Yeah, this is a story for school. I need some help like if there's something missing or something seems too..... crazy..... to be in there. >.>;; ( Yeah, there's one part that I'm not sure of to leave in there. -_-; ) So, well, help out by reviewing! Thank you...
--------------------------------------
The Stolen Key
It was August 12, 2005. Leaves fell softly from the trees near Bunaku Middle School. A small, shadowy figure flew into the window of one of the closets of the school. It crashed into a stack of boxes in the closet. It poked its head from the pile it had made, staring at the parrot who sat in a copper cage at a corner of the room. The parrot sat in its cage, its red crested head still tucked under its bright green wing. The figure then slowly made its way toward the center of the room, where there stood a small pedestal. On the pedestal’s top, there was a small, gold plated box. Slowly, it open the lid, stole away the treasure within, and flew off through the very window it came through…
“This is an outrage!” screeched the principal the next day as he stood in front of the open door of the closet where the crime had taken place, “How could someone have stolen the key to the lunch room?!”
“The window was left open,” said the janitor softly, “I could’ve sworn I had closed it…”
Standing next to the principal were Raiako Misaki and his younger brother Moik. They were the ace detectives of the school.
“Mr. Sodako,” said Raiako, “shall we take care of this?”
“Fine, fine!” said Mr. Sodako, the principal, “Take care of this immediately! It’s almost lunch time, and I don’t want to think of the chaos that would break out if the students aren’t feed!” Then, he and the janitor walked away.
“Alright!” said Raiako, “Let’s get down to business!”
He walked into the closet and looked around the pedestal for clues.
“Find anything yet?” asked Moik.
“Not yet!” Raiako called back. Then he yelped, “I found something!”
Moik ran into the room. “What is it?” he asked.
“A feather,” he said, “A gray one at that.”
Moik looked around the closet to find that the floor was covered in feathers. “Who leaves feathers lying around?”
“How am I suppose to know?!” Raiako screeched, “That’s why we’re here in the first place!” He thought about it for a moment, and then declared, as he point an accusing finger at the parrot in its copper cage, “Ah ha! The parrot did it!”
The parrot flapped its wings as it squawked, “Rah! I see stupid people! Rah!”
“SILENCE!” Raiako yelled, “YOU KNOW YOU DID IT!”
“Um, Raiako,” Moik whispered, “There’s one problem: the feathers on the floor are gray, and the parrot have green feathers and some red ones on the top of his head.”
“Oh…” said Raiako, calming down, “Then, um… whoever really did it tried to frame the parrot with these feathers, but forgot to dye them green! Or… something like that…”
“O-kay,” said Moik, taking a few steps back, “Maybe it’s someone who forgot to do that and has a grudge against the school?”
“YES! That’s it!” exclaimed Raiako, “The biggest bully in the school must’ve done this!” He punched the air in triumph.
“Say, who’s the biggest bully in school anyway?” Moik asked.
“Simple! It’s Gudo Hamiko!”
“Wasn’t that the guy who made you wet your pants at the Halloween Party in school last year?”
“Moik, what have I said about bring up embarrassing moments during the discussion of detective work?”
“Sorry about that, Raiako.”
“You are forgiven for now.”
Moik gulped at Raiako’s response.
A few minutes later, Raiako and Moik were at the PE field of the school. They watched as most of the kids either ran track, practiced basketball, or play Horseshoes.
“How do you know Gudo’ll be here?” asked Moik.
Raiako winked as he said, “I remember Zuaikto mentioning that Gudo beat him at Horseshoes in his PE period. So it’s safe to conclude that my own best friend, Zuaikto, has third period with the biggest bully in school, Gudo.”
Suddenly, Moik pointed at the track and said, “Look! There’s Gudo!”
“Alright then! Dupulede, Moik!” said Raiako as he started for the track.
“You really need to take a break from playing the Klonoa games once in a while.” Moik said as he ran after his brother.
Raiako ran and grabbed the bulking arm of the biggest bully in school.
“Hold it! Stop right there, you thief!” Raiako demanded as Gudo started to slow down a bit, “I hereby place you under school arrest for the theft of the lunchroom key!!”
“What’re ya talking about?” grumbled Gudo, “I didn’t steal nothing.”
“Ah! A thief AND a liar!” said Raiako with a smirk, “That’s two offences I can bring you in for!”
“Get away, ya little grub!” Gudo said as he shoved the detective to the ground.
Raiako glared at Gudo as he continued running. Moik finally managed to get to his brother. He stood next to him, panting heavily.
“Well?” Moik gasped, “Did he do it?”
Raiako got up and brushed some dirt off of himself as he growled, “Either he didn’t do it, or he’s good at resisting authorities.”
“I doubt that last part,” Moik replied. Then, he noticed something shining in a nearby tree, “Huh?”
“What is it?” Raiako asked dryly.
Moik pointed at the shining tree and asked, “What’s that over there?”
Raiako and Moik walked over to the tree. In one of the branches was a small, gray bird sitting in its nest. Sticking out from the nest was…
“The key!” Moik exclaimed.
“Wahoo!” Raiako cheered at he kicked the tree, causing the key to fall out into his hand. “We got the key!”
“Case closed! Let’s go tell the principal!”
As the detectives walked away, the bird glared at them and said, “Curses! Foiled by humans!” It took out a very small walkie-talkie and spoke into it. “Master! The humans have found the key! What shall I do now?!”
“Never mind the key!” a voice from the walkie-talkie said, “It’s not important away. Return to normal bird status.”
“Yes master.” the bird mumbled as it put away the walkie-talkie and went back to sleep.
The next day, Raiako and Moik sat in the lunch room with the other students. They were reading the school newspaper, of which the headline of the day was “Detective Duo Solve Another Mystery! Found Lunchroom Key Stolen By A Bird!!”
“Another day, another mystery.” Raiako said as he put down the newspaper and took a bite out of his pizza.
“Yeah, but I wonder why the bird stole the key in the first place…”
“Me too.” agreed Raiako.
The End… or is it? _________________ MegaMan Kilobit
