7 Days... CH 12:Stranded *spoily*

Don't ask. I've been watching The Ring lately, and after reading the manga of it I had to do something like this. Besides, I've been wanting to write a horror fic for awhile now.

Chapter 01:The Tape.

Tomahawkman was going through some of Yuiichiro's files at SciLabs. He was interested in one thing lately: Strange, frightening things. And SciLab was the place to start looking for old strange things.

"Hmm...none of these seem interesting..." Tomahawkman said.

Eventually he came to a file sealed with a code and label that said "DANGER!!! FILES ARE HIGHLY CLASSIFIED. DO NOT READ!"

The navi smiled.

"Bingo." He said, and readied his tomahawk.

After having destroyed the security code, Tomahawkman opened the mysterious file. Anxiously he glanced at the text message that appeared and read it out loud.

"It started as an urban legend..." He read.

"There was a videotape. Watching it will change your life...or rather, end your life. She will end your life. She calls out from the afterlife. And if she calls you, you only have 7 days to unravel her curse."

Tomahawkman stared at the message. He slowly scrolled down the message window. The next few things were a map of where something was located in SciLab. Tomahawkman saved the message file and plugged out.

"Can we leave now? I'm bored over here." Dingo asked his navi.

"Dingo, read this message." Tomahawkman said, pulling up the file.

Dingo read it and remarked "Spooky...but what's so special about it?"

"Check out the map below it." Tomahawkman replied.

"It is a map to something in SciLab. Can we go check out what it is?" Dingo sighed.

"Fine. I guess we don't have anything else to do." He said.

Dingo followed the map to a door in SciLab. He tried to open it, but the door refused to move.

"Looks like I'll have to do it." Tomahawkman said.

"Plug-in! Tomahawkman!" Dingo said, plugging his navi in. Tomahawkman appeared in the network of the door.

"I see the unlocking program. This will only take a second." Tomahawkman said.

He rushed towards it, but a navi dashed in front of him. The navi was white, and was wearing armor that shined and was shaped aerodynamically. He wore a white mask over his face, covering all but his red and yellow eyes. He had two huge katanas for hands, as well as two scimitars on his elbows.

"You...this place is forbidden...leave at once." he said.

Tomahawkman replied ''Hell no! I know something's in that room that's not normal...I want to find out what it is!"

This new navi replied "No. That room is where we sealed...it."

"I don't care what 'it' is! Let me through!" Tomahawkman replied.

"Young fool, why do you and your netop wish for death?" The navi asked.

"We won't die! Now let me through, or I'll have to break through you." Tomahawkman said, raising his weapon to do a Tomahawk Swing.

The new navi sighed.

"It seems I cannot stop you." He said, and moved aside.

Tomahawkman rushed forward and unlocked the door.

"It's open Dingo!" He said.

"Young navi...no doubt, if you watch the accursed tape inside this room, you'll realize why it was sealed. If you need any help on avoiding it's curse, I am the one you should seek." The new navi said.

"Thanks, I guess. I'm Tomahawkman, and my netop is Dingo." Tomahawkman said.

"I am Dyscis. Remember, I am the one to seek if you become cursed." Dyscis said.

Tomahawkman nodded, and plugged out. Dingo opened the door to a new room. It was a room where one side was divided by a wall with a huge glass window and a speaker. Inside of the other part of the room, it was all white. A lone chair stood in the middle of that part. Dingo entered that part of the room.

On the chair was a tape. Dingo picked it up and looked at it. He saw no labels, no cover, nothing. It was just a blank tape. All of the sudden, the young boy felt afraid.

"Dingo...what's wrong?" Tomahawkman asked.

"This room...I don't know why, but I feel a strong feeling of hatred in here. As if a deep-seated grudge is here...let's get out of here." Dingo replied, and left with the tape.

"...And so that's what happened." Dingo explained to Netto and Fuyuki.

Fuyuki was Netto and Rockman's older brother, only recently known to them due to the fact that SciLab hid him from Netto and Rockman for most of their lives.

"That's pretty creepy." Netto remarked.

"Yeah...that's very scary..." Rockman said, hiding in part of his PET.

He was deathly afraid of ghosts, and from what Dingo described, he and Tomahawkman had an encounter with one.

"It sounds like some kind of thing that SciLab probably screwed around with in the past." Starman said from Fuyuki's PET.

"Did you guys even watch that tape?" Fuyuki asked.

When Dingo shook his head no, Fuyuki said "Than let's watch it now. No way something like that can be real, right?"

"Yeah, you're right." Dingo said.

Netto took the tape and put it in the VCR and turned it on. All of them watched the TV. At first, all that happened was static, but than, the tape started to play...

Besides from the 'Netto's older brother' mysteriously reappearing act from absolutely nowhere, which I've seen a lot of times in various different forms, I really like how this is going. Marginally odd, but a good read.

I'm serious though, The Ring was some pretty scary stuff, for me at least. I was skittish for about a year or two afterwards. Of course, in Rockman form, I could find it to be very interesting. I'd like to see how this unfolds.

Okay, I'll explain:

In my first fic I ever wrote, Netto met someone at a tournament named MuraMasa, who was a strange half-human half-navi hybrid. This person had a navi named Terra.EXE, a female navi who could control any type of rock. He and Netto had several encounters, as well as Terra and Rockman. However, most of the time, MuraMasa was forced to be at SciLab. He was trying to get some kind of "operation." Yuuichiro told him that this operation was ready, and that they should call Netto and Rockman over for the operation. The operation was supposed to revert MuraMasa back to his human form. Yuiichiro explained while the operation was going on who MuraMasa really was: When Netto and Saito were just babies, they had an older brother who was 6 years old at the time. He was pretty smart for his age, so he often tried to help their father at SciLab. One day, SciLab was working on a way to merge humans and navis (early attempt at Cross Fusion. The navi used was clone of Forte made from remnants of his data) and this boy, named Fuyuki, volunteered to be the human test subject. The experiment went wrong, permanently altering Fuyuki to a half-navi human. He went under the alias of MuraMasa for those 9 years of being seperated from his family. At that time, the operation ended and MuraMasa was restored as Fuyuki Hikari, only now, he was 15 years old(Nine years did pass, after all.). A scientist confiscated Terra from him because she was considered an unstable navi. Therefore, Fuyuki got a standard navi in a PET and commanded it to do one thing: Search for a new navi. Upon doing so, the navi found Starman, who became Fuyuki's navi.

That's the explanation. Yeah, I know it's kinad whack and not exactly that good, but I wrote that in the days of my first steps into fanfiction.

As for enws on the fic, I'm writing chapter 02 right now.

I don't see why everyone is so freaked about horrors. They seem okay to me. In The Ring, the acting was third-rate, but the special effects were incredible!! I gave it two big thumbs-up!! :D

Chapter 02:The Curse Begins!

The tape played. At first there was only static, but then the screen turned black. A ring appeared on screen, as well as a strange droning noise. More static, and than blood. A chair appeared on screen in a white room. Than what appeared to be a comb going down hair appeared on screen. A woman brushing her hair in a mirror stared straight at the boys. The mirror switched and just barely showed a picture of a young girl. The woman reappeared, looking in the direction of the girl. A bloody nail appeared, and than a house. A cliff appeared, and a wind blew across it. A fly crawled across the screen ontape. All of the sudden, a sickening face appeared with an intestine coming out of it appeared. Another ring, and than a flaming tree atop a hill. A nail was shown being driven through someone's finger, and than a huge swarm of maggots and flies. A table with a chair by it and a glass of water on it appeared. A huge centipede crawled out from under the table. What appeared to be a pig appeared onscreen, and then someone's eye. Another ring. Than a box of detached, twitching fingers appeared. The burning tree again. Than the woman who combed her hair appeared again, still combing her hair. She turned to face the boys, and she looked sad.

The house appeared again. A chair was spining in the air, and then it showed a ladder propped against a wall. A small rock in the sea, and the woman again. However, she was standing on the cliff from earlier. The boys and navis watched in horror as she fell off the cliff. Than a birdseye view of the ladder. The ring again, and than the ladder falling down. Than it showed a well amidst a clearing of trees. Finally, static before the tape shut off. The three teens and navis just stared at the blank screen.

"Am I the only one who feels sick to my stomach?" Netto asked.

"No..." Everyone else said simultaneously.

"That was plain creepy..." Tomahawkman said.

The phone rang. Fuyuki walked over to pick it up.

"Hello?" He said.

All of the sudden, his face went pale and his expression was one of horror. He hung up the phone.

"Oh...my..." He couldn't even finish his sentence.

"What happened?!?" Rockman asked.

"The person who called us...they said 'seven days.'" Fuyuki replied.

"It must be part of her curse!" Dingo said.

"Let's get to the bottom of this, right now." Starman said.

They all went to SciLab and plugged into the door's network.

"Dyscis! Where are you, Dyscis!" Tomahawkman shouted.

Dyscis appeared.

"Here I am. You got cursed, I'm assuming." He said.

"All of us and our netops." Starman said.

Dyscis said "Let me show you what will happen in 7 days if you don't get rid of the curse."

He opened up a video file. It was very grainy, and it showed someone watching TV.

"This was taken from a security camera in someone's house. The camera was pretty banged up, so the film isn't the best quality."

All of the sudden, on the TV the person was watching, the well appeared.

Starman, Rockman, Tomahawkman, Dingo, Netto, and Fuyuki gasped as something slowly crawled out of the well.

"What is that...?" Rockman asked, deathly afraid of it.

"I'm not sure myself...I know it's a female, and she's not alive..." Dyscis said.

The person watching the TV screamed as the dead girl walked towards him. He backed away from the TV. She finally reached the TV screen, and she came out of the TV into the person's house. The person tried to run but the dead girl reappeared in front of them. They screamed as she reached out towards them, and everything turned into static.

"That is all we could capture on film..." Dyscis said.

''Dammit...what have we done to ourselves..." Tomahawkman asked.

"We may get more information tomorrow. We heard that several copies of the tape exist, and that someone has watched it less than 24 hours ago. Sadly, they will die. But we've installed a security camera in their house to make sure we capture what happens on film." Dyscis said.

"Is there any other information?" Starman asked.

"Yes...we have 3 video files and 1 text file here, but they're encoded." Dyscis said.

"We'll take them. It's better than nothing." Fuyuki said.

Dyscis nodded and gave them the files. Everyone went home, and Fuyuki went to work on decoding the files. Late at night, Netto woke up to hear noises from Fuyuki's room. He got up and went into the hallway to go see what was happening. Fuyuki was reading a text file with horrified eyes.

"Did you decode it?" Netto asked, walking in the room.

"Yeah..." Fuyuki replied.

"Listen to this: Her name was Samara Morgan. She was a young girl considered to be superhuman. Scientists did many tests on her. One day, her mother took her to a well, where she was thrown into the well. She looked up through the murky waters and saw a ring of light. She lived down there for 7 days before she died. Some time later, a tape appeared showing random images, including Samara's Mother."

"So that woman...must be Samara's mother." Netto said.

Fuyuki nodded and kept reading: "This tape kills anyone in 7 days who watch it. The only way to escape this is...well, the rest is in some strange text and language I can't understand..." He said.

"Dammit...the one thing we need to know is out of our reach!" Netto said.

"That's not all...watch these..." Fuyuki said, and started one videofile.

It showed a girl dressed in a white dress with long black hair sitting tied by her hand to a chair in a white room. Scientists divided by a wall of glass spoke to her through the intercom.

"Where's my mommy..." The girl said.

"Don't worry, Samara. We'll let you back to your mommy after we run some tests on you. We wouldn't want you to hurt anyone, would we?" One scientist said.

Samara's expression turned to angry.

"Everyone will suffer..." She said.

The video ended. The next one showed Samara in the same chair, but she warped around the room. Scientists were amazed and took notes.

"The third one is the worst..." Fuyuki said as he uploaded it.

"The file description says that it is videofeed taken from an android who watched the video."

The movie played. It looked like looking through someone else's eyes. There was a TV on, and then it switched to the well. Samara crawled out of the well. Her very appearance made water spontaneously appear. She looked darker. Her clothes were no longer white, but a dark murky green. Her long black hair covered her face, and she walked hunched over towards the TV. Her arms hung down, but her hands bent to the side.

She came out of the TV and walked right up to the android, so she was in full view of the two boys. Samara looked up. Her face was very angry looking, and skin was peeling off as well as various other sickening things. The view seemed to shudder before there was static.

Netto was screaming in fear. Fuyuki slapped him across the face.

"Quiet! Do you want to wake up Mom and Dad?" He asked.

Netto replied

"Sorry..."

"Anyways, at the end of the movie, there's a small note saying that they found the facial features included on the android twisted and mutated." Fuyuki replied.

He yawned.

"We better go to sleep. We'll need to be awake for as long as possible tomorrow if we want to solve this curse."

Both boys exchanged goodnights and went to bed.

Yep, there's a Ring Two, but it wasn't as good as the first one. And I'm not even trying to make this scary, really. well, I'm glad you guys all like it ^^. Next chapter, and at the request of ChibiForte, some comic relief with an FMA reference. I don't like how this chapter came out at all, so I'm gonna try to make Chapter 4 make up for it.

Chapter 03:The Resister

It was 3 days since Dingo, Netto, Fuyuki, and their navis had watched the video, and they still hadn't found a way to break Samara's curse. Rockman, Starman, and Tomahawkman were all talking about it in Akihara's cyber network.

"Man...3 days, and we still haven't broken the curse..." Tomahawkman said.

"Yeah..the more closer we get to our deadline, the more it scares me." Starman said.

"Where is the tape, anyways?" Rockman asked.

"I think Netto gave it to Dingo. Knowing him, Dingo's probably hiding it under his bed or something." Tomahawkman said.

"Man...we only got 4 days left, and if we don't figure out how to get rid of that dead chick's curse..." Starman said.

They all looked at eachother.

"Then we're screwed." They all said simultaneously.

Rockman had the anime style overdramatic tears flowing down his face as he said "We lived a goo life, right?"

Tomahawkman had the same expression as he replied "I wish I could've at least gotten a girlfriend..."

Starman sighed and said "Oh KNOCK IT OFF."

They complied.

"Whining isn't going to get us anywhere. Action will. Rockman, you and Netto look everywhere for somewhere good to hide the tape. Tomahawkman, you and Dingo ask Dyscis to help you translate the way to unravel the curse. Me and Fuyuki...we have something special to take care of." Starman said.

Tomahawkman and Rockman plugged out.

Starman was about to when he heard "What's this 'curse' I keep hearing about?"

He turned to see Slur. Both she and Starman had recently become good friends, although everyone around them knew they were more than 'just friends.'

"Oh, shit...'' Starman said. "Well...it's about a game..."

"Starman, you and I both know your lying." Slur said.

She placed her hands on his shoulders.

"Please, just tell me the truth." She asked.

Starman looked down as if he were about to cry.

"I didn't want to worry you...me, Tomahawkman, Rockman, Netto, Dingo, and Fuyuki are all going to die in 4 days due to something we have no idea how to prevent. We're working as hard as we can to find out how to live, but we just might die..."

Slur remained silent.

"I didn't want to tell you...cause I couldn't bear to see you sad."

Slur put her head into Starman's shoulder.

"You idiot...I don't want to see you die...I'm going to help you try to break this curse." She said.

Starman smiled.

"Thanks..." He said, and plugged out.

Haruka and Yuiichiro had gone out to dinner at a restraunt since Yuiichiro had some time off, so it was just Netto, Fuyuki, Starman, and Rockman at home. Both of them were eating their own dinner, which, due to Netto's request, was curry.

"Man...it's hard to eat when you know you've only got a few days left." Netto said.

"Try not to think about it." Fuyuki said, finishing his curry and placing the plate in the sink.

The phone rang, to both of the boys dread. Fuyuki picked it up.

"Seven days until you die." The voice on the other line said.

"Yeah? Well screw you too!" Fuyuki shouted and slammed the phone down.

"Man...I don't need a constant reminder of how long I have to live..." He said.

He walked past the table to go on the couch and watch TV.

"Hey Netto...you didn't drink your milk."

Netto's face turned into that of disgust.

"...I hate milk."

"Well no wonder you haven't gotten any taller over the years!!!" Fuyuki said.

"Shut up! I'm not changing my mind!" Netto shouted.

"That's why you're always gonna be the size of a pea!!!" Fuyuki shouted.

''I'M STILL NOT DRINKING SOME WHITE LIQUID FROM A COW!!!" Netto shouted.

Both of them looked at eachother and laughed.

When they calmed down, Netto said "Heh, I'm surprised we can still laugh in our situation..."

"Yeah...it's wierd. We're gonna die in 4 days, and we're arguing about milk." Fuyuki replied.

"Don't talk we're not going to live. We're gonna find the cure for the curse." Netto replied.

"You will, but not me." Fuyuki said.

Netto stared at his brother wide eyed.

"What?!?" He asked.

''You heard me. I'm gonna let Samara come at me." Fuyuki replied.

"Are you freaking serious?!?" Netto shouted.

Fuyuki smiled grimly.

"I'm not gonna let some dead girl kill me. Let her try, I can take her." Fuyuki replied.

"And if I'm going to get killed by a woman...it'll be by someone who is still alive, wearing a miniskirt."

Netto replied "You're a sick little boy, Fuyuki."

Fuyuki just laughed. Than he turned serious.

"Even so, I want you to unravel the curse. I don't want you to die." He said. "Even if you do stand a chance against her...it's too risky."

Day 4, 3 days to go.

Dingo plugged Tomahawkman into the network where Dyscis was.

"So, you're here again." The blade navi said.

"Yeah...we were wondering if you could help us answer a few things?" Tomahawkman asked.

"Maybe." Dyscis said.

"Alright, first of all, exactly how does Samara kill her victims?"

Dyscis looked down.

"I don't know...Even with that video of the person I told you who died, it didn't tell us much."

"That's fine. Just how do we read the instructions on getting rid of the curse?" Tomahawkman asked.

"There's a program that translates the language...I can give it to you, but it's got a security code to break before you use it." Dyscis replied, handing the program to the indian navi.

Tomahawkman said thanks and plugged out.

Dyscis sighed.

"Damn...if only I could help them more...but if I did..." He said.

Fuyuki walked into SciLab.

"Dad..." He said to Yuiichiro.

"What is it, Fuyuki?" He asked, turning away from his work.

"I need you to look up as much info about a certain someone who used to be at SciLab as possible." Fuyuki replied.

"Sure, no prolem. What's their name?"

Fuyuki knew he was gonna hate this part.

"Samara Morgan." He said.

Yuiichiro gasped.

"How do you know her? Nobody but SciLab personnel is supposed to know the tests on her 100 years ago."

Fuyuki replied

"I know this was a very stupid move, but...Me, Netto, and Dingo all watched her tape."

Yuiichiro looked like he felt shock and anguish.

"Why...why did you watch the tape?!?" He asked his son.

"We were curious about why a tape was sealed up..." Fuyuki replied.

Yuiichiro sighed.

"I guess it can't be changed now...we actually have a reserved file on her." He said, and opened a drawer.

He gave it to Fuyuki.

"Dad...I just want you to know that I'm not going to try and break her curse." Fuyuki said, and left before Yuiichiro could respond.

Like I said, I don't like how this chapter came out. Hopefully Chapter 04 will be better...

Chapter 04:Samara Reveals Herself

7th day, 2 minutes to go.

Netto, Dingo, and Fuyuki were all in the Hikari's living room. No one except Slur and Yuiichiro knew they watched the video. Netto and Dingo were panicking.

"What're we gonna do?!? We still haven't figured out how to reverse that curse!!!" Netto asked.

Dingo said "Man...I'm not afraid to admit I'm scared as hell right now..."

Fuyuki, on the other hand, was calm.

"I'm waiting...she won't kill me...and I won't let her kill you two."

The TV turned on and the well appeared. Fuyuki stood up.

"Netto! Dingo! Behind me!" He shouted.

All of the sudden, Tomahawkman, Rockman, and Starman popped up in reality behind Netto and Dingo.

"What the-" Starman said.

"This must be part of her curse as well." Dingo said.

Samara crawled out of the well and started walking towards them, water spontaneously appearing along with her every movement. Everyone but Fuyuki backed up against the TV. Samara crawled out of the TV and walked towards the 15 year old in front of her.

"All right, Samara, do your worst." Fuyuki said.

Samara looked up at him with her decaying face. A whir seemed to sound out for a moment, and then Fuyuki looked shock. He clutched his head and fell to the the ground, screaming in agony.

"I...can't..breath..." he shouted.

"What the hell did you do to him?!?" Tomahawkman asked.

Samara turned to them and started walking towards them. Rockman held his hand over his mouth to keep from screaming. Everyone else was to afraid to scream.

"Run for it!" Dingo declared.

They all headed to the door, except for Fuyuki, who was lying on the ground, no longer screaming, but heavily breathing, and moaning. They almost reached the door, when Samara warped in front of them. Now her hair was covering her face.

"No escape..." She rasped.

Water was everywhere, and it was even spraying everyone. They tried to run in the other direction, but she reappeared in front of them again, just in front of Fuyuki as well. She looked up to them, and her eyes seemed to freeze them in place. All of the sudden, a hand gripped her shoulder.

"Stop. Now." Fuyuki said, barely gripping her and breathing.

"Fuyuki!!!" Netto said, happy that his brother survived.

Samara's expression turned to surprise, which looked especially scary on her decaying face.

"Heh...surprised someone could survive, eh?" He said.

"Oh, I'm nearly dead...or at very least insane. That little mind trick of yours almost killed me." Fuyuki replied.

He raised his fist to punch her, but she vanished before the blow connected. She reappeared in front of the TV. She growled, and vanished. Next she reappeared inside the TV, and crawled back into the well. The TV shut off. Fuyuki coughed up blood, but he was smiling.

"Heh...told you guys I wouldn't be killed by her." He said, and fell down.

Fuyuki woke up in his bed to see Dingo and Netto staring down at him. Starman, Rockman, and Tomahawkman's PETs were on his desk, with the navis back in them. Their holograms were also watching.

"Hey, I'm awake..." Fuyuki said.

"Thank god! I was scared when you just passed out like that." Netto said, everyone else nodding in agreement.

"Exactly how did she attack you, anyways?" Dingo asked.

Fuyuki sat up.

"She attacks using her mind." He said.

"Uh...how is that possible?" Starman asked.

"Remember how she died in a well?" Fuyuki said.

When everyone said yes, he said "She can project her own memories, experiences, and images into anyones mind. What she does is she sends all her memories, experiences, and images of the hellish 7 days she was in that well to the victim's mind. It's more than enough for a human mind can take, and kills them from incredible mental torment."

"But how did you live through it?" Netto asked.

"That text file...it had another one hidden within it. It explains that if you experienced similar hellish experiences, Samara will only gravely injure you."

"That's right...at Scilab, you were fused with a Forte clone for 9 years, and had test preformed on you..." Rockman recapped.

Fuyuki grimaced.

"It's disgusting...that I have something in common with that dead freak..." He said.

He grunted in pain and fell back down.

"It looks like your mental pain is still somewhat there..." Starman said.

"It's truly amazing that you're already recovering, considering you're the first to survive Samara's wrath." Dyscis said, appearing in hologram from Starman's PET.

"Dyscis!" They all said.

"Samara...she will try to kill you all again and again everyday, and not just through the TV." Dyscis said.

"I must leave now. I just came to warn you." Dyscis vanished.

"...It's pretty late, isn't it?" Dingo said, glancing at the clock.

Netto looked. "Holy crap, it's already 10:00 PM!" He said.

"Dingo, you and Tomahawkman should probably go home." Fuyuki said.

"Alright. You and Netto be careful of her. We'll be careful as well." Dingo said.

He grabbed Tomahawkman's PET and left. Both Netto and Fuyuki went to bed.

It was 1:00 AM. Yuiichiro was spending the night at SciLab, and Haruka was staying at a spa hotel Yuiichiro got her reservations to for her birthday, which was only a few days ago. At that moment, the TV flickered on and the well appeared. Samara crawled out, with the ususal trail of water following her.

She walked out of the TV and looked around. Her eyes seemed to glow evilly in the darkness, eerily illumnating her horrid face. She walked down the hallway and entered Fuyuki's room. Samara entered the Fuyuki's room and she looked around.

When she saw Fuyuki's PET in sleep mode, she held up her hand. Water formed in her hand and than solidified into a very damaged and dank green i-PET.

"Why the navi first?" A voice from it said.

Samara said nothing.

"...Alright. If you insist." The voice said.

Samara held out her new PET and a red beam shot out, plugging in her navi. Starman heard the noise of someone plugging in and woke up.

"Mmmph...who is it?" Starman said groggily.

When he saw the navi who plugged in, his eyes widened and he woke up completely.

"Dyscis!!!" He shouted.
