Not that anybody on this forum would ever be fooled by these rediculous rip-offs. But, just in case, and also for the sake of alittle entertainment, I'll warn you all anyway!
Currently, there are two products on the market which are meant to look like two of the major hand-held video game systems: The Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS.
Below are links to video reviews of these horrible knock-off products.

Do they really think we're that stupid? x.x _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\

Saw the POP station last month, but I haven't seen the DS clone.
THIS WOULD MAKE AN AWESOME CHRISTMAS PRESENT |

LOL I agree. It would be so evil to get one of these and put it in a real PSP or DS box and give it to someone as a gag gift. I wonder how much they run. Probably too much to bother with. Those videos are great.
It doesn't surprise me though. There are knock offs of knock offs out there so you have to watch out. But man, thats just funny. _________________ Power wielded by incompetance leads to nothing but self destruction. |

Heh. If it works no less than the real thing, I'd try it. I won't buy it, of course. Besides, how many rip-offs are as good as the real thing? _________________ My deviantART... |

I had a feeling that someone would try to make a cheap knock-off of the Nintendo DS seeing that the handheld has been doing so well, but I wasn't expecting someone to do the same with the PSP and so soon on both accounts. Yet this adds another chapter to the dark side of the video game industry. Nintendo and Sony should sue as this must surely breach copyright violations. Either way, thanks for the heads up on this PlaguedOne. |

And what's unfortunate is that people fall for these horrible knockoffs.
I think we had a guy in that fell for a knockoff of the PSOne that he bought from some guy off the street.
Really sad. _________________

I hate things like this.. When they do something so stupid trying to get us to buy it.. *sighs* I own a REAL DS. And I wouldn't want anything else.
People who make those stuff have WAY to much time on there hands. _________________

you know, I wonder whether it is the same price as a DS or not, cause if it's really cheap I might actually send out for one to show to my friends and then destroy it before they know it's not real. |

I'm tempted to think it is more of a matter of people wanting to make a quick dollar. Even so, a semi-shrewd customer would be able to tell that these things are fakes--after all, they are not endorsed by the big names. That, and the seemingly cheap price tag lures the foolhardy consumers in and makes the bootleggers money. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I don't believe it...
This is just as pathetic, as a playstation rip-off (Gamestation), who only had hacked Nes games and that's it...
I mean, pirates must be REALLY dumb, if they think that they could at least sell one of these, "things"... >_< _________________ Rafflesian's biggest fan! :D |

Does anyone know if the guy has his own website or something? I'd like to download the videos as opposed to streaming them. My connection hates it and the video buffers to hell before I get halfway in.
Edit: Actually, nevermind. I managed to save the web page and found that they kept the video as a text file. Think they're so clever. :D _________________ Net navis are like imaginary friends. The only difference is that you don't get weird looks for talking to them. |

Being the nintendo fanboy, Ill hopefully never fall into these traps. Especially considering I'd never trust a DS at such a low price XP. While not these two I just saw an add for a Videonow XP, which looked remarkably similar to a GBA SP, oh well. _________________
