Beast Episode 2: "Zoanoroid" (SPOILERS)

As I do every time I write an episode summary, I warn you that I do not know Japanese, so anything dialogue-heavy, I'm pretty much S.O.L. If anyone wants to clarify any particular scene, go right ahead. I encourage you to.

EDIT: Oh, and I misspelled "Zoanoroid" throughout the summary. Sue me.

Sci-Lab. Yuuichirou is scanning Rockman in one of those little holographic glass coffin things while Meijin and Netto watch from another room. The baby is in a little coffin thingie beside Rockman, his face pressed up against the side towards Rockman's unconscious body, giggling and stuff. Yuuichirou scans the baby too.

I'm not fluent in Japanese here, but I assume by the flashback of Beast Out from the previous episode and listening to a few keywords in the dialogue that Yuuichirou, Netto, and Meijin are discussing the baby, the two beasts that attacked from the previous episode and Beast Out.

The baby starts to realize Rockman isn't waking up, so he gets sad and starts crying. The sound of the baby's crying sends electricity out of Yuuichirou's computer. It also sends a powerful sound wave through Net City, causing all of the navis to wrench in auditory pain. Yuuichirou turns a knob, turning the baby's volume down (I assume in it's container). Rockman wakes up, immediately delighting the baby.

Inside the cyber world, Rockman is holding the baby and talking to Roll. She seems to get kinda irritated about something. Rockman seems to be asking her to babysit. Rockman hands the baby to her, and the baby seems OK for a second. Rockman hands the baby a Kawarimi doll of himself and then sneaks away while the baby's occupied. But he immediately notices Rockman is gone and starts flipping out. Roll turns to the camera with tears of her own.

In the Net City, a strange crack in space appears and a cloaked figure jumps out of it. Another net navi asks what he's doing or something, and the cloaked figure grabs him and drains his energy. You can make out his arm as plant-like. The navi just stands there, brain-dead, as the cloaked figure walks off.

Inside a cyber building, another cloaked figure appears in the same fashion, but he's larger. A security navi runs up and two spiked arms come out of the cloak, electrocuting the navi before he walks off.

Back in the cyber network, Roll is under a spotlight, holding Rush, and acting real world. I assume she's trying to tell a story to the baby and make it feel better... You can hear two little navis shouting Roll's name as she talks.

"Roll-saaaan!" "Roll-chaaaan!"

You see the baby pulling on Iceman's cheek and plugging up Aquaman's little hole on his head. (Yes... Aquaman is drowning. Explain that one.) Then Roll, like, shoves something in Rush's mouth... a little white ball or something. (Dunno.) Iceman walks over on all fours with the baby riding his back. Aquaman and Iceman are worn out, so they plug-out. The baby starts to fall asleep and suddenly plugs out too! Roll notices he's gone, and with that, Rush runs like hell away from her.

In a cyber network, an alarm goes off as the planty cloaked figure breaks through a firewall. Shooting vines out, he attacks security navis. Meanwhile, Netto, Enzan, and Laika and their navis are looking over the cyber beasts and Beast Out from the previous episode. Manabe appears over the screen and says two places are getting attacked, one of which is IPC. Enzan goes to take care of that while Netto and Laika go to stop the other one.

The larger cloaked figure gets shot at by Searchman until Rockman blasts his cloak and destroying it, revealing Sparkman! (gasp) Except Sparkman is an oranger color with a different navi symbol. Meanwhile, Blues attacks the other cloaked navi and destroys it's cloak, revealing Plantman (but with a sort of redder color and different symbol). Plantman and Sparkman reveals that they're Zoaranoids.

Sparkman blasts Rockman and Searchman, creating enough dust to escape. Plantman creates flower powder to escape from Blues as well. Meanwhile, deep within a dark cyber network, Plantman and Sparkman are seen worshipping large stone structures before leaving again.

At the Maha-Ichiban Dash, Meiru is eating some curry while holographic Roll makes funny faces in a water glass. Roll hops into the PET to see Iceman and Aquaman asleep by the Kawarimi doll. THE BABY IS GONE! It's seen crawling around the Net City streets.

(Netto and Rockman still say "ROCKMAN EXE BEAST")

Manabe talks to Netto and Laika over Netto's PET but she's interrupted by Roll. Roll, who calls the baby "Beep," is upset that she lost it. Netto doesn't seem to really be all that concerned, but Roll pulls a Meiru and yells Netto's ear off.

Meanwhile, Z-Plantman is seen staring up at a cyber tower. He starts altering it's data or something. Roll is walking around the street, shouting for beep. She doesn't seem to notice the crowd of lifeless navis chanting something. She finds Beep as Rockman and Searchman walk up. They notice the chanting... and then Beep starts trying to reach for the tower in the distance.

Rockman and Searchman rush off to the tower. Suddenly, Z-Sparkman appears at the tower too. He confronts Z-Plantman... they seem to have the same mission. Irritated with one another, they begin fighting. Rockman and Searchman arrive just in time to see them duking it out. Electricity jolts through the tower, which seems to be effecting a building in the real world. (?)

Z-Plantman and Z-Sparkman redirect their attacks towards Rockman and Searchman. In the real world, the building is covered in electricity. Laika decides he needs to Cross Fuse. Blues appears to help Rockman fight the Zoanaroids while Laika calls for Meijin to create a Dimensional Area.

Forming around the building, Laika Cross Fuses. (Solo henshin.) Activating his jet pack, he flies up towards the building. Blues and Rockman start hitting Z-Plantman and Z-Sparkman hard. However, they start transforming into more powerful Beast forms! (Plantman gets furry and Sparkman gets claws and horns and stuff.)

They start hitting Rockman and Blues hard. Laika flies up across the building, but he's struck by a thunderbolt. He starts falling down fast! Plantman wraps Blues and Rockman up in a vine as Sparkman electrocutes them. As Laika falls, he aims back up and blasts something before re-activating his jet-pack. This cancels Plantman and Sparkman's attacks.

Netto slots in Heat Shot, Enzan Flame Sword. They attack at the same time to hit Plantman hard. Plantman and Sparkman seem to escape (strange new animations... kinda like a mix of deletion and plug-out animations... and they're slightly different for both of them). Sparkman is seen worshipping the stone structure again, but Plantman is not. (It's not clear if Plantman died or not.)

Everyone is talking to Yuuichirou about the Zoanaroids, but he doesn't seem to have any idea about this one. Just something about them being from Beyondard, I guess. Roll appears as a holographic image on Netto's shoulder, pleading to Rockman on the other to come make Beep stop crying.

Rockman appears and Beep gets all better in Rockman's arms. Roll asks the baby if he likes the name Beep, and he starts crying. Rockman asks if he likes Trill, and the baby gets happy. And thus, the baby's name is now Trill. Iceman and Aquaman are relieved that Trill has finally stopped crying. At the airport, everyone pleads farewell to Laika, who's going back to Sharo. *GOAT DAMMIT*

And thus, episode ends. Next week? Makoto ends up being this foxy scientist girl who Meijin seems kinda smitten with. We see Z-Punk too, who seems to get a beak when he goes into Beast mode. Punk appears in the real world (which we didn't see this episode's Zoaranoids doing...)

I think she got irritated because she asked something along the lines of "why her" and the name Medi was included in the response.

Unless I'm mistaken, they weren't so much draining their energy as rifling through their data for the local language.

Speaking of Roll, she was funny when she called the baby 'Beep'! ahahahhahahahahaaha Of course, the baby didn't like the name 'Beep'. 'Trill' was more like it. ^__*

I believe it's safe to assume that all Zoanoroids will have the crest of Falzer or Greiga in place of their icons.

This was one of the most FUNNIEST episodes I have ever seen! Laughing

:D Poor Roll having to deal with Trill like this. Laughing

Trill sure was smart enough to replace himself with the Kawarimi doll of Rockman to escape! Laughing

The Zoanoroids sure are something. Maybe the two Beasts are the 'big enemies' of the series. :/

Not a bad episode. The animation could've been a little bit better at certain points, but I did like the transformation sequences of Planty and Sparky, and the art for this one was pretty. The beast forms look very interesting, and I'm guessing we'll be seeing a lot more of them from some of the more popular NAVIs in Japan at some point, or the ones that haven't been used like Flameman and PUNK :D I also noticed the color schemes for the Zoan NAVIs were a bit darker and eviler looking than the previous ones. Also, I agree with Roll, Beep was a bit cuter of a name for Trill :/

What I would like to know, is what is Yuuichirou talking about Beyondard in the end?
A good episode, but the Cross Fusion was kinda useless. And I think that Z-Planty plugged out and wasnt deleted.

Who knows what happened to Plantman... Zoanoroids have strange ways of logging out, I couldn't tell if he was deleted or teleported or logged out or what! -_-;

Pretty awesome episode though, and had a funny sub plot with Roll and the baby. Zoanoroids already sound better then Asteroid Navis, hopefully Punk is the beginning of a trend where they use more new, unused Navis as Zoanoroids.

i havent seen the episode yet, but is sparkmans color the same as his SP form in Exe4? since sp navis(i think) had a slightly different color.

It seem Z-SparkMan work for Faltzer and Z-Plantman for Greiga.

The show will probably be directed on a rivality between Greiga and Faltzer.

It's Zoanoroid, and I already indicated that I was misspelling it. I'm too lazy to go fix it all, and since it doesn't taint the meaning of the summary, it's not really necessary.

EDIT: Simultaneous post! *cough* Thanks, Ryo. It's a shame Plantman died yet again... but frankly, I'm surprised either one of them survived... And I'm tired of Tadashi being behind EVERYTHING. They should introduce Cossack or something and let him screw the world up.

My favourite part was when Roll started badgering Netto. "Netto-san! Netto-san!" *squees*

She starts to tell him how she lost the baby "Beep", and all he can do is complain about the name. XD "Did Rockman name it?" "No, I did!" "Beep is a WIERD name!"
