Love That Reaches Space; StarmanxSlur (my first fluff fic)

Well, this is the first time I've ever tried actually writing a fluff fic, so it's probably not gonna be somethin too special. Here ya go:

Love That Reaches Space: StarmanxSlur

I was one of the less popular Darkloids. It was always about Shademan and Burnerman. Those two would get all the attention, from net saviors and net police, to rabid fangirls and fanfiction writers.

Not me.

No, I get sent on a mission with Brightman, Swordman, and Coldman, and I nearly die. Hell, the net police think I'm dead right now. What they don't know is that I'm alive, wandering the net in search of something to do.

Oddly enough, I'm the one Darkloid who hasn't used a Darkchip in quite awhile. I'd have to say the last one I used was about a month ago. Yeah, very unlike that Darkchip guzzler, Beastman.

I'm really tired of this lifestyle, following under the command of that stupid bat. Well, it was just a fateful day ago in the Undernet, where I saw her.

The navi who would throw me off the path of the Darkloids forever.

She was following the orders of an unknown voice. From what this voice said, her name was Slur. She was just recently restored back to life to watch over earth while the voice, fused with two individuals named Colonel and Barrel, traveled away.

For days I followed her, watching her explore Earth, learn about our Cyberworld. And with each day, my love for her grew. I even started to ignore my good friends Brightman and Coldman.

I kept telling myself "Today, Starman. Today is the day you reveal yourself."

But I kept cowering. What if she didn't feel the same? What if she didn't like me? After awhile, I decided to chance it. The next day, I walked out of the shadows to confront her.

"Hello, Slur...my name is Starman..." I said nervously.

"Starman...yes, I recognize you. I have seen an Asteroid Navi similar to you." Slur replied.

I walked up to her.

"Slur..." I said.

Than I dropped to my knees and grabbed her hand.

"I can't take it! I have to let you know!" I said, and looked up at her with pleading eyes.

"Slur...I love you! I haven't seen anything as beautiful as you!" I said.

Slur looked at me for a moment, than withdrew her hand, smacking my face hard along the way. She turned to walk away.

"Pathetic." She said.

The slap wasn't painful, compared to my shattered heart...

I still continued to follow her, to watch over her everyday. Eventually, Shademan became annoyed at me, calling me incompetant and he exiled me from the new Darkloid hideout. I didn't care. I no longer cared about him. Not him, my other Darkloid friends, not Darkchips.

Eventually, one day I saw Slur in a a bad situation. She was completely surrounded by Bladias, BigBrutes, and TinHawks. While she could easily destroy them, they kept coming after her, wave after wave. Slur didn't know she needed to destroy the DarkHoles spawning them.

"Slur..." I said to myself.

At this rate, she would be deleted. She was pretty worn out, and was getting hurt more badly with each attack.

Help her. one part of me argued.

Why bother? She doesn't like you. Even if you did manage to save your life, she wouldn't thank you. Walk away, she deserves deletion for being cold to you. A second part said.

Maybe if you save her, she'll be grateful. The first part argued.

Or maybe she'll be even more angry for interfering with her battle. Walk away. The second part said.

I decided to go with the first part of my self arguement. Right before she was struck by a Bladia's sword, I jumped in, taking the blow. It left a large, clean cut across my chest.

I grunted in pain and said "Slur...run!"

"Starman? Stay out of my battle!" Slur replied.

I smashed a TinHawk with a meteor, and than a DarkHole as well.

"Really? Would you rather me not be here, so you could die?" Starman said.

"Well, why are you helping me? You know I don't have feelings for you!" Slur said.

"Maybe...but even if you don't, I still feel the same! I love you Slur, even if you hate me to the ends of the CyberUniverse!!!" I said, taking another attack.

I've never seen an expression of surprise on her face before, but this is the first time I did. She than her normal expression, as she walked up beside me.

"...I do admit, if you didn't intervene, I'd be deleted by now...how do you stop these viruses from spawning?" She asked.

"Those holes with darkness spewing out. Destroy them."

Slur and I finished off the virus storm. I fell down to my knees from exhaustion. That's when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked to see Slur smiling down at me.

"Thanks...you saved my life. Maybe you aren't that pathetic after all." She said, extending a hand to help me out.

I smiled and took her hand.

Maybe...maybe I have a chance... I thought.

Odd apring, very odd pairing, but enoyable none the less. I am glad that you actually twisted what happened cuase he actually was killed and made it so he wasn't it makes me happoy when people twist things for the purpose of making it more enjoyable.

Slur x Starman is quite odd- one of the more interesting pairings, nevertheless. It was a bit short, and I do think Slur would be smart enough to know she should destroy the DarkHoles... but you managed to keep both pretty in-character. I could expect Slur to be cruel at first.

You did a pretty good job overall, seeing that it's a first attempt at a fluff fic. I couldn't write fluff to save my life. <__<;

Cute opening paragraph, by the way. n.n I particularly like the fangirl and fanfiction writers comment. XD
