Beast ep 1: "Beyondard" Review and Opening/Ending

Yosh. I enjoyed this episode so much that I figured I'd do the summary. :P

For a theme some that starts with the words "Olé! Olé!" it's surprisingly good. I'm uploading videos of the theme songs as I type this. Rockman's even in the opening more than twice. Awesome. XD

The ep starts out with a dimensional area forming over a plane and (after Netto/R-Rockman falls out of it) R-Rockman, R-Searchman and R-Blues fly out of it on jetpacks and land on a nearby island. There, the fight off many viruses as a hand holding a stopwatch occasionally appears.

After fighting their way to the top of a tower, the boys are told that they've done well in their test. Meijin, Kifune, Manabe and Yuuichirou are waiting for them and we get a long pause to look at the three new PETs (it seems that Blues and Laika have iPod-style PETs while Netto has a Mini, complete with wrist strap! I only wish I was kidding) before we go to...

TITLE SCREEN'D: "Beyondard"

Yuuichirou and Meijin talk about how great the new PET is, enabling them to access chips faster and improve their timing. It apparantly is great for Cross Fusion, and it's all thanks to IPC! Netto seems to think that things are a little boring now that Duo's crisis has passed, however, because what good is Cross Fusion without some event to use it for? Rockman lectures him, (foreshadowing, anyone?) and gives us a look at the PET's holographic abilities. Rockman makes a little buzzing noise as he appears in holo form on Netto's shoulder - Searchman and Blues follow suit.

Panning away from the Net Saviors, we see Bubbleman frozen in a block of ice...but as an energy beam tears through the building, the ice is melted and he tumbles out. As he wonders where he is, he hears a baby's cry...lying beside a portal to a gloomy virus-infested forest ("Am I dreaming?") is a Navi baby. As the beasts come forth from the panel, he flees with the baby in his arms.

In the sky, a fighter plane explodes as it makes contact with the two huge, partially-visible beasts that have emerged. A mine collapses and buildings crumble - power goes out - alarms are sounding in Net Savior HQ. Unsurprisingly, Yuuichirou tells the gang that it's being caused by monsters that came from the cyberworld...

And we have an eyecatch! It's Rockman holding his buster aloft, while Netto stands behind him with a chip in his hand. The PET is in the background.

Netto: "Rockman.EXE!"
Rock: "Beast!"

Eyecatch 2 is the same shot, but the dialogue is reversed.

Cut to something completely different! Aquaman and Iceman, in Net City, are using their abilities to form a skating rink. Roll jubilantly skates while Numebrman screams and cries "SOMEBODY STOP ME!"

Shift to Bubbleman, trudging through Net City with the baby on his back. (The little guy's actually pretty cute when he's crying.) As he looks up, Bubbleman passes out on the street with the baby screaming. He draws a crowd, and catches the attention of Gutsman, who is walking by. He recalls a memory of Colonel in their last standoff against Bubbleman, where a Kouri Hougan is used to freeze the Darkloid.

....Bubbleman comes to, lying on a stack of blocks. Hearing the baby crying, he follows the sound and discovers Roll, who is trying to calm the little guy with Gutsman's "help". (The kid has really cute theme music!) Bubbleman, recognizing his chance, tried to escape but Numberman barrels into him and before he can flee, he's mobbed/glomped by Aquaman and Iceman, who are thrilled that he's awake and okay.

In the cafeteria, Laika, Enzan and Netto are talking over tea. Rockman interrupts to announce a phone call from Meiru - and Netto tells her not to call unless it's an emergency, bcause he's in an Important Meeting. Meiru interrupts him to tell him to plug Rockman in right now, and bring Searchman and Blues too. When Enzan tries to ask what for, she snaps at him. "IT'S FINE, JUST COME ON."

Rockman greets Bubbleman with relative enthusiasm, but Bubbleman is unsurprisingly cold. ^^; After a little coaxing he tells Rockman off, saying that he's still a Darkloid, you know, and "you Net Navis are the enemy!" Meanwhile, Blues and Searchman are trying to calm the baby, who's pulling at their cheeks and wailing. Rock wants to leave it to them, but Blues insists that he take the kid...who, of course, immediately starts giggling. It's decided, to Rock's dismay, that he will care for the baby. Meanwhile, Netto-tachi have NO idea where it came from, but they suggest that Rockman give it a name. He doesn't, but they've been calling it Aka-chan (it just means 'baby' but is used pretty widely) so I will too.

The power in Net Savior HQ dies. When the lights return, Enzan, Laika and Netto run to the main room to brief themselves. Huge areas of the city are being trashed, and Yuuichirou (always on top of things) determines that its the same monsters as before. They seem to use an energy sensor to get a look and the beasts, and restate that they are very definitely from the cyberworld. Netto's a bit too enthusiastic that they'll get to test out the new PET capabilities. ^^;;

Suddenly the two beasts are visibled, duking it out and destroying things. The boys Cross Fuse with the help of the Dimensional Area. Those jetpacks that make them fly are neat. XD Anyway, Program Advances aren't having any effect on the beasts, to everyones dismay. The beasts are crackling with energy, and disappear again.

Internet City's being trashed now, and Bubbleman sees another chance to escape. He does so - the Net Saviors plug-in, and Rock appears to save Roll and the baby from being blown away. Rock tells Roll to escape, but she hands him Aka-chan...and the baby starts reacting to him in an unexpected way. It glows and obscures Rockman, who undergoes a painful-looking transformation...the Greiga Beast Out form is bulky and seething. He growls as he attacks the giant beasts head-on. Shocked, Blues and Searchman just watch, and Rockman changes to the Faltzer Beast form. The enemy is hit hard. (Blues and Searchman's expressions are great here. XD) Then, out of the smoke walks a reverted Rockman with the baby in his arms...Blues steps forward to help, but the Beasts seem poised for attack before they fizzle into nothing. The two Navis run towards Rockman, who is unconscious, while Aka-chan giggles to himself...

Ending theme! See links to download it. Features the major players (Laika, Enzan, Dingo, Dekao, and Meiru, along with their Navis and PETs) while Netto skates alongside. A slower song, very soothing and nice. ^^

i wonder if meiru jumps at netto and hugs him again, just like the axess and stream openings.

just be patience little grasshopper, she will do it eventually when she has time. Uploading an ep takes time you know, and Ryouko does have a social live, she is not obligated to upload anything.

Can I ask a question? Do we see Rock's Beast Outs in the opening? I'm not sure why I just think they will show the Beast Henshins in the Op.

Are the henshins like the CF ones or just Rock sillhoutted and his body shape changes?

Does it show any of the Crosses either?

Yeah. Is it like what we saw in the preview for Beast? What actually appears in the Op then?
