Keroro Gunso! (aka Sgt. Frog XDD)

Trying not to derail somone's fic topic here. :P I love Keroro Gunso! Have any of you been following either version? It's really great that another group has started fansubbing it and they're doing a lovely job. ^^

Oh, massive Frogness reporting! \o/

Anyhow, finally a thread is made for this anime. At first I was like 'WTF' when I see the trailer about this anime, watched it, loved it. While its comedy cracks me up completely, five adorable frog-like creatures just attract me. XD

My two favorite characters are Angol Moa(Lord of Terror), and Tamama(Private). A lot of people say he's...y'know...messed up. HE IS! It even says in the Character Relationships, pointing to Keroro, "Reverence". Who's your favorite(s) character, Izumi-chan?

Kururu is one character who I've never come to fully understand. He always says "ku, ku, ku" at the end of every sentence. But this ticks me off. Some people only read it for one reason: Aki Hinata. That's enough said. Anyone who's read/seen the manga/anime will know. But Izumi, do you know where I can get downloads of Keroro Gunso? In English please? My favorites are Giroro and Natsumi. ^^ I also really like Aki! She's awesome!

If you mean anime downloads, then you can get those here. The manga series is licensed, of course, so you shoudn't download those, but the books are being released pretty fast. ^^ (And they're SHINY! @_@)

I used to watch the show on a streaming Japanese tv website. I got to see the Christmas special when it aired on Christmas eve. <3 Unfortunately that site is gone now and so I only watch the fansubs.

Oh my. ^^;; Well, you need a program called Bittorrent (you can get it at www.bittorrent.com ) and once you install that, just go to the site I posted earlier, click the episode once, and it will prompt you to choose a folder on your comp to save it in. Pick one and select "OK", then the ep will download, which generally takes between an hour and a day depending on your connection speed. When the download finishes, you can open and watch the ep. Keep in mind that by not closing the BitTorrent window right away when it's done means you're "seeding", aka sending pieces of the ep to the next fan that comes along and downloads it. :) It's nice to give a little back.

I love it! I only wish the fansubbers were faster =\. I'm surprised how unpopular it is, too! It's so funny, I wonder why no one subs it! Soldats releases on once ever blue moon =\. My favorites, of who I've seen, are probably Keroro, Mois, and Momoka. They're just all so fun XD. Bah, hopefully Bandai will get smart and license it soon XP.

I don't want it to be licensed. XD It's a kids' show (despite the frequent nudity in the manga and occasionally in the anime) and it would likely end up on television, where the editors would take out the puns and the censors would remove all the other stuff. And the voices would probably be terrible. And there would probably be no subtitle option on the DVD because that's what happens to shows targeted at kids...which is undoubtedly how a show about alien frogs will be perceived. The manga may be 13+ but at first glance the anime seems much more "kid-friendly".

If it was getting a shiny DVD with Japanese-language option, then maybe I might be better with it. :P As it is, I think they haven't licensed it because of the insane amount of Japanese cultural references and untranslatable puns. I imagine that and the crazy "words all over the screen all the time" typesetting is what slows the fansubbers down too.

I'd love to see the Christmas ep subbed before the end of the year. Like I said, I've seen it before, but this show is impossible to watch in raw Japanese unless you're very fluent.

I've heard of this and seem some (cute) artwork kicking around, but I really have no idea what it is. Again with the stupid harddrive size problem, I can't really download random anime. XD

That was from opening to two random pages in volume 2 of the manga. :P Those are the kind of words newcomers to the language prooobably don't know, at least, I don't. XD

Izumi, you're right about the licensing. You know that THEY don't want any kids to have a lotta fun. :grr: They always cut out the good stuff. Like all the blood in Naruto! And for them, like the hearts of all the faithfull Otaku in the animanga world, the breaking has just begun. T_T

My friend is begging me for me to by volume 6 and later of the manga... He's holding my 1-5 hostage until I get volume 6... or until I pay off my massive debt to him...

My favorites? Kululu and Keroro... and Fuyuki...
