Shattered - Chapter 8- Hold me Now PG-13Stream Spoilers

Hurr Hurr, Beware Plant's first multichapter! This is pretty much AU based heavily in the anime to a degree. Especially dedicated to Neko, BE OPTIMISTIC, WOMAN. Ok, enough disclaimers.

Shattered

Netto Hikari skated quickly back to his home, carrying a plastic bag containing a few groceries his mother had asked him to buy. The sun set quickly, shedding a pale orange light over the city as the boy rushed back to his home, chattering with his net navi.

A pair of red eyes narrowed, watching Netto skate through a monitor. Lips twisted in a whicked grin as purple clad fingers brushed against the screen, caressing the image of the boy. "Soon, Netto-kun... very soon." a soft chuckle echoed the dark room, barely lit by the flowing colors produced by the dimensional converters.

Netto sighed softly in his sleep, shifting around under the sheets, unknowing of the threat that was about to come. Dimensional converters emerged from the walls around the bedroom, whatever sound they could produce was not loud enough to disturb the brunette's sleep.

Dark Rockman linked into the room, looking around to study the enviroment. He grinned as he found his prey, laying peacefull in his bed, although, there was no sign of Rockman's PET anywhere. Dark Rockman frowned but decided to dismiss it, he wasn't here for Rockman, after all, the one he was looking for was now withing his reach.

The purple clad navi brushed a finger gently along Netto's cheek, amazed of how deep asleep he was, for he offered no reaction to the touch other than a soft sigh. Dark Rockman smiled and pulled the sheets away from the sleeping human, picking him up carefully in his arms. He looked around one last time, letting out a soft chuckle before he linked out with Netto in his arms. As soon as he left the dimensional converters disappeared as well, and except for the empty bed, no traces were left of Dark Rockman's presence in the room.

"This is just the beginning, Netto-kun." Dark Rockman whispered softly as he held the sleeping Netto in his arms, the room he was in was larger and much different than the office he had previously spied the boy from. A large structure that seemed to be some sort of throne or chair rested in the far end, Dark Rockman looked at it for a while, pondering wether to place the boy on it or wait a little longer. Finally, he didn't want to disturb his dream just yet, and let the human boy sleep contently in his embrace, Dark Rockman's crimson eyes shone brightly in the dark room, the thrill of anticipation could be seen in the red orbs.

"Very soon, Netto-kun. Very soon." He whispered softly as he watched over the boy's sleep.

You so increibly pwn. Not bad for a multichap. The chapter was a ad short but I can live with that. Things went a tad quickly, but I'm sure that will change as well.

Wow.

A VERY nice opener. Like Neko said, it was a bit short, but I've come to learn that you make up for that by condensing all of your imagery, and it was done oh so well.

I would have liked to see the beginning expanded a touch, with perhaps some dialogue. That would have created the false sense of normalcy that pervaded before Dark Rock did his dastardly deed.

OMG!!!!! Dark Rockman! Anything with Dark Rockman in it has me instantly hooked! I want him all for my own!! Seriously peoples, I am addicted to him, hence my screen name! YAY! Thank you for writing this, since Dark Rockman is a character that isn't portrayed in fanfics very often...well, at least not as a main character.

Heh, Planty, (mind if I call you that? everyone else seems to :] ) although it's only the beginning, you've kept his character just the way I like it. I hope it develops so much more as the story progresses! I can't wait to find out what he plans to do with Netto...ke ke!

A very great start, in my opinion. The suspense of what Dark Rockman is going to do makes it very intriguing, and has me hooked. I don't care about the length, as long as the story is good. =D

Chapter 2 - Temptation

Netto opened his eyes slowly, for the first time in several days he didn't hear the alarm go off, what made him feel very rested but quite lethargic at the same time. He tried to sit up, just to find out something was holding his hands. He looked down and realized he was already sitting in what looked like a mechanical throne, his arms held firmly to the armrests by metallic cuffs.

"W-What the..."

He looked looked around to try and recognize his surroundings but the almost empty room was completely unfamiliar to him. All he could see around was the door in the far end of the room, and the chair he was secured to -- was this some sort of joke?

"I see you're awake, Netto-kun." An oddly familiar voice came from the shadows.

"Who's there?" Netto asked while trying to edge away from the direction the voice was coming from.

"You forgot about me already, Netto-kun?" Slowly, a pair of red eyes appeared amid the darkness, soon followed by a wicked grin in a familiar face.

"D-Dark Rockman!"

"I'm glad to see you still remember me." He laughed as he approached the chair Netto was restrained to, amused by the deadly glare the boy was shooting at him. "I see we're a bit cranky this morning." He said as he bent forward to be at eye level with Netto.

"Where am I? And why did you bring me here?" Netto growled, trying to keep as much distance as he could from Dark Rockman, or as much as he could within the limits of the chair.

"I can't tell you where you are, Netto-kun. But I do have an answer for your second question." He paused for a moment looking straight into Netto's brown eyes, "You're here because you're the difference between me and Rockman. You're what I need to be the ultimate navi, the ultimate power. Rockman always had you with him, and I want that for myself as well. Join me, Netto-kun. And we'll rule the world!"

The young Net Savior growled softly, trying to look as menacing as he could, he'd never join Dark Rockman no matter what. "You won't have me! You can't convince me of joining you! My place is with Rockman!"

Dark Rockman snickered before standing straight and stepping away, "I was prepared for that answer. But see, I don't take a "No" for an answer." He brushed a finger over what looked like helmet with a visor of sorts suspended above Netto's head, "I was prepared to deal with your negative. Human mind is so complex, and yet so frail." His eyes shone as he held Netto by his neck.

"Uhnng!... L-Let me... g-go!" Netto struggled against the grip around his neck.

"Shh..." Dark Rockman reach to place a finger to Netto's lips to silence him, "This will only hurt for a bit. The pain will go away... eventually. Now be a good boy, Netto-kun." With that, th darkloid placed the helmer on Netto's head, pressing a small key of sorts on the top of it darkening the visor as Netto began to scream loudly.

The navi took a few steps away and sat down in the ground, watching Netto scream in pain, little sparks and a blue light could be seen flashing inside of the helmet. "If you had only accepted me, this wouldn't have happened." He sighed in disappointment before smiling sweetly, "Don't worry Netto-kun, I'll take good care of you. I promise."

"What do you mean he disappeared?" Laika asked to his net navi, Searchman as he stared out of the window of the plane he was on. He had official Net Savior business to attend in Akihara and SciLabs, and he was barely halfway through the route from Sharoo.

"Rockman reported Netto disappeared through the night, but he had no idea where he is. Dr. Hikari confirmed Netto-san is missing." Searchman reported the contents of an official e-mail sent to the Net Saviors.

"That can't be good." Laika sighed exhasperatedly, pondering what could have happened. One of the top agents of the Net Saviors was missing in such times, and he was almost certain Netto's disappearance wasn't his own doing. "I have a very bad feeling about this."

Oh joy.

Another thrilling read, to say the least. I absolutely concur--when it is any of the Dark navis or the Darkloids themselves, it's feasible to think that torture, whether physical or mental, will rear its ugly head.

As for Laika showing up first, I really didn't pay any heed to it, but now that you have dropped that hint, perhaps it is something to read into...

Weee here I go again, beware of rather morbid content ahead. This chapter is the set up for what's about to come. >_> you're warned!

Chapter 3 - Sins

Laika growled softly as he climbed down the stairs of the plane in rushed strides, with evident urgency to reach the Net Saviors Headquarters. A constant ache in his chest kept bothering him, he knew something was very wrong, and he couldn't place exactly what or where.

"Laika-kun!"

He heard a familiar voice call for him, he turned around, finding the vehicle of Commander Kifune.

"Commander!" Laika ran towards the car, quickly disappearing into it as Manabe began to drive towards the Net Savior's Headquarters.

"I'm so glad you're here, Laika-kun. This is bad, we've been searching for Netto-kun for hours to no avail. We're at loss here. Enzan-kun is in his way from Amerope right now as well." Kifune crossed his arms over his chest, looking forward into the road, but it was obvious for Laika how disgrunted and concerned the commander was.

"Are there any clues or traces left? Does Rockman know anything?" The aqua haired boy inquired.

"None. Rockman claims that Netto went to sleep at his usual bed time, and this morning, when he tried to wake him up there was absolutely no answer. Our officers searched through the house and the nearby areas. The doors were locked and nobody forced through them, the window of his bedroom was locked as well. All that was left was his bed undone, and his clothes were left as well, it's so strange and confusing." Kifune rubbed his chin.

Laika, however, was pondering the situation and whatever information was avaible. If Netto's clothes were in his bedroom that meant he didn't leave on his own, if so, then how someone could enter the house and leave it without forcing the locks of the doors and windows? Unless... the kidnapper wasn't human. Suddenly, he gasped in realization. "Dimensional Area!"

"Dimensional Area?" Manabe asked as she parked the vehichle in the Headquarters.

"The only way someone could enter a room without forcing the locks, windows and take Netto away without any trace being left is a Navi within a dimensional area." He explained as his expression darkened. "I can only think the Darkloids are behind this. Netto wouldn't go anywhere without his PET and Rockman."

Kifune and Manabe exchanged glances before looking at the Sharro soldier. What could the Darkloids want Netto for?

Dark Rockman rested his elbow in his knee, then rested his head in his hand, watching iddly as Netto struggled and shoke in the chair. He was in obvious pain, but his screams were now mere whimpers, several hours of that treatment had finally worn him out. Dark Rockman was smiling contently, he was certain it was just a matter of hours before Netto would surrender.

The helmet placed in Netto's head had a screen proyecting in the dark visor, as two small needles seemed to send small shockwaves to keep his eyes open. The images that displayed in the visor were by far something he had never been submitted to -- the cruelty the human kind was capable to inflict to itself. He had fought many people he considered evil and rotten inside, he had witnessed the emulated cruelty of net navis between each other. But to face scenes of the cruelty of war, hunger, abuse, all the things a man could do to one another without contemplation... it was too much for him to bear. Why was he risking his own life for them? Was his sacrifice and his friends really worth it for a world full of hatred and hurt? Protect humans so they could hurt each other in peace? Netto's mind was overloading with all the information forced into his head.

Dark Rockman chuckled softly, waiting patiently until Netto was ready to accept his offer.

"Enzan-sama?" Blues asked softly, IPC's jet was about to land.

"I'm fine Blues, just worried. Any news yet?" Enzan prepared for the landing, just as laika, he had the feeling something was very, very wrong.

"Laika-san arrived to the Headquarters already, apparently he suspects it could have been a Darkloid. There's no news about Netto-san's location yet."

Enzan growled and nodded, sitting straight for the landing. If he was worried to begin with, he was worried sick now, "Netto..."

Awesome. Just plain awesome.

Everything seems to be falling into place, and it doesn't look too good for anyone except Dark Rockman. This chapter leaves me with suspense; what will happen next?

Damn.

The middle is obviously the nugget of gold in the vein of quartz. That porion was written rather well, and did a fabulous job of compressing many of the expected emotions involved with the darkness and placed in into an extremely charged paragraph.

Excellent job, and it leaves the reader desiring a LOT for the future.
