This is BlaXUn.

A...well...not to long time ago I posted about a new game Im making.
A first beta version came out...and now..a first demo.

Theres not really much u can do for now but....hey, you can battle!

Anyway, here are the controls:

Player 1:

Move - Arrow Keys
Shoot - Numkey 1
Chip - Numkey 2
Chip backward - Numkey 0
Chip forward - Numkey 9

Player 2:

Move - W,A,S,D
Shoot - G
Chip - H
Chip backward - T
Chip forward - Z

I also added a program that lets you use your joypad.

There might be a few bugs...well, its not perfect (yet).
If you encounter any bugs please feel free to mail me.

Here are some specs about the demo:

-For now you can only select rockman
-Simple Navi customizing
-Free chip choosing

Soon:

-More chip attacks
-More battle modes
-Single Player virus busting

though it is a nice Idea I do believe it is classified ADVERTISEMENT, which last time I checked I believe is against the board Rules. Sorry if I am wrong and misunderstood the rules but I do believe telling people to CHECK out your website isn't allowed and I beleive the same goes for CHECK OUT MY GAME.

well....I created pet-world......I created this Demo with lots of work......so why shouldnt I add the pet-world link in the game? I didnt type "Visit pet-world" in this board. I dnt really see a problem here. I just thought I could make some peoples happy with a rockman.exe clone for the computer.

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this, but the 2nd player controls don't work.

I was just saying that I thought that advertisements are well against the rules but I also said I could be wrong, I am not getting after you for posting a link I was merely saying I THINK it isn't alowed. I never said you said to check it out or visit it I was just stating that I think it isn't allowed.

You probably missed the part of the rules that say you're not allowed to backseat moderate, too.

The second player directional keys don't work on the selection screen, but after that everything works fine. It's also very awkward playing as the Rockman opposite of where your controls are on the keyboard. The animations are pretty slow. No music/sound makes it seem kind of boring. I was also pretty unsure on what you had to do on the second/third selection screens, so I was just hitting random keys until something happened, so you might want to add directions or something.

but at least the background is groovy

heh, I have the music, but I wanted to give people with modem-connection a download chance...I will add a manual later...right now Im adding a single player mode

It's looking good so far. You've got sprites, animations, nice sounds and nice backrounds down, but having instructions (and perhaps remappable buttons?) as soon as possible would be appreciated.

Also be sure to include some in-game descriptions for the chips you can select; the chip I thought was AirShoes turned out to be some weird kick attack, while the Anubis-looking chip ended up being a life-drain.

And something you shouldn't be concerned with at the moment, but you'll have to deal with eventually is balance issues. Megaman's buster doing a measely 1 damage per hit is pathetic, while the 80 damage LongSword easily outclasses anything else currently available; a GutsPunch doing 20 damage is worthless, but a Boomerang (and oddly enough, a SkullMan boomerang?) doing 20 damage per hit is about right. In dealing with balance, the top thing you should remember is that the easier it is to hit with an attack, the less powerful it should be, or the more hazardous it should be to the user.

Seems like you have some nice ideas.....so....
Im open for new attacks......if you have a battlechip you always wanted to see tell me and I will add it!
Best would be if you also tell me what sprites you would use for this (effect sprites)

Alright , if you want a new chip , I wanted a life leeching sword . It would be called LeechSword . It would have a FighterSword range . Thanks in advance . Oh yeah , and a GospelCannon chip . Not the elemental chips from BN2 , just GospelCannon .

Like Zan said, Kram, last time I checked, you are not a mod or an admin yourself. XP Leave that to those powerful ones.

Anyhow, about the game; it's really well done, and I seriously hope to see the full version coming out soon. (It's going to be freeware, right? XD) Like Heat Shadow said, there are some parts that need to be balance out, as I can kill the 2nd player with the repeat use of Long Sword. XD. You should make Long Sword to around 20 damage, and Guts Punch to around 40 or 50, since GutsPunch is way hard to hit, and Long Sword is really easy to hit. Also, maybe a charge + for the 'option' part, since dealing 1 damage with no charge is really a bit too wimpy for our beloved Rock. (Which can delete viruses in the anime with a single shot of Rock Buster. XD)

Aside from that, the game is really well done. The graphics is great, not to mention the game play (It's actually better than the real EXE in my opinion. XD. It's actually looking more like a real Net battle.) I'll give you a 7/10, since it's incomplete. Hope you finish it soon!

Quite a spiffy game BlaXun. Tried it on my other Windows PC and it ran pretty well...the 1-P controls at least. The background makes up for the lack of music/sound (granted, this is incomplete and said music/sound may be included in the final) although I have the same issue as the others about the 2nd player controls not working.

At least my ego gets a major boost from knocking out a completely idle 2nd player. *bricked and kicked*

Once you finish it and debug, if you were to add in net connectivity and do online Net-Battling I know it'd be VERY popular. A way for intelligent people to beat all those annoying whiny noobs!

I know how to add online functions...but...for now I dont concentrate on this...first come different single-player modes and of course vs modes.....more chip ideas please! will add the drain sword!

A bit lacking at the moment, but with a bit of work this could definately turn out really good.

All the menus you have in place are fine as they are. For chip descriptions, you can just include a little box in the chip selection menu where text pops up describing the chip you have selected (damage, range, attack functionality, etc.). In fact, it would be a good idea to do the same thing for the navi customization options.

New chips? Try throwing in a few defensive chips like Guard and Barrier.

You should implement some most basic chips in the original game, such as Sword, WideSword, Cannon, Area Grab, Elemental Swords, etc. Also, I am not sure is this to your concern yet, but a program advance would be pretty nice, even though I have no idea how you could do that with your system of battling, but I am sure you can come up with something nice. Also, probably some Class classification, where you can only use 2 Mega Chips or 1 Giga Chip or sort with your 6 chip selection. Other than that, I dono. Or you can only use that Giga Chip once, or some sort. Like I said, it's up to you, you are the creator, not us. :P
