Dark Promise: For Planty A/Ro PG-13

Shounen ai. Shademan x Burnerman.

Planty, this is for you because you were so upset yesterday :D Hope you like it, despite it's crappiness >.>;

Gone were the days when there was nothing to worry about. Gone were the easy times when the only thing he had to care about was making his boyfriend happy. The dark shadows of the enemy were slowly closing in on them and there wasn’t a thing they could do about it.

One day, Burnerman slowly poked his head into his lover’s room and gave his sullen boyfriend a small grin. “Are you all right?” he asked softly.

Shademan groaned and rubbed his head with thick fingers. “What is all right?” he hissed.

Burnerman frowned and came all the way into the room. “You don’t mean that,” he said softly.

Shademan laughed without humor, “Yes I do,” he said darkly. “Look around, everything is falling apart. What hope do we have left, do we just stay here and wait for the enemy to come?”

Burnerman walked across the room in a few quick steps and stood in front of Shademan. “This isn’t like you,” he said. “You need to calm down, for your sake and mine.”

Shademan’s eyes flashed angrily, “What would that accomplish?”

Burnerman picked up his fist and slammed it into Shademan’s jaw. Shademan gave his lover a stunned expression while Burnerman looked at him with a somewhat angry and slightly scared expression on his face. “Get a grip!” he yelled. “You have hundreds of navis out there who swore you their loyalty and pride so they could fashion the world into a place that would accept them. Now how will you help them do that if you yourself can’t handle it?!”

Shademan stared at Burnerman who was heaving over him with a somewhat frightened expression on his face. “You…”

“Please…” Burnerman said in a whisper. “Please…”

Shademan stood up from his imposing throne and put his arms around the smaller navi. “I’m…” he said softly, “I’m sorry.”

Burnerman looked very surprised as he was held in the embrace of the stronger navi. Then his expression relaxed and he returned the hug. “Thank you,” he said. “We can do it, you know.”

“What?” Burnerman asked.

“Defeat him,” Shademan said. “You and I… there isn’t anything we can’t do.”

Burnerman looked into Shademan’s eyes and smiled. “I know,” he said.

Shademan gave him a devilish grin and lifted Burnerman’s face up to his own. “We will win.”

Burnerman replied by obliging the action and kissing Shademan. “I know we will,” he replied. “I was just making sure you did.”

It was a bit shorter than usual, I admit, but still not of lesser quality. It was a lot more condensed than that of the fics that you write usually, but I understand that you have quite a bit to do otherwise.

Anyway....this is great. The emotions were on the spot, and they were very appropriate given the situation. I'm sure Plant will be quite pleased.
