What is the first RPG you've ever played?

Like the topic says, what is the first RPG you've ever played? You could've rented it, own it, or just have played it once. I can't really remember myself, but I know for a fact it was either Super Mario RPG or Pokemon Blue.

The first RPG I ever played was Pokemon Yellow. A lot of people nowadays say that they're "old school", but I think the Pokemon games are still strong!

Yes, the Pokemon games are still burning strong. Just look at the sales charts in videogame magazines. And they're making some new Pokemon games for DS. Oh, and congrats on the 1000 posts, Elemental!

Super Mario RPG in 96. This was also the game that got me hitting the "Confirm" button upon attacking in every RPG I've played since.

edit: oh, right, i forgot about Dragon Warrior 1 :o

Mine was Pokemon Red... it was so funny on my take on the concept... I mean... I never knew WHAT in Sam Hell an RPG was... I thought it would have been some type of wierd side scroller. When I finally got to the game... I was like... what the hell?

I think it was Pokemon Red. Or Blue. One of those. ^ ^; Either way, I really sucked when I first started playing it. I couldn't even pronounce "Geodude." o_O

My first RPG was Final Fantasy II for the SNES. Though I was pretty sucky at the game back then. I couldn't get past that one antlion boss because I never used potions ^^;; Also I remember waaaaaay back when I read about pokemon in a magazene and it said it was coming to america in a few months. Who'd of thought it be around nearly my whole life

Pokemon Red, those were the good old days with me and my cousins/friends battled/traded pokemon. A good game for road trips too. ^___^

im not very sure but i believe it was the legend of zelda, a link to the past.... damn, everyone except me hated this game( around my home) so my friend gave it to me XD .....so good times....

Super Mario RPG was my first. I really liked this game mainly cause of the exploring, not the battles. Sadly, I have never beaten this game. I only rented it. The 1 boss I despised the most was that giant squid. The farthest I've gotten was right before the final boss. Since this is rented, others have obviously played it before me. They managed to get me that far. =P I'd really like to play that game again 1 day Sad

ah yes, the giant squid. Or as I called him when I first played it, Mr.Stupid Octopus (I was 7 years old, get offa me!). Although I thik the hardest boss for me in that game was either Exor, Smithy, or Culex. Man, I loved the music when you fought Culex, and when you defeated him (A remix of Final Fantasy II/IV's Battle music and Victory music. Thank you, Square!)

I can't remember if my first RPG was either "Super Mario RPG", or
"Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past" (although, i think the latter is most likely)...
I really DID enjoyed them, a looooooooong time ago...boy, that takes me back Smile
