.”

“What?” Enzan raised his PET to his face as he looked at Blues to see if he was telling the truth or not, “That kind of power couldn’t have been made by a human. A navi maybe but a human…”

“I know it sounds weird Enzan-sama but the reading is telling the truth. The power was from that human.”

Enzan looked away from his PET as the lab techs came running into the area to make sure that he was okay. He didn’t listen to a single one of them as he stared off into the mid afternoon sun that filtered through the skylight.

As for the action, you spare no expense when dictating your scenes, and the copious amounts of descriptions make the story become that much more lucid in the mind of the reader. Fantastic job.

Episode Three
Shooting Stars

Enzan glared at the phone. He had just finished talking with his old man and he didn’t like the news that had come with the conversation. How could he even think that I was slacking at my work for IPC? Does he really think that I can’t handle being a NetSavoir and run the company here in Dentech City?

“Ijuin-san the applicants are waiting down here in the lobby for you. Also…” Suddenly the door opened and in walked a grinning Netto, “Hikari-san is here and he is on…”

“Thank-you Takashi-san. He is here already.”

Netto walked across the room and flopped down in one of the chairs facing Enzan. “Having a party?”

Enzan raised an eyebrow, “Party?”

Netto leaned back in the chair and put his hands behind his head, “Yeah there are a ton of people in your lobby. Mostly older women.”

Enzan sighed as he rubbed his temple, “This is going to be a long day.” Suddenly Enzan looked at Netto as if seeing him for the first time, “Oh! Netto should you be up and about?”

Netto grinned as he waved his hand, “Yup! Dad gave me a clean bill of health this morning. He said not to cross fuse for a few days but I felt so stiff that I just had to get out of there.” Netto eyed Enzan as he grinned even more, “That’s why I headed his way.”

Enzan didn’t like the grin on Netto’s face. He’s up to something. “Go on…”

Netto jumped out of his seat and grinned at Enzan as he shot back in his back, “Yaito is back in town and she is having a huge party tonight! You have come!”

Enzan sighed as he stood up and headed towards his window, “As much fun as that is I am very busy today as you can tell by the hordes of people downstairs.”

Netto blinked curiously at Enzan, “About that?”

Enzan turned to look at Netto, “My old man wants me to get an assistant and those people down stairs are here for the position.”

“Wow! How many assistants are you going to have?” Netto’s eyes grew even larger.

Enzan shook his head slowly, “One.”

Netto flinched, “Ouch… Well the party isn’t until tonight so if you survive you have to come over to Yaito’s. There’s suppose to a huge meteor shower tonight.”

Enzan’s eyebrows drew together, “And I need to be there for it?”

Netto grinned as he stood up, “Just come okay. Everyone is going to be there and if I have my way we will be having some serious netbattles there too. I need you there because you and Blues are the only ones that are a challenge anymore.” With a jaunty wave Netto left the room.

Enzan sat back in his chair with a defeated sigh but had to allow himself a small grin for the last comment that Netto made, “Blues.” Enzan pulled out his red PET.

“Hai Enzan-sama.”

“Please clear my timetable for today and call Hikari-san to tell him we will have to reschedule for another day.”

“Hai Enzan-sama.” Blues vanished from his PET and Enzan glared into his office. I had a lot of plans today and the old man ruins them again. Enzan pushed a button on his phone.

“Hai Ijuin-san.”

“Takashi-san you can send the first applicant up.” Enzan looked at his door. And so it begins.

“Are you sure this is the right place?” The young teenage girl asked her purple navi as she looked upon the tall IPC office building. It wasn’t the largest of the company’s buildings but it still amazed her that such large buildings existed. They had been to four buildings already and it was getting quiet late in the day. If it was the wrong building they would end up being too late.

“Yes this is it. The maps show that this is IPC’s main office in Dentech City.”

The girl smiled at her navi as she walked towards the double black tinted window doors. They opened automatically and the young girl gasped. “Wow…” The lobby was full of people talking to each other in excited voices or filling out paperwork that they all seemed to be handing to the receptionist. The girl followed behind a couple of older women as they all walked towards the receptionist’s desk.

After a few minutes the other women walked away talking nervously about how they hoped that the other got the ‘job’. The girl shook her head as she walked up to the desk. Before she could even open her mouth the receptionist started talking, without looking up, “I’m sorry miss but the interviews are over now and the position will be filled in a few days time.”

The girl quirked an eyebrow, “Interview? Position? I’m not here for a job. However I do wish to speak with Ijuin Enzan-san.”

Still the older women didn’t look up, “I’m sorry he is very busy and doesn’t want to be disturbed. I can take down your name and you can see him on Thursday.”

Thursday?! That’s three days from now! That is really really to late! “I really need to talk with him today. It’s very important.”

Again the women didn’t look up. She is being quiet rude! When someone is talking to you, you should at least have the common courtesy to look them in the eye. “He is very busy right now and visitors are not allowed.” The girl could tell by the receptionists voice that she was getting annoyed with her for not leaving.

“But…”

“Have a nice day,” with that said the receptionist turned around in her chair and started working in the file cabinets that were behind her desk.

The girl glared at the women before she turned around and headed towards the elevators. “She was extremely rude!”

“I’ll say!”

“Well we can’t take no for answer.” The girl once again pulled out her purple PET, “You know what to do.”

“This is going to be fun!” The girl pointed her PET at the elevator control panel as her navi jacked in. The elevator doors opened and the girl grinned to herself as she walked onto the ‘private’ elevator.

“Alright now lets find Enzan-san.”

The video screen in the elevator lit up and the girl’s purple navi appeared with a blue print of the building behind her. “His office is on the fifteenth floor and by the looks of the layout his office is the only one on that floor.”

“That’s good to hear. At least no one is going to try and stop us from getting to him. What else did you find out?”

“Enzan-sama has some pretty impressive firewalls and anti-virus programs that protect the main computer. He also has a lot of different levels of security and each level has more and more powerful security navis.”

“Did you scan for any viruses?”

The purple navi nodded, “The IPC anti-virus program was the point of penetration. These are some serious viruses and they are making their way to the main control as we speak.”

“This is not good. I will have to send you ahead. If I can’t convince Enzan-san that I am telling him the truth I will jack you out and he can deal with the problem himself. Otherwise we'll both head to the central computer room and help out.”

The purple navi grinned, “Sounds like a plan to me.”

“Take this with you,” The girl pulled out a battle chip. “Long Sword Battle Chip in. Download!” The purple navi held out her right arm as it changed into a purple bladed long sword.

“You’d better hurry or Blues is going to miss all the fun.”

“Take care!” The navi nodded as she vanished from the elevator screen. The elevator slowed to a stop and the doors slowly opened. The minute the doors were open the girl found herself standing in front of two large oak doors that had a plaque on one side of the door. It read: ‘Ijuin Enzan President.’ Well here goes.

Enzan rubbed his temple as he stared blankly at the pile of resumes in front of him. It was going to take forever to find the perfect assistant. Not one person that he had interviewed would do for the job. Some of them didn’t even have a navi of their own and the ones that did, didn’t have very strong navis. The people that had come to apply for the position all seemed to think that it was a secretary position that was open. How am to pick one of these people if none of them even know a thing about programming or have a powerful navi?

“Enzan-sama sorry to bother you.” Enzan looked up from the pile of now blurring resumes to look at his navi.

“Not at all Blues. What is it?”

“It seems that someone was asking for you downstairs.”

Enzan knitted his eyebrows, “I thought that all of my appointments today were moved?”

Blues nodded, “They were and this young girl didn’t have an appointment nor was she here for an interview. But it seems that Takashi-san was very short with her.”

Enzan frowned, “She does that a lot. I will have to talk with her.”

“That isn’t even the strangest thing Enzan-sama.” Blues continued to talk, “She said that it was really important that she as allowed to come and talk with you.”

“Important? Do we know this girl?” Enzan rubbed his tired neck as he closed his eyes.

“I have never seen her before. But when Takashi-san told her to have a nice day the girl didn’t leave. She headed for the elevators.”

Enzan’s eyes shot open as he stared at his navi, “What?” Before Blues could comment there was a soft knock on the door. Enzan looked at the door for a moment before the soft tapping was heard again. Enzan pushed his chair back and stood as he called to the person to enter.

Enzan’s mouth fell open as a very pretty young girl stood in the doorway. Her white lavender hair was pulled up in an elegant twisted bun with a strange headband that looked like it had a navi’s icon on either side of the band behind her ears. Her clothes were that of a teenage girl and were mostly purples and blacks. She also wore a belt that had two navi holsters that ran half way down her thighs. Enzan had never seen anyone that looked like her before.

She slowly walked into the room and bowed to Enzan as she stopped just before his desk, “Please pardon my unannounced intrusion. I asked your receptionist if she would allow me to speak with you and she would not. However my business with you, Enzan-san, is very important and can not wait.”

It took Enzan a moment to collect his thoughts and for her words to sink in. Her voice sounds really familiar. I wonder if we have met before. No. I would remember meeting her. “What is so important that you had to sneak into my elevator and come up here?”

The girl straightened out and smiled sheepishly at Enzan, “Again my apologies.” The girls face suddenly became very serious. “I came to warn you. Viruses have infected IPC’s network. They are within your systems as we speak.”

“What?” Enzan reached down and picked up his red PET. “Blues! Scan for any viruses or unauthorized entry into the IPC’s network.”

“Hai!” Blues vanished and Enzan turned back to the girl that was in his office.

“How did you know that there were viruses within my network?” Enzan now eyed the girl suspiciously.

“If you are thinking that I put the viruses in your network then you are mistaken. Why would I tell the person that I infected that I am infecting them? My navi and I were surfacing through Net City and your network was giving off strange readings.” The girl crossed her arms as she eyed Enzan.

This girl as quiet the backbone. “Touché.”

Blues reappeared in his PET. “Enzan-sama the anti-virus and firewall systems aren’t showing any signs of unauthorized entry.”

Enzan turned back to the girl, “See there was nothing to worry about. The readings that you were getting were probably an error with your navi.” Enzan flinched at the glare that the girl was giving him. If looks could kill Blues would be a solo navi right about now.

“There is nothing wrong with my navi. Her programming is perfect. I should know as I programmed her myself and as for your ‘systems’ not showing unauthorized entries you should take a look at this.” The girl walked over to his flat screen wall computer monitor and turned it on. The screen hummed to life. For a moment it was blank and then suddenly a purple navi appeared on the screen. The navi was breathing heavily but it differently wasn’t one of his navis.

“I think I finally managed to narrow the viruses down. They were trying to enter into the security system. I think that they're trying to lock the building down however, why is still unclear.”

Enzan looked at the navi and then at the girl. Blues didn’t detent that navi and either did my other systems. Does this mean that viruses could really be with the system? Enzan was brought out of his thoughts as the conversation that the girl and her navi were having started to sink in.

“Well he didn’t believe us so we might as well leave. I’m sure that Enzan-san can track the viruses down and delete them before his entire network is infected.”

The purple navi sighed, “I was having fun too. Alright then.”

Enzan quickly walked over to the monitor, “Wait! Are you saying that you have been fighting the viruses in my network?” The purple navi nodded, “But my systems couldn’t detect them and they are the top of the line security systems.”

The purple navi shrugged her shoulders, “You are dealing with a new type of virus called the Trojan. They enter into anti-virus programs under files that state that they are upgrades. If your systems don’t know what to look for the viruses can get in. Once inside the network they corrupt the security navis and take over their bodies. It’s hard to tell which navis are infected and which aren’t but I can tell the difference right away. They have already defeated three levels of your fire walls and only have four left before they have access to the entire network of IPC.”

Enzan didn’t waste anymore time as he held out his red PET and jacked in Blues, “Blues I want you to follow this navi to stop those viruses. We will head to the control room. Stop them at all costs Blues. We have some of the worlds most sensitive data on this network.”

“Hai Enzan-sama.”

Enzan started to leave the room but was stopped by the sound of the girl’s voice, “Flame Sword Battle Chip in. Download! I want you to use that sword until we connect with the main network.”

Enzan looked at the girl and then the navi. That’s a good idea. I never did that before for Blues when I jacked him in. Enzan pulled out a battle chip. “Flame Sword Battle Chip in. Download! Now hurry Blues.”

Blues was amazed at the purple navi’s speed. She was able to navigate through the network as if she had been there a hundred times before. “So are you going to tell me your name?”

The navi looked over her shoulder and grinned, “Sorry but unless my NetOp tells me I don’t give out my name to strangers.”

Blues cocked an eyebrow behind his visor. “I’m a stranger? And yet you seem to know my name and all about IPC’s network.”

The purple navi stopped and looked around the network. Files were flying overhead at great speeds. Blues was about to comment again but the navi spoke up first. “I know about you and this network because it is my job. My NetOp has charged me with keeping new viruses out of all networks. That’s why we were in Net City and that is how I know about you and Enzan-san.”

Blues walked up to the navi and stood beside her, “Your job is to make sure that no viruses enter any network?”

The navi turned and smiled at Blues. “Yup and I love every minute of it! Here comes our ride so get ready.”

Blues looked around but didn’t see what she was talking about. “Ride?”

The purple navi giggled as she pointed at an incoming file. “That file is headed to the anti-virus network. The easiest way to start tracking these viruses is by hitching a ride on that file. Get ready.” The two navis bent their knees and leapt into the air at the same time. Blues landed roughly on the file and the purple navi grabbed his hand. “Careful I don’t want to loss you to something as stupid as falling off a file.” Blues nodded and felt his face heat up, as the navi didn’t let go of his hand.

Enzan and the girl rounded a corner and were finally on the floor that lead to the main network computer. They two had tried to take the elevator but the first signs that the viruses had indeed infected his systems had shown its face at the elevators. They opened but the minute the two of them went to step inside the doors tried to shut on them. Enzan had to grab the girl around the middle and pull her back so she wouldn’t be hurt.

They came to a stop at the large steel doors that blocked off the main computer room. Enzan walked over and entered the code. A red light and a high-pitched beep went off. “What the hell?”

The girl came to stand beside Enzan, “What’s wrong?”

Enzan entered the code again and again it did the same thing, “The viruses must have gotten into the security pad.”

The girl gently nudged Enzan aside, “It’s a basic numerical code pad right?” Enzan nodded, “Good I can get us in there then.” The girl instantly started to push buttons. The red light didn’t flash as she continued to try and crack the new code that the viruses had obviously entered. “All most got it and…” She pushed a few more buttons, “there!”

Enzan grinned as the door slid open, “Nice work. Let’s go.” Enzan ran through the doors and headed for the control panel. He pulled out his PET and connected to the network. The girl run up beside him and jacked in as well. The computer monitors lit up and showed Blues and the purple navi fighting with the security navis.

Enzan glanced sideways at the girl, “I take it that those security navis are the viruses.”

The girl nodded, “Hai. The easiest way to tell which is a virus and which isn’t is by attacking all the security navis. The ones that aren’t infected will just logout for repairs while the virus navis will be deleted.”

Enzan nodded, “That’s differently a hit or miss solution.”

“Well my navi can tell which ones are the viruses by appearance and the readings that they give off. But Blues will just have to attack them all.”

Enzan watched as the purple navi streaked through the air and sliced right through a navi that was about to attack Blues from behind. Enzan didn’t even have time to warn Blues but at least the other navi seemed to be watching Blues' back.

“Typhoon Battle Chip in. Download!” Enzan jumped slightly as the girl beside him downloaded a battle chip to her navi. The purple navi’s sword vanished as she raised her hands into the air.

“Blues get out of the way!” Enzan yelled as Blues leapt through the air and landed behind the navi. Great funnels of wind appeared and crashed, sliced, and threw the security navis around. Some of the navis just logged out while others yelled out as they were deleted. That is a very rare battle chip and very hard to master. The timing as to be perfect to just get one Typhoon to show up but the two of them managed to be sync enough to create five funnels.

Enzan pulled out a battle chip as well. Can’t let her have all the fun. “Elec Sword Battle Chip in. Download!” Blues’ flame sword was replaced with a crackling Elec sword as he charged at the other three remaining navis. Blues was a mere red streak as he deleted the last of the security navis. “Great job Blues.”

“You did awesome as well partner!” The purple navi turned and smiled at the girl. “Now we just need to reconfigure the anti-virus program and then it truly will be a job well job.”

“You got it!” The purple navi turned away from Blues and walked towards the central anti-virus program. She placed her hand on the program and it lit up. Enzan shielded his eyes as the light slowly dimmed. When his eyes adjusted to the light the girl was no longer standing beside him but he could hear her voice.

“I will re-input the security navi’s data while you rebuild the firewalls.”

“Alright I will reconfigure the system to read all files that could contain the Trojan virus.”

Enzan walked over to the girl and watched in awe as she typed away on the master keyboard. The blue print of his anti-virus security navi appeared as she ran a complete diagnoses on the navi. Every couple of files she would change something in its programming. Enzan couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The two of them were working at speed that he had only ever seen Hikari-san use when it came to reprogramming. It only took about ten minutes before the two of them were done and the new navis and firewalls were back in place.

The girl stretched as she turned to smile at Enzan, “Well that was a close call. You will still need to run your anti-virus program through the system and it will take a couple of hours and all your systems will be defaulted back to system pass codes. You should be able to run it tonight when everyone leaves that way no one will have to worry about anything their currently working on getting deleted.”

Enzan didn’t know what to say as the girl turned back to look at her navi. The two of them were talking again and it seemed that even Blues was joining in with some of the conversation. She is the fastest programmer I have ever seen. I think she would even put Hikari-san to shame. Not to mention the power that her navi has is unbelievable. If she has a rare chip like Typhoon I can only imagine what other ones she might have.

“All right partner its time we headed out. It’s already almost seven.” The girl pointed her PET at the control panel as her navi logged out. “Sorry to have intruded like this Enzan-san. I think I can show myself out.”

Enzan didn’t even response as he stared blankly at where the girl was standing a few minutes earlier. Enzan jumped out of his thoughts at the sound of the closing of the metal doors. “Enzan-sama I think those two would be great candidates for your assistant.”

Enzan grinned as he looked at his red navi, “I think your right. Let’s go Blues!”

The girl exited IPC and breathed a sigh of relief. “Well partner we made it just in time. I wonder how many more companies are going to be hit by Nebula’s new viruses?”

The purple navi shrugged her shoulders from within her PET, “You got me but do you think it wise that we draw this much attention to ourselves. Last thing we want is to be to known throughout the city. Remember Nebula is still after us.”

The girl sighed as she started to make her way down the street, “I know but I want at least a semi normal life. We as normal as a genius programmer can get.”

The purple navi laughed, “Inflating your own ego now?”

“Hey!” Both navi and operator started to laugh. It had been awhile since they had laughed at something so pure, something so real, something that reminded the two that they were free.

“Wait! Please stop!” The girl wiped a tear from her eye as she turned around to come face to face with Enzan. Enzan doubled over as he tried to catch his breath.

“Are you okay?” Enzan held up a hand and the girl fell silent.

“You sure made a lot of ground in this short of time.” Enzan stood up and smiled.

“I guess so…” The girl raised an eyebrow at Enzan as he just stared at her. Okay he is starting to freak me out just a little bit.

“I wanted to thank-you for coming to help me today. I was asked to go to this party tonight and I would really like it if you came as well.”

“A party? I’ve never been to a party before.”

Enzan raised an eyebrow, “Never?” The girl shook her head, “Well then why not come to this one. I believe that there is going to be some netbattling at the party and my friend Netto has become quiet cocky at his abilities as a netbattler. I just know that you and your navi could take him down a couple of notches.”

The girl giggled as she nodded her head, “Sure, that sounds like fun.”

Enzan smiled, “So are you going to tell your name or do I just keep saying ‘Hey you’ when I want your attention?”

The girl laughed even harder and Enzan couldn’t help but laugh as well. “My name is Galaxy.”

Enzan held out his hand to Galaxy, “Its nice to meet you Galxy.”

Galaxy giggled as she took his hand, “Its nice to meet you to Enzan-san.” The two walked back towards IPC chit chatting about the battle that they had just fought. Their laughter mixed into the gentle early evening breeze as the first shooting star streaked across the sky.

The story is very well-written, but there is one problem - Galaxy is excessively perfect as a character:

1. Attractive
   
2. A genius programmer
   
3. A netbattling prodigy
   
4. Already on some kind of gaurdian-of-everything mission
   
5. Has a highly unusual, cool-sounding name
   
6. Has a highly unusual, cool-looking hair color
   
7. Able to get past IPC security with ridiculous ease
   
8. Strangely familiar to Enzan (or at least her voice is)
   
9. Obviously has some kind of unusual past (Never been to a party before? Ever?)
   
10. Mysteriously works perfectly with Enzan despite the two having just met

I think you need to give Galaxy some weaknesses and character flaws quickly or she may become a Mary Sue ...

Episode Four
Master of Illusions

Galaxy looked around the limo in awe. She had never been in one before and now she was on her way to a party. I started the day saying that I was going to help rid the network of the new viruses that the Dark Loids have created and now I am sitting in a limo on my way to a party. Galaxy stared out the window as the scenery flew past. They were heading out of town to someone named Yaito-san’s house. She had never been this far out of the city before and all the new scenery was a little bit to take.

“Galaxy are you alright? You look a little pale?” Enzan had a concerned look on his face.

Galaxy smiled softly, “I have never been this far out of the city before. I guess it’s a little overwhelming. The shelter is in the middle of the city and there are buildings and houses everywhere. This is really open and vast.”

Enzan gave Galaxy a confused look, “Shelter?”

Galaxy smile widened, “My home. I share it with the other people that don’t have homes anymore. There are a lot of people that live there and they are all very nice.”

Enzan looked shocked as Galaxy spoke, “You mean you live in the homeless shelter in the industrial sector of the city?”

Now it was Galaxy’s turn to look confused, “I don’t know if it’s the industrial sector but it is located by a lot of factories. What’s wrong with that?”

Galaxy could tell that Enzan was trying to find the right words. What is there to think about? I live in a place that puts a roof over my head and they serve us food to eat. It’s a lot better then the life I was living before. “Galaxy that shelter isn’t a place for you.”

“Why is that?” Galaxy could have sworn that she saw pity in his eyes but it was gone right away.

“The shelter is for people who have nowhere else to go. If you are having problems with your family I can tell you that it is better to live at home then at some shelter that could put you in danger.”

Galaxy shook her head slowly, “I’m not having problems at home and I highly doubt that the people living there would hurt me besides; my home burnt down a few days ago so the shelter is now my new home.”

“Burnt down? I don’t recall reading about any fires in the newspaper or reading it on the net.” Enzan looked straight forward and Galaxy knew that he was thinking of something else. Well as long as he stops asking me a million questions then its all good.

The limo pulled up to a large iron rod gate. Galaxy had never seen a house this big before. Enzan’s window rolled down as a polite male voice spoke from the mounted wall intercom. “Ah Enzan-san we were wondering if you were going to come.”

“Yes Glyde I came. I brought a guest if that's all right?”

The voice spoke again, “Of course Enzan-san. Yaito-sama wouldn’t mind at all. Please come in.” As the voice finished speaking the gates slid open and the limo started up the long driveway. Galaxy stared out her window at all the perfectly sculpted hedges that lined the driveway.

“This Yaito-san must have a lot of gardeners on her staff to keep these hedges looking so perfect.” Galaxy said more to herself then Enzan and was surprised when he replied.

“I believe that it is Yaito’s soul purpose in life to be perfect at everything and own everything that she can get her hands on.”

Galaxy glanced sideways at Enzan, “No one is perfect no matter how much they seem to be. Besides what is the point in owning everything when you couldn’t possible use it all.”

Enzan chuckled, “Why don’t you try and explain that to her.”

Galaxy was about to reply but the limo slowed down and finally came to a stop in front of an expansive marble staircase. The driver climbed out and walked over to Galaxy’s door. Galaxy climbed out and breathed in the fresh air. I hate small spaces like that. At least that car was a lot bigger inside then the taxi I took earlier today.

“Enzan!” Galaxy turned at the sound of the voice and just barely noticed the young boy running ran the stairs as he flew towards Enzan. “I was hoping you would show up! I see you survived this afternoon.”

Does this boy know about the virus attack? Enzan shrugged his shoulders as he casually replied, “I barely survived. It was more of a waste of my time.” What is he talking about? Oh! The interviews with those people in his lobby.

Galaxy walked around the car and stood beside Enzan as she finally got a good look at the overly excited boy. He was quiet a bit shorter then Enzan and wore a large blue bandana with a navi icon on it. I think that he has a permanent grin on his face. Galaxy couldn’t help but smile at the young man.

“Who’s your friend Enzan?”

Enzan looked to Galaxy before he turned back to the young man, “This is Galaxy. Galaxy this is Hikari Netto.”

Netto held out his hand to Galaxy and she took it smiling as they both said, “Nice to meet you.”

“She’s my new assistant.” Galaxy did a double take as Netto jumped up excitedly and shook her hand again. He was saying something but Galaxy was staring incredulously at Enzan. Netto slapped Enzan on the shoulder as he ran back inside yelling something over his shoulder but still Galaxy stared at Enzan.

“I’m your what?” Galaxy placed her hands on her hips.

Enzan grinned sheepishly, “I wanted to ask you earlier but everything happened so fast.”

Galaxy narrowed her eyes at Enzan, “We need to talk.”

Enzan and Galaxy entered the house and he did his normal greet before he said that he needed to talk to Galaxy alone for a minute. Why is she so mad? She is after all the perfect candidate for the position. I thought that she would be happy to have a really good job since she is living in a homeless shelter. Enzan walked down the hall and opened the first door he came upon. It led into a sitting room of some kind. Enzan held the door open for Galaxy and closed it behind her. Enzan turned and flinched. She was giving him that look again.

“If you wanted me to be your assistant you should have found the time to ask me. You’ve only known me for a few hours and you’re saying that I’m perfect for the job?!”

Enzan backed up a few spaces, “I may have only known you for a few hours but in those few hours you have shown me your skills and I’ve seen everything I need to to know that tell me you are the right choice.”

Galaxy shook her head as she walked more into the room, “I can’t be your assistant Enzan-san and I’m not perfect for the position.”

Enzan walked after Galaxy, “How can you say that? I have never seen such amazing programming skills in someone as young as you.”

Galaxy laughed hollowly, “Amazing programming skills… You need to find someone else Enzan-san. The ones that applied should be the ones that you consider.”

Enzan shook his head, “They aren’t even close to qualified.”

Galaxy looked over her shoulder at Enzan and he almost gasped at the sadness in her eyes, “Nor am I.”

Enzan jumped as someone pounded on the door, “You two can talk business later! Come on out we are having a netbattle tournament out here!”

Enzan was about to yell back at Netto but Galaxy cut him off, “We’re coming Netto-san!” Enzan listened as Netto’s footsteps fell away. “Come on Enzan-san. We have some netbattling to do.” Galaxy walked right past Enzan and out into the hall. What was she talking about? I really need to find out who she really is. Enzan followed after Galaxy as he closed the door behind him.

Netto watched in awe as Galaxy’s navi defeated Tohru’s Iceman in three moves. Wow! She’s really quick on the downloads and her battle chips are something. I’ve never heard of a few of them. Galaxy jacked out and walked over to shake Tohru’s hand.

“Nice battle Tohru-san. Iceman is a good navi to have.”

Tohru blushed slightly as he shook her hand. “Thanks and your navi is really good too.”

Galaxy smiled back as she walked over to Meiru and Yaito as Netto jumped up and got ready to netbattle against Dekao. It had been awhile since he had netbattle against Gutsman. “You ready Rockman!”

“You bet I am Netto-kun!” Netto pointed his blue PET at the panel as Rockman jacked in. Dekao followed suit and soon Rockman and Gutsman were facing off against each other.

“We’re not going to hold back Netto. Just because you’re a Net Savoir now doesn’t mean you get special treatment.” Netto’s jaw dropped as he stared blankly at Dekao.

“What’s a Net Savoir?” Netto slowly turned to look at Galaxy who was still holding her lemonade half way to her mouth.

“Ermm… Its…a…”

Enzan stepped forward and spoke out for his verbally challenged partner. “A Net Savoir is a netbattler who wins almost all their battles and has entered many tournaments.”

Galaxy raised an eyebrow but shrugged her shoulders as she went back to talking with the girls. Netto made sure that the girls were all chit chatting before he glared at Dekao. “You can’t just state that for the world to hear Dekao. It’s supposed to be a secret.” Dekao nodded as he placed a hand over his mouth. “Now let’s netbattle!”

“Get’em Gutsman!”

“Let’s go Rockman!”

Galaxy leaned on the railing that surrounded the balcony. When Netto and Enzan entered into almost a half hour of netbattling she had excused herself to get some fresh air. Netbattling was interesting to watch but she had seen her fair share of them.

“Something’s troubling you Galaxy-sama.”

Galaxy sighed as she pulled out her purple PET. “You heard what Enzan-san said earlier didn’t you?”

The purple navi nodded, “Yeah and I think that’s a great idea. What better way to find out about what the Dark Loids are up to then being an assistant of Ijuin Enzan-san.”

Galaxy shook her head, “I can’t be his assistant. It would be like living a lie. I could never be fully honest with him and he is already asking a lot of questions. Plus I can’t have him involved with us.”

The navi sighed, “I know but it was nice working with another navi. Blues is a really powerful ally. With his help we destroyed those Trojan viruses without even having to use another battle chip.”

“I know.” Galaxy fell silent as she stared up at the heavens. Suddenly a star streaked across the sky. “Wow!” Then another and then another. Galaxy turned around and yelled into the house.

“The Meteor shower is starting everyone!” Galaxy turned back to the shower and smiled. She had never seen anything like it in her life. The heavens looked so beautiful with all the stars streaking across the velvety sky.

“Oh wow!” Galaxy turned and smiled as Meiru stood beside.

“I knew that this was going to be perfect to watch at my house.” Yaito came and stood on the other side of Meiru.

Galaxy giggled, “I agree Yaito-san. This place is perfect to watch it from.”

Soon Enzan and Netto joined everyone outside as they watched in excited silence as the meteors cascaded across the deep black sky. Galaxy had never been around so many people before. Is this what it’s like to have friends? Is this what’s it like to be around people that don’t want anything from you in return? Slowly the number of meteors decreased until it was only a few and then it stopped.

Meiru turned to Galaxy, “That was so beautiful!” Galaxy smiled as she nodded in agreement.

Yaito stepped forward and placed her hands on her hips, “Yes it was! Now aren’t you all glad that I had this little party so we could watch it!”

Galaxy couldn’t help herself as she started to laugh. Yaito looked at Galaxy funny and it took her a minute to calm herself, “I’m sorry Yaito-san I mean no disrespect by laughing. But it just sounded to me that you made the meteor shower happen and that if we weren’t at your house it wouldn’t have happened.”

Yaito opened her mouth to reply as a blush crept up on her cheeks. Suddenly Netto started to laugh as well. Soon everyone, even Yaito, was laughing. Galaxy grabbed at a stitch in her side as her laughter died down to rounds of giggles.

Netto had his arms wrapped around his stomach as he grinned at Yaito. “I have to admit that what Galaxy said was funny.”

Suddenly the ground shook causing everyone to stumble. Yaito fell into Meiru who fell in Galaxy who in turn stumbled to the hard marble floor. Netto stumbled into Dekao who caught him. Enzan managed to not loss his balance as Tohru fell against the railing. “What was that?!” Netto stated as he balanced himself again.

Galaxy took Meiru’s hand as she got to her feet. “Gomen Galaxy.” Galaxy waved it off as she dusted off her shorts. Meiru looked around as a strange noise filled the quiet air. “What’s that noise?”

Suddenly the area lit up as a multi-toned dome covered the area. Not now! One night is all I’m asking! “It’s a dimensional area!”

Galaxy turned to look at Enzan as strange green static surrounded her and Meiru. “What the…” The static shot all around the two of them before encasing them in a strange green sphere.

“Galaxy!” “Meiru!” Galaxy reached for Enzan as everything vanished around her.

Netto stood rooted to the spot as Meiru and Galaxy vanished from the balcony. “Netto-kun I’m picking up some really strange energy patterns surrounding Yaito-san’s house.”

Netto pulled out his PET to look at his blue navi, “What kind of strange energy patterns?”

Rockman looked confused as he tried to think of how to word it. “It’s like there is a shift in reality. The energy is warping in strange patterns all over the house.”

Enzan pulled out his PET, “Blues is this a Dark Loid?”

Blues shrugged his shoulders, “It’s the only explanation I can think of. But no Dark Loid we have come across has given off this kind of reading.”

Netto looked at Enzan before he turned to the others, “You guys need to find a safe place to hide. If a Dark Loid is really here then you all need to stay out of the way or you’ll get hurt.”

Yaito placed her hands on her hips, “You better not wreck my house Netto.”

Netto grinned awkwardly, “Ah… We’ll try?”

Yaito huffed as she lead the way from the balcony. Netto turned to look at Enzan, “We need to find where Meiru and Galaxy are.”

Enzan nodded as he pulled out his Synchro Chip. Netto grinned as he pulled out his as well. Together they both yelled, “Synchro Chip in! Download!” In a flash of light Netto felt is bond with Rockman increase as the cross fusion melded the two together as one being. When the light vanished Netto and Enzan were both in their navi’s armor.

“We can’t waste any time Netto. We need to find the girls. They don’t have the ability to cross fuse like we do so they could get really hurt.”

“I agree! Let’s split up and find them!”

Galaxy slowly came to as she rolled over. A slight intake of breath drew her attention. “Oh Meiru-san are you alright?” Galaxy sat up and helped her new friend into a sitting position.

Meiru rubbed her head as she looked at Galaxy, “Yeah I think so. What happened?”

Galaxy looked around and realized that they were outside somewhere. “I don’t know but how did we get outside?” Galaxy slowly got to her feet and shook off the feeling of nausea that washed over her. Galaxy held her hand out to Meiru and helped her to her feet.

“My head hurts. I think we’re in Yaito’s backyard. What was that strange static stuff?”

Together the girls walked back towards the house. “I think that whatever it was was a Da… navi of some kind. But why did it take us?” Nice one Galaxy. Why don’t you just tell her all about the Dark Loids while you’re at it.

Meiru wrapped her arms around her chest as the cool night breeze nipped at their bare flesh. “I just want to find Netto and Enzan as fast as we can. They can help us.”

Galaxy gave Meiru a funny look, “What can they do?” That’s right Galaxy just play the dense friend. Meiru looked like she wanted to say something but didn’t know if she could. “Look Meiru-san you don’t have to tell me if you think that they will get in trouble if I know. Let’s just find them.” Meiru smiled as they entered the back door of the house.

“I was wondering when you two would be coming too.”

Meiru jumped as Galaxy whipped around to look at the source of the noise. It was a navi but not a Dark Loid that Galaxy recognized. Well if I don’t know her then she doesn’t know me. She was all greens and greys but her staff was what drew Galaxy’s attention. Never before had she seen a navi with a staff. It was long and had two large green orbs at the top.

“Who are you?!” Galaxy shifted so she was standing slightly in front of Meiru.

The navi walked forward slightly a sneered at the two girls. “My name is Mirage and I am here for the Key.”

Meiru leaned against Galaxy as she looked over her shoulder, “Key? What key?”

“Shademan said that her energy reading was coming from somewhere around here. This is my first stop tonight so tell where the Key is and I might let you all go.”

Meiru huffed behind Galaxy, “We don’t know you’re talking about so just leave.” Meiru I really admire your courage but silence is a virtue.

Mirage laughed as she raised her staff, “That’s a shame. I guess I’ll just have to destroy this house so she can’t hide here later.”

Galaxy turned and grabbed Meiru hand as she darted from the room. Seconds later a loud boom echoed through the room that they were in moments earlier. “Come on Meiru-san we need to get out of here!”

Enzan turned at the sound an explosion. What was that! It sounded like it came from the back of the house. Enzan altered his course as he ran towards the kitchen of the mansion. Another explosion and a screamed echoed through the house. No! The girls must be back there! Enzan rounded a corner and nearly collided with Netto.

“You heard it too Enzan!”

Enzan nodded as the two of them ran towards the kitchen. Suddenly Enzan and Netto ran into something solid and fell back against the floor. “What was that?” Enzan shrugged as he slowly stood and walked forward. He reached out his hand and it connected with something solid.

“I think there’s a wall here…”

“What!” Netto jumped up and placed his hand on the wall.

“Enzan-sama this is what Rockman and I were reading earlier. It seems that this Dark Loid can create invisible walls.”

“Great and I don’t know the lay out of the house.”

Suddenly two people started to run towards them. That’s Meiru and Galaxy! Netto placed both hands on the wall as he yelled, “Meiru! Galaxy! Stop there’s a wall in front of you!” The girls didn’t stop running as another explosion sounded behind them. Enzan noticed that he could she the girls’ mouths moving but couldn’t hear what they were saying. Netto was still yelling at the two as they neared the wall.

“Netto they can’t hear us.” True to his theory the girls ran right into the fall and fell back. This is stupid! We need to get to them! “Long Sword Battle Chip in! Download!” Enzan’s right arm morphed into his red long sword as he leapt at the wall. He brought the sword down and felt it connect with the wall. Ripples of translucent colours flowed from his point of impact as the wall slowly faded away.

The girls turned and looked at the two Net Savoirs. Meiru was the first to her feet as she launched herself at Netto. Netto blushed as he held her. “Its okay Meiru. Everything is going to be fine.” Galaxy slowly rose and ran towards them.

“Enzan-san. Thank…Ah!” Galaxy yelled out as something wrapped around her waist. Galaxy’s face paled as she looked down at her waist. She winced as she fell to the ground again and tried to push whatever it was off of her. Enzan ran to her side.

“Galaxy!” Galaxy was almost hyperventilating as she fought against the invisible binds.

“Ah the Net Savoirs I have heard so much about. I was wondering if I was going to meet you. Shademan told me all about you.” Enzan looked from Galaxy to the green and grey navi that was walking towards them.

“Who are you?” Enzan flinched as Galaxy grabbed at her throat and her breathing was coming in as gasps.

“My name is Mirage. I am here for the Key. And seeing as these two girls didn’t know what I was talking about I will have to destroy this house.”

Netto pushed Meiru behind him as he downloaded his long sword as well. “We won’t let you destroy this house!”

Mirage laughed as she pointed at Galaxy. Galaxy gasped as she grabbed at her throat wildly. She wasn’t taking in any more air. “You are going to stop me? I am the Master of Illusions. However my illusions are real! Like your friend here. You can’t see it but she is being straggled and unless you tell where the Key is she is going to die.”

Enzan gasped as he turned to Galaxy again. Her lips were turning blue as her face was turning even paler. What can we do? How can I help her if I can’t see what it is that's straggling her?! Galaxy’s eyes closed as her hands fell limp at her sides.

“You’re running out of time! Where is the key!” Enzan glared at Mirage. What is this Key!

Interesting. So far so good, I suppose.

I do agree that your character seems to be teetering on the edge of "Mary Sue"-ness. It seems that she is backing off from it, so that is good, I suppose.

There's also the matter that at times, you use the terms in the original anime, and at other times, you use the terms of the dub. It's not that much of a matter, but it gets annoying at times. It looks as if the original is predominant, so I suppose you can stick with that.

Other than that, I enjoyed this read. Good job.

I know that it does teeter on the original and the dubbed and I'm sorry for that. The first time I saw Rockman it was the original version and I really liked the names but now I can't seem to find the original versions anywhere and here where I live they have the dubbed version. So there are parts of the story where I only know the dubbed version. I have been trying to find places that say things about the original version and as I find them I have been making changes to my story.

Okay so I have been trying to get this story to go more along the lines of the original version. At least in names and terms. Of course I have only seen a few Rockman.exe episodes so my terms and names are what I find on the net. If anyone can point out some things that I have still missed I will fix them for the next episode.

Episode Five
Master of Illusions Part II

Netto looked from Enzan to Galaxy. She had just stopped moving and if they didn’t get her some oxygen soon she was going to die. Enzan had her head in his lap as he glared at the navi. How can we give her what she wants when we don’t even know what it is that she is looking for? When Plantman attacked us before he also mentioned a Key. But what is this Key?

“Netto-kun I’m getting a strange reading from Galaxy’s neck and torso. It’s as if something is truly wrapped tightly around her.”

“Do you think that you could aim for it?”

“Its hard to make out what it is. We could end up really hurting Galaxy if we miss.”

“Well we have to try something. She’s going to die if we don’t!”

“Galaxy…” Netto glanced over his shoulder and saw that Meiru was looking on as her new friend got strangled and there was nothing any of them could do.

“Meiru you need to get out of here. Find the others. We will take care of Galaxy.” At first Meiru didn’t look like she wanted to listen but nodded slightly as she turned and ran from the room.

Well at least Meiru is safe. Now to help Galaxy! Netto was about to leap forward but the sound of growling followed by a howl stopped him. It was as if as everything moved in slow motion. A streak of blue and silver flew at Mirage as the navi screamed out. Galaxy’s eyes slowly opened as she gasped for air. Enzan collected Galaxy in his arms as he ran from the room. Netto could hear Enzan yelling something and by the time it hit his ears Enzan was half way down the hall.

“Come on Netto!” Netto finally uprooted himself and ran after Enzan as the wolf continued to attack Mirage.

“That creature is here again.” Netto finally caught up with Enzan as they entered into the living room.

“Yeah I know and he somehow managed to get Mirage to release that illusion on Galaxy.” Enzan walked over to the couch and gently set Galaxy down. She was coughing but the colour had returned to her face. Enzan knelt in front of her. “Are you okay Galaxy?”

Galaxy looked at Enzan and gasped, “What is going on?! Why do you look like Blues?” Galaxy glanced at Netto and her eyes opened wide in shock, “And you look like Rockman!”

Enzan grasped her hand to get her to look at him again, “We will explain later but right now you need to get to somewhere safe. Netto and I will handle Mirage. Can you walk?”

Galaxy nodded as she climbed off the couch. She was a little shaky at first but smiled softly at the two of them. “Thank-you so much for saving me.”

Netto grinned sheepishly, “It was actually this huge wolf like navi that saved you.”

Galaxy raised an eyebrow at Netto, “Wolf like navi?”

Enzan turned Galaxy and aimed her in the direction of the adjacent hallway, “Something else we will explain later. Right now you need to hide.”

Galaxy nodded as she ran from the room. Netto stepped forward to stand by Enzan as the sounds of explosions and growling came closer and closer. “I think that her staff controls the illusions that she places on people. Make sure that she doesn’t aim it at you.”

Netto nodded, “Rockman was picking up some strange readings on Galaxy when she was being strangled. I think that we can read the illusion they’re just a little vague as to what they are.”

Enzan nodded as the creature leapt from the hall and landed a few feet in front of the two Net Savoirs. Mirage was a little slower to appear and when she did she was breathing heavily and looked extremely angry. “How dare you you little pup! I was told about you as well but Shademan never said that you were this powerful.”

Hackles raised as the creature growled deeply at Mirage. Mirage raised her staff and the larger of the two orbs lit up. Netto barely caught himself as the ground shook. What’s going on now?! Suddenly two large serpents appeared in front of the Net Savoirs.

“Now you are all going to see just how real my illusions are!”

Galaxy ran into the hall and stopped the minute she rounded the first bend. She slumped against the wall grabbing at her throat. That was really too close for comfort. She isn’t a very smart Dark Loid. What kind of Dark Loid would attack someone when you aren’t even sure if that person is the one you are looking for? Galaxy slid down the wall and closed her eyes. Her head was still spinning and her chest felt like she had a few cracked ribs.

The sound of the battle still echoed throughout the house. They won’t be able to stop her at the rate they are going. Yaito-san is going to be so mad when she sees her house. Galaxy cringed at her own thoughts.

“Galaxy-sama.”

Galaxy reached into her holster and pulled out her PET. “Hai?”

“We need to help Netto-san and Enzan-san. If we don’t they will run out of battle chips.”

Galaxy nodded at her navi, “I agree. You know what to do.”

The purple navi grinned as she vanished from the PET. Galaxy got to her feet and ran a little more down the hallway. I have to make sure that the others don’t see me. One day I’ll tell them but right now it is too dangerous for them to know the truth. Galaxy reached the end of the hall and leaned against the door. No sound. Good that means that the others aren’t in here. Galaxy grinned as she heard the sounds of soft footsteps coming her way. She turned and smiled.

“I’m glad you made it when you did.” Galaxy knelt down and embraced the wolf navi. The wolf nuzzled his head against her cheek as a soft growl rumbled deep in his chest. Galaxy pulled away as she rubbed his ear. “Did you remember to bring my things?”

The wolf yipped as he raised his head. Galaxy brushed aside his thick fur and grinned as she found his icon. While holding back his fur Galaxy reached into her other holster and pulled out a silver PET. She held it to his icon and suddenly a black pack materialized on his back. Galaxy placed the PET back and gently unhooked the pack. Once off Galaxy started to search through the bag. She pulled out the white cloak and five small light blue crystal orbs.

Galaxy placed two orbs at her ankles, two at her wrists, and one on her throat. She closed her eyes as the orbs lit up and wrapped around her ankles, wrists and throat creating black and purple manacles. Galaxy opened her eyes as she slowly stood up. The wolf yipped as he nudged against her leg. “I never wanted to use these again.”

Galaxy reached for her purple PET as her navi reappeared on the screen. “Once again old friend.”

“This time we're doing this for the right reasons.”

Galaxy smiled at her navi. “For Netto-san and Enzan-san.”

“Enzan!” Netto watched as the serpent managed to dodge Enzan’s long sword and hit him in the chest with its tail. Netto ran to his fallen partners side. “Are you okay.”

Enzan climbed to his feet and staggered. “These serpents are just illusions! How can they hurt us and we can’t hurt them?”

Netto looked down at his Rock Buster. It was his last battle chip. If I try to change my battle chips that serpent is going to attack. Not to mention that Enzan is on his last battle chip too.

“Netto-kun. We aren’t going to last much longer. I’ve never felt this much power from one navi before. It’s like she’s like Forte.”

Netto’s eyes widened in shock, “Another Forte! One is enough! All navis have a weakness! She has to have one too.”

“It seems that my serpents are too much for the likes of you little children. Now tell me where the Key is and I will let you live.” Mirage suddenly appeared flowing in mid-air. Her red eyes glowed in the dim room.

Enzan edged closer to Netto, “We could really use the help of the wolf navi. He somehow knew Mirages’ weaknesses.”

Netto nodded as he watched the serpents intently. “Have it your way then!” Mirage raised her staff and the serpent darted forward. Netto jumped out of the way as he ready his Rock Buster. Enzan jumped just before the serpent struck and raised his long sword over his head. “I think not little Net Savoirs!”

Mirage raised her staff again and pointed it at Netto. Netto watched in shock as the orb lit up. I can’t get out of the way! The room shook as a howl reverberated through the room. “Oomph!” Netto felt himself fly through the air and land gently on the ground. “Oh its you! Thank-you!”

The wolf navi yipped as he rubbed his head against Netto’s leg. Enzan stumbled over to Netto. “Its good to see you again. We could really use your help against this Dark Loid.”

The wolf ran forward and growled at Mirage. Mirage smirked as she looked at the wolf, “Oh so the pup has come back to help. I know your power now. Now ‘guardian’ where is the Key!”

The ground shook as something streaked straight at Mirage. Mirage didn’t have time to move out of the way and was hit head on. With a scream she crashed to the ground and slid across the hard wood floor. Something white flipped down from where Mirage was.

“Who is that?” Netto looked at the one that had shown up. The wolf walked up the navi and stood by their side. Enzan walked over to Netto as they looked at the new comer.

The navi was dressed in a white cloak that wrapped around their neck and flowed to the ground. They look like Forte. But the helmet and cloak are different. Netto pulled himself from his thoughts as Enzan spoke, “Who are you?”

The navi turned slightly to look at them. A purple visor covered their eyes. “I’m the one that they are looking for. It would be wise to leave right away. She will destroy this whole house and everyone in it.”

Netto stepped forward, “We’re Net Savoirs and it is our job to stop Dark Loids. We can help you.”

Her visor lit up as she looked at them, “You can really help me when you no longer have battle chips? A Rock Buster and a long sword are not going to defeat Mirage.”

“How did you…”

Enzan stepped forward, “We may not have battle chips left but we do have these ones. We can help you.”

“Why you! How dare you attack me!” Mirage stood up and leered at the new navi, “I will destroy you!”

The new navi turned her attention back to Mirage, “You will destroy me? I think not. How do you think Shademan will react when you destroy the one that you were sent to capture.”

Mirage’s eyes widened as she looked at the new navi. Slowly a grin spread across her face, “You’re the Key.”

“I told Nebula the day I left that I was never coming back and that if they sent any Dark Loids after me that I would not hesitate to delete them. So you now have a choice to make. Leave and live or fight and be deleted.”

Mirage floated up into the air as she laughed. “We’ll see who gets deleted!” Mirage raised her staff into the air. “Illusion Maze!” Netto stumbled as the ground shook. Green static zigged through the air all around them. It’s that thing she did earlier. She’s going to transport us somewhere else.

Netto felt something grabbed his arm and suddenly he was thrown from the area. With a muffled cry Netto hit the ground and rolled to a stop. He looked up just in time to see Enzan, the wolf navi, and the cloaked navi vanish from the room.

“No!!”

Enzan slowly opened his eyes as he felt something cold and wet nudging his cheek. What happened? Wait a minute! Enzan’s eyes shot open as he remembered what happened. He had grabbed Netto’s arm and threw him from the area. I just hope he realizes that we couldn’t leave the dimensional area and we have given him enough time to get some more battle chips.

“Are you okay?” Enzan looked up at the navi and grasped her out stretched hand.

“Yes I think so. Where are we?” Enzan looked around. He knew that they were outside but the dimensional area was huge and they could be anywhere on Yaito’s property.

“I think that we’re in a maze of some kind. There are invisible walls all around us. This must be Mirage’s idea of fun. Plus you don’t have any battle chips left and this maze is giving off a lot of readings of viruses.”

Enzan looked around as his visor too was picking up signs of viruses and strange energy readings. Her visor must be like mine but hers is a lot stronger. “What’s the plan.”

The navi looked at Enzan, “You need to download some more battle chips. You aren’t any good to us if you only have a long sword.”

“In order to get more battle chips I can’t be cross fused with Blues.”

“I know and I’m asking a lot but you can trust me to cover you while you do this.”

Enzan didn’t know why but he nodded as his link with Blues vanished in a flash of light. When his PET materialized again he put in five of his best battle chips. The wolf and the navi both stood ground as he downloaded his Synchro chip and cross fused with Blues once ago.

“My partner here tells me that the maze doesn’t reach all the way to the top of the dome. Instead of wasting battle chips and time running through her sick game we’re going to fly straight to the middle of the maze.”

Enzan looked at the wolf and then at the navi, “The middle of the maze?”

She nodded, “Yes that is where all the energy to this place is collecting. I believe that that is where she is.”

Enzan nodded as the wolf burst into blue and silver flames. When the flames vanished the wolf was now easily twice it’s normal size. He knelt down as the navi swung her leg over and climbed on. Enzan shrugged as he climbed on behind her. The wolf howled as he leapt into the air. Enzan was truly amazed at how smooth the wolf’s movements were as they flew towards the center of the maze.

Enzan’s visor picked up the viruses movements before they flew at them. The wolf veered downward and easily avoided the attack. “We need to destroy those viruses or they will just keep getting in our way.”

“On it! Battle Chip Vulcan, Slot in!” Using his left hand he held onto the navi while his right hand changed. Enzan fired off straight ahead of them as they flew towards the center of the maze. Viruses were deleted as they flew faster towards the center.

“Great Job!” The wolf dived as Enzan deleted the last of the viruses that had flown towards them. Enzan held on tightly as the wolf neared the ground. The wolf touched down without so much as a bump in the landing.

“I should have known the Key would be quick to figure out the fastest way through my maze. After all you…”

“Silence! I know my past as well as you. I also know that I will never go back to Nebula so you are wasting your time here!”

Her past? So she did work for Nebula. But who is she? Mirage walked forward as she chuckled. Her staff was held tightly in her right hand as she looked hungrily at the navi and her wolf. “Wasting my time? I think not. Do you have any idea how many dark chips your worth?”

Enzan could feel the angry coming off the girl. She slightly turned to Enzan, “You need to find the dimensional area generator. It is somewhere here in the center of the maze. Her illusions are making it difficult to read exactly where it is. Use my wolf to help you. He can sniff it out.”

Before Enzan could even reply the navi shot forward as a long sword appeared on her right arm. She’s fast! Mirage raised her staff and blocked the attack. The sound of her blade connecting with the staff echoed in the clearing. Enzan jumped slightly as something nudged his back. He turned and looked into the silver eyes of the wolf.

“Let’s go.” The wolf knelt down and Enzan climbed on. The two navi’s were but blurs but the sounds of their weapons connecting rang out in the night air. Enzan and the wolf set off to the other side of center of the maze. Okay the generator is somewhere around here. “Can you find it?”

The wolf lowered its head and became sniffing the grass. Okay this is the weirdest thing that I have seen a navi do. The wolf started to walk off down the side of the maze. Enzan looked other his shoulder and saw the two deadlocked as they stared at each other. Mirage had a slight green glow coming off of her and the other navi had a slight purple glow covering her. They both won’t last that long using that much power.

Suddenly the wolf barked as he broke into a run. Enzan tore his eyes away from the battle and followed after the wolf. We’re getting closer, I can feel the energy of the generator. They were almost at the corner of the maze when a scream rang out in the clearing. Enzan and the wolf both turned and saw the navi crash into the ground. Mirage was breathing heavily as she leapt towards the fallen navi.

“Battle Chip Boomerang, Slot in!” Mirage narrowly avoided being hit with the boomerang as Netto ran into the clearing. Enzan smiled as Netto ran to the other navi and helped her up.

“Great timing Netto. Let’s go wolf!” The wolf nodded as they continued to run towards the generator. Suddenly the wolf jumped back and pushed Enzan to the ground as a blast hit the wall where Enzan was standing moments earlier. “Whoa… Thanks.”

The wolf climbed off of Enzan and once again the two ran towards the corner of the maze. “Yes!” There in the very corner stood the gleaming generator. “Battle Chip Meteor, Slot in!” Clouds rolled in overhead and took on a deep scarlet sheen. The wolf knelt down beside Enzan and he quickly climbed on. A rumbling like thunder echoed through the air as the meteor crashed through the swirling clouds and headed straight for the generator.

“Come on get on Netto! You too!” Enzan held out his hand and Netto grasped it. The other navi turned and took off running. What is she doing? She can’t out run the blast! The wolf flew into the air and streaked away from the maze. “No wait we have to go back for her! She can’t out run the blast radius!”

The meteor crashed into the generator sending earth, rocks and dust flying in all directions. The dimensional area dome flickered and then disintegrated. Enzan closed his eyes as his cross fusion with Blues vanished. He waited to feel himself fall through the air but it never came. The wolf, like before, didn’t vanish when the dimensional area vanished. The wolf soaked through the air until it reached the mansion.

Netto and Enzan climbed off the wolf’s back and turned to look at the huge crater that sat in the ground. “Netto how did you find us so quickly?”

“That was easy. Once I reloaded some battle chips I ran outside and saw you and that navi on the wolf. I followed as closely behind as I could and since you were deleting the viruses I had a very easy time catching up.”

Enzan hung his head, “She helped us and now she’s deleted.”

Netto jumped back as fuchsia energy crackled through the air. “What the heck is that?” A black hole suddenly appeared in front of them. Slowly something started to float out of the hole. “This can’t be!”

“I’m glad to see that my partner managed to get you both to safety.” The cloaked navi stepped forward and smiled at the two.

Netto’s jaw dropped as he stared at the navi, “How is this possible?! There is no dimensional area and yet you’re standing right there!”

The navi tilted her head at Netto, “Many things are possible Netto-san. Hopefully one day I will explain it all to you. But not now. Your friends need you. The one girl that was attacked by Mirage has been taken to the closet hospital. When my partner and I found her she was passed out in the hall. I took her there for her own safety.”

“You took her to the hospital like that?” Netto was still staring at the navi in awe as he stated this.

“I assure you that no one saw me.” The navi turned her attention to the wolf, “We must be going before Mirage has a chance to talk with Shademan.” The wolf nodded as he stepped forward.

“Wait!” Enzan ran forward, “We could help each other. If you come to Sci-Lab we can think up better plans of attacks.”

The navi’s lips drew into a fine line, “I will never go back to a laboratory as long as I live. It would be wise to stay away from me.” The navi turned and leapt onto the wolf. Before Enzan could utter another thing the two took off into the dark night sky.

Mirage knelt down before Shademan. “This was not my fault Shademan. Those two NetSavoirs interfered. I will get the Key back and those Dark Chips will be mine.”

Shademan slowly stood as he walked down the stairs towards the knelt down Navi. “I had such high hopes for you Mirage. After all you were a creation of utmost secrecy. And yet you still failed me.”

Mirage flinched as she slowly raised her head, “The Key did show up. I know what she looks like now and that pup that protects her is no longer a pup. It is a powerful creature.”

“It’s seems that our little Key has been a busy girl while she wasn’t being watched. In order for our plans to continue we need her and we need her alive.”

Mirage looked up into the cold eyes of Shademan, “It seems that she shows up whenever the Net Savoirs are in danger. It would be wise to attack them.”

Shademan laughed, “In order to stop the Savoirs we need to deleted their Navis. And I have the perfect Dark Loid in mind.”

Mirage bowed her head, “I will leave at once.”

Again Shademan laughed, “You are not going anywhere until I have dealt with you. Another will be going at once.”

Mirage looked up and gritted her teeth. I will have my revenge on those Savoirs. Even if it’s the last thing I do!

Hmm.

So far, it is of similar quality to that of the previous chapters. It seems that you cleared up the whole parallelism issue, so that is a thing to look toward the positive on.

If my suspicions are correct, and I may have to reread this to confirm it, your character is beginning to teeter again on becoming too much of a focus in these chapters. Then again, she is seemingly the focal point of these attacks, but you should still strive to keep her abilities in check with the other protagonists.
