Broken Memories
Chapter 1:
Discovery and Retrieval
***
It was the perfect day in the Land of Fire. In Konohagakure, to be more precise. It was sunny, there was no chance of rain, and although the temperature was slightly high, there was a light breeze that came just at the right moment, so it never became too hot. It also it ruffled the leaves on the many trees and made them dance, creating a relaxing, rhythmic sound. For those that don’t know, this is the home of Uzumaki Naruto.
“Sakura-chan! Hurry up, or we’ll be late!” Naruto called from the street below the balcony attached to Haruno Sakura’s room. He groaned with impatience.
Sakura bounded down the stairs at out her front door, meeting Naruto at the end of her driveway. She smiled and said cheerfully, “Hi, Naruto-kun!”
Naruto grinned, but remained silent. He was secretly worried about what Tsunade had in store for Sakura and himself; the ninja sent to deliver Tsunade’s message sounded urgent. He hoped Sakura wouldn’t have to get pulled into another mess of his.
***MINUTES LATER***
“Naruto… Sakura… you two probably wonder what I’ve called you two here for. Well, I think it’s just about time I told you that we’ve discovered the whereabouts of somebody you may think to be important,” Tsunade announced.
Sakura asked without turning to face the Jounin that had crept up behind her, “Is that why Kakashi is here?”
Kakashi smiled under his mask and greeted, “Hello, Naruto and Sakura.” He stepped up next to Naruto, and asked, “Where’s our fourth teammate? You know… HER.”
Tsunade sighed heavily and replied, “You know how clumsy she is… she’ll be here any minute now.”
The five shinobi were interrupted by a knock at the door.
Tsunade called, “Enter!”
The door opened slowly, and in walked a girl, the size of Sakura(in a good way). She looked rather graceful, and even her hair seemed to flow in slow motion. That is, until she accidentaly tripped herself on seemingly nothing.
She picked herself up from the ground, and with a childishly wide grin, cried, “Howdy, Tsunade-sama! Sorry I’m late!” Her energetic, black eyes looked vaguely familiar to Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi.
Tsunade responded, “It’s fine.” She looked at the other four shinobi and introduced the girl, saying, “This is your fourth teammate. I’m sure you’ll all get along fine. I purposely picked another Jounin, considering the specifications of this mission.”
The girl smiled and exclaimed, “The name’s Tomake! I don’t really have a last name, but that’s not important. Anyways, I’m a reserve member of the ANBU Black Ops!”
Naruto questioned, “What does being in the reserve mean?”
Tomake purred, “It means you’re not called to duty unless there’s a draft, silly! I only have to fight when all the other ANBU Black Ops are already deployed.”
Tsunade called attention back to her with a resounding continuation of where she left off.
“NOW that you have a full squad, I think it’s time I’ve told you the whereabouts of a certain seceded shinobi.”
“Sasuke!” Naruto hissed silently, with a mixture of excitement, fear, and rage. He had already begun to shake with eagerness.
Sakura’s eyes widened as she responded, “Really, Tsunade-sama? You’ve found him?”
Tsunade replied, “Yes. As a matter of fact, we’ve managed to gather that he’s coming dangerously close to Konoha’s border, in pursuit of his brother. He must be stopped and brought back alive. If you come across Itachi, however…”
Tsunade’s eyes narrowed.
“…Kill him.”
Kakashi said, “Understood,” and waved as he disappeared from the room in a plume of smoke, as did the other three shinobi of Kakashi’s team.
With nothing to do, and no hesitations(except wondering why they had mysteriously found Sai’s dead body in the hallway outside Tsunade’s office with a note that said, ‘I freaking hate Sai. Love, ChibiForte’), the team of four set off towards Konoha’s border.
***EVENTUALLY***
The four shinobi were just about outside of Konoha when Kakashi called to the kunoichi beside him, “See anything, Tomake?”
Tomake shook her head and replied, “Nope! The Mangekyou isn’t picking anything up… yet. Be on the lookout, because although my eyes can’t sense it, I can feel a strong, menacing chakra, that only comes from the heart. As cheesy as it sounds, this chakra is generated from a soul purely and only wanting revenge.”
Naruto, who could hear the two Jounin talking, relayed the message to Sakura, who drew out some kunai and shuriken like he had just done.
“Kakashi! Stop! The chakra is…” Tomake started, looking around intently with her coal-black eyes.
Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura all stopped next to Tomake, drawing out their weapons. Tomake still stood empty-handed.
“Tomake, where’s your kunai and shuriken?” asked Naruto.
Tomake replied, “I only use kunai and shuriken for weak foes. I’ve got another weapon, which I’ll probably have to pull out in a minute. The chakra’s getting stronger.”
Sakura stood frozen in place, staring at a clearing in the forest just ahead of them. She muttered, “Sa- …Sasuke-kun…”
Naruto whirled around to face the direction in which Sakura was facing, and a grim look spread across his face. He growled under his breath, “Sasuke…”
The raven-haired Uchiha turned around, his eyes blood-red, and almost hypnotizing, turned around.
“Yo.”
Naruto, unable to restrain himself any longer, roared, “Sasuke!”
He was shaking and shuddering, but not in fear. No, he was eager to finally reclaim his friend. He knew that THIS would be the battle that ended everything.
Sasuke, who appeared uninterested, walked slowly yet gracefully over to Naruto, while Sakura and Kakashi readied their kunai and shuriken.
Sasuke barely glanced at Kakashi and Sakura before saying, “Hmmph. I wasn’t interested in your precious failure. Who I’m really curious about…”
He glared fiercely at Tomake.
“…Is how your friend here, who must be not as much of a loser as she appears to be, obtained Mangekyou Sharingan. More importantly, how her Mangekyou Sharingan is of the most powerful Sharingan known to man… the blue Mangekyou Sharingan…”
Tomake, whose chin was now being held up by two of Sasuke fingers as he examined her Sharingan, growled.
She asked, “Just who are you, and what gives you right to question me about things I know nothing of?”
Sasuke, in reply, flicked his fingers out from under her chin and replied, “I’m an Uchiha. Either you’ve stolen the Sharingan of another Uchiha, or we’re related. So the question is, who are YOU? A sister? A cousin?”
He glared narrowly and added, “…Or an outcast?”
Naruto, who was growing impatient and furious, shouted, “Leave her alone, you bastard! She’s a Konoha shinobi, and shouldn’t be bothered by idiots like you!”
The air grew silent, filled with tension and apprehension of the next move.
Sasuke merely made a ‘hmmph’ sound, and pulled out his katana. He got into a battle stance and said, “Let’s get this over with; fighting with someone so weak can be quite tedious.”
Naruto retorted, “I’m gonna bring you back, even if I have to break your arms and legs!”
Sasuke replied, “Try.”
***THREE CHIDORI AND MANY RASENGAN LATER***
The forest clearing was dead silent, save for the heavy breathing of Sasuke and Naruto. The two had fought with all they had, and Naruto had now completely expended all of his Kyuubi chakra. He was only able to call upon two of the nine tails before growing exhausted.
"Well THAT was non-epic and non-action-packed," muttered Tomake disappointedly.
It was now Sakura’s turn to attempt knocking out Sasuke, who was already only half-conscious. She prepared to give him a chakra-loaded punch that could even break his ribcage, but was stopped by Tomake.
Tomake smiled and whispered, “Try working for a little more of a peaceful solution. Remind him of any good times you’ve had. If worse comes to worse…” She pulled out a long spear, and cocked it like a gun, causing over nine-thousand barbs to stick out. “…I can always give him a gender-change... or something.”
Sakura nodded, and opened her mouth to speak.
Before she could, her small, electronic communicator all shinobi were required to use began to go off. She pressed a button and asked, “What’s wrong, Tsunade-sama?”
Tsunade answered urgently, “There’s been news spreading over the Land of Fire, very rapidly. In a revolt against the killing of a house plant, Uchiha Itachi was murdered for what was considered by the Atkasuki, ‘traitorous actions against an innocent plant that could have been a tree.’”
Sakura scolded, “Tsunade-sama, we’re really not in any position to make jokes! Please, we’re occupied at the moment!”
Tsunade responded, “I’m not lying! If you don’t believe me, I can go track down Sasori… or Zetsu… or somebody in the freaking Akatsuki who witnessed or committed the murder! I’m not kidding, now go tell Naruto, Tomake, and Kakashi!”
Sakura shrugged, turned the communicator off, and tapped Naruto, Kakashi, and Tomake on their shoulders. She whispered something in each of their ears. Sasuke rolled his eyes and leaned against a tree behind him.
Sakura looked directly at Sasuke, and while even Kakashi among Tomake and Naruto couldn’t help snickering and giggling, she walked closer to the Uchiha so they were about a foot away. She leaned forward and whispered to him what she was just told by Tsunade. She smiled with relief and asked, “You left to seek revenge on him, right? Well…”
Sasuke glared and growled, “Do you honestly think I was born yesterday? I know for a fact that my brother would never allow himself to be killed in such an indignant and stupid way.”
Out of the sky, a dead body seemed to have magically and conveniently dropped to the five shinobi’s feet. Sakura looked down at the corpse in a mixture of surprise and disbelief.
Itachi’s dead body had somehow conveniently dropped from the sky, and now lay in front of Sakura.
Her first reaction was to scream, but instead, she regained composure and said with a smirk, “So… you were saying?”
Sasuke stared dumbfounded at his dead brother. He muttered, “Oh, damn… I really, REALLY have to think things through next time.”
Naruto, who finally collapsed and became unconscious from a combination of blood-loss from the battle, shock, and surprise, fell onto Tomake, who assumed things like this normally happened to him, and lifted him onto her back. She exclaimed childishly, “Whee! Piggy-back ride!!”
Kakashi, who had remained silent until now, reminded Tomake, Sasuke, and Sakura, “Um, we should probably just take Sasuke back, because everybody knows now that Itachi’s dead, you have no reason for secession anymore. So, let’s just hurry up.”
Sakura and Sasuke gave Kakashi a strange look, before looking at one-another and nodding. Tomake, on the other hand, was spinning in circles and singing while the unconscious Kyuubi vessel was on her back.
Before Sasuke even opened his mouth to ask a question, Sakura answered, “I know what you want to ask; and no, she is NOT special ed, and YES, she IS a ANBU Black Op Reserve member as well as a Jounin. Apparently… um, apparently…”
Kakashi finished for her, “Apparently, immaturity knows no boundaries.”
Sasuke looked at Sakura, then glanced at Tomake and muttered, “Um, sure. Let‘s get the hell out of here so we can get back while everybody else are on missions. I don‘t want a big fuss.”
As the four shinobi walked back, and one remained unconscious, Kakashi responded, “I wouldn’t be so sure it’s completely unavoidable. You know… fangirls.”
“Fangirls… oh shit.”

That was kind of weird. But ok. That's the same character as you drew right?
Also, you know how itachi got his eyes right? And do you know what happened to sasuke recently? He's cooler then he was even at the start of the show.
This was also interesting as well. |

Thankies. ^_^ Sasuke had better watch out; those are some pretty damn vicious fangirls. XD
Shitz. I forgot to mention that this kinda goes a little shounen ai, and I didn't realize so until I re-read some later chapters I just wrote. I guess I'll warn peole when it comes so they can skip it if they want to, and I'll put a summary of it at the bottom. Meh, sorry guys. >_<
Chapter Two:
Sasuke no Kazoku
***
Coming back to Konoha would be slightly startling for Sasuke, especially since he had not been there in two years. He hoped to God that the millions of girls from the academy that used to adore him wouldn’t recognize him.
…They did.
A multitude of girls, claiming their ‘Sasuke Senses’ were tingling, rushed to the gates of the village, screaming and shouting. Sasuke gaped at the sight of the girls and moaned, “How the hell did they even know I was coming?”
A pleasant surprise awaited Naruto and his squad behind the gates. In front of them stood all of the shinobi in which they had grown up with, including Neji, Lee, and TenTen. Sasuke was rather taken aback at how much everyone had changed since he had seen them. Everybody was there except for Ino.
“Where’s In-” Sasuke started, and his eyes widened in surprise when something heavy was thrown upon him. He let his eyes grow narrow again as he said, “Found her; forget it.”
The blonde kunoichi had immediately latched onto Sasuke, and cried, “Sasuke-kun! It’s been forever! I’m so happy that you finally came back!!”
Sakura discreetly flipped Ino off, and thought, “You bitch, lay off!!”
Sasuke shoved Ino off of him and responded, “Yeah… don’t ever defile me with your touch again.”
Naruto could not help but laugh as Ino displayed a face that made her seem like she had just been slapped.
Tomake coughed loudly and added, “A-HEM, reporting to Tsunade!”
Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi gave her a weird look, and she shrugged in return with a smirk.
***LATER, IN TSUNADE’S OFFICE***
“Welcome back. Judging by who’s with you, I’m going to say that the mission went well?” Tsunade inquired.
“Yes, Tsunade-sama,” Sakura replied, “Sasuke is here in one piece.”
Sasuke glanced to the back of the office as he heard the doorknob turn.
In walked a girl that looked approximately the same age as the current Chunin, or Naruto’s age. She had short, dark-brown hair that was held back with her hitai-ate, almost exactly like Sakura. Her red shirt was Chinese-based, and she wore black standard shinobi pants. Her eyes looked similar to somebody’s, although Tomake could not place who. After all, Tomake was the only one who didn’t know this girl.
“Oh, it’s Chiro-san. Hey,” Sasuke said casually, showing a slight smirk. Naruto and Sakura exclaimed their helloes, while Kakashi politely greeted Chiro. Tomake, with an eyebrow raised, asked, “Er, did I miss something here?”
Sasuke, who was now standing by Chiro, answered, “Oh, whoops. This is Uchiha Chiro, my cousin. She’s the same age as us. I‘m sure you two will know one another eventually.”
Tsunade shouted unexpectedly, “OH, SHUT UP FOR A MINUTE!!”
Everyone turned and stared. She smiled, although she sounded very impatient as she said, “Thank you. Everyone except Sasuke, Tomake, and Chiro are dismissed.”
“But-” Naruto began.
“GET THE HELL OUT!!” Tsunade roared, making Naruto nearly bleed from the ears.
Tsunade waited until Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto were gone before she began, “Alright. The reason I kept you three behind is very important. I guess I’ll start with Sasuke: Welcome back to Konoha, and I hope we won’t have to pursue you like stalkers ever again. Happy ending, and so on. Next: Chiro, your request to let Gaara come back and forth between the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind at will has been approved. And finally, for what you three are actually here for…”
Tsunade’s face turned almost into a grim expression.
“…is to explain Tomake’s past to her. She’s explained to me that a certain reptilian traitor of Konoha had erased all memories of who she is and what she did before being with him.”
Sasuke asked suspiciously, “Meaning that Tomake has been with Orochimaru before also, correct?”
Tomake nodded her head, and muttered, “For crap’s sake, we used to be lovers…”
Tsunade continued, “Anyways, I’m going to get straight to the point: Tomake, at age six, you left with Orochimaru, and even though you were a Genin, it says in your records that you were quite powerful, and already qualified for the Chunin exams, which you automatically passed, along with the Jounin and ANBU Black Ops exams two years ago when you returned back to Konoha. You can’t even remember your last name, is this correct?”
Tomake nodded her head and replied, “Hai, Tsunade-sama.”
“Well, I think I’m finally fed up of hearing you beg and plead to see your records, and who your family is. Well, now I’m going to tell you to take a wild guess. As a hint, I’ll tell you to look around the room,” Tsunade finished.
Tomake, slightly baffled, glanced around quickly and scanned the room. She noticed the permanent records of various shinobi strewn across Tsunade’s desk, and exclaimed, “I know! I’m related to Mitarashi Anko!”
Tsunade slapped her hand across her forehead and asked with impatience, “Tomake, who’s standing next to you?”
Tomake looked to her left and asked, “Sasuke?”
Tsunade groaned and clarified, “YES, you are an Uchiha. You are Sasuke’s sister and Chiro’s cousin, okay?!”
Tomake looked at Sasuke quickly and asked shyly, “Well… am I older, or younger? Younger, right?”
Chiro piped up and asked, “How old are you, Tomake-san?”
Tomake answered cheerfully, “Please, it’s just Toma to people close to me; and I’m seventeen years old!”
There was an awkward silence in the room for a moment.
Tomake looked at her two remaining family members and asked, “What? You guys are like, eighteen or something, right?”
Chiro giggled, shook her head, and replied, “We’re fifteen, Toma-chan.”
Another awkward silence.
Tomake looked suspiciously at Chiro and Sasuke, but more at Sasuke. She walked next to him, and measured herself against him. She concluded, “…Dude. My younger brother is like, three inches taller than me. That’s a little sad.”
Sasuke turned around so he wasn’t facing either girl, and as he opened the office door to leave, responded, “Don’t think I’m going to fraternize with you just because you’ve been declared a sibling. I honestly don’t think that we should be forced to interact now, and if we DO happen to bond, so be it; but otherwise, don’t expect much affection.”
The room grew silent. Tsunade and Chiro watched in horror as Sasuke left the office, leaving Tomake staring with a look of utter shock on her face. She felt a small cry escape her throat.
Tsunade hissed, “Oh shit! Chiro, take cover!”
Chiro asked, “Why, Tsunade-sama? Why do I need to-”
“Take cover!” Tsunade hissed again.
Chiro obliged quickly, and got behind Tsunade’s desk in a crouching position that still allowed her to watch Tomake, who was visibly trembling now.
“YOU FREAKING LITTLE SPOILED BRAT!!!!” Tomake roared almost inhumanly, and didn’t even bother to open the door; instead, she completely busted it off of its hinges. Sasuke was pounced upon and tackled to the ground before he even could sense anything coming.
Tsunade whispered, “Rage issues.”
“Ah,” responded Chiro.
Naruto, Kakashi, and Sakura, who had been standing outside the office, watched as Sasuke struggled to get his enraged sister off of him. He growled, “Gah! What in the name of flying shit are you doing?! Get off me!!”
Sakura looked at Naruto with a look that displayed both shock and the urge not to laugh. She asked, “Can you say, ‘Sibling Conflict?’”
Naruto snickered and responded, “I’ve never seen Sasuke look so helpless in his life!”
Kakashi merely stared down at the bickering siblings and mused, “Yep… with little quarrels like these, I have a feeling this is going to be one interesting village. I honestly think Konoha will never be as quiet as it used to be, now.”
Chiro, who had managed to slip past the two shinobi wrestling on the floor, joked, “Sit back and fasten your seat belts tightly; this is going to be one hell of a ride!”
She paused and asked Kakashi, “Wait… this is a LITTLE quarrel?!”
***LATER, AT SASUKE/CHIRO/TOMAKE’S HOUSE***
The two siblings were still shouting at one another as they walked in the door and flipped on the lights. Chiro walked behind them, looking rather irritated as she shielded her ears.
“Well, the least you could do is show some respect to your older sister!”
“I’ll respect you when you beat me in combat!”
“That’s not how it works, buddy! You’re supposed to respect me because I’m older, and because I’m FAMILY!!”
“Says you!”
“Yeah, says me! And since I’m oldest in this house, MY word is LAW!! So go to bed, and don’t even talk to me!”
“Lets see how YOU like-”
“WILL YOU TWO JUST SHUT THE HELL UP FOR A MINUTE?!” Chiro screamed over her cousins, who stopped shouted to turn their attention to her. She continued, “Honestly, you’re going to be living together whether you like it or not, so get used to it. More importantly, you are the only two siblings left of your part of our clan! Seriously, I bet you two would feel bad if the other person died the next morning! Stop bickering and learn to get along!”
She huffed out a large sigh and stormed to her bedroom.
Tomake glared at Sasuke, looking as though she was going to scream.
Sasuke sneered, “Oh, now what?!”
There was a moment of silence.
“WAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!” Tomake wailed, falling to her knees. She bawled, “I’m SORRY!! I’m SO sorry that we fought!! WAAAAAAAHHH!!!” She stood up and wrapped her arms around Sasuke shoulders.
Sasuke muttered, “Well, THAT was unexpected…”
He sighed, and hesitantly hugged Tomake in return, muttering so Chiro couldn’t hear, “I’m sorry, okay? I’m under a lot of stress right now, and I didn’t mean to take my anger out on you. I’m sorry.”
Tomake smiled and replied, “Hey, how do you think I feel? I was so excited to finally figure out who I was, and when I did, you acted so angry! I was under a lot of stress too, you know. As a matter of fact… I’m-” she began to whisper quietly into Sasuke’s ear.
Sasuke pulled back and hissed, “Are you kidding?! You’re only seventeen!! How the heck did you convince HIM, of all people, to do THAT?!”
Tomake giggled and answered, “Oh it wasn’t easy; Lee and TenTen were spying on me for weeks! And then, when the time came, I just suggested it, and, well… you get the point.”
Sasuke, in deep thought for a moment, thought aloud, “I bet he’s gonna scare the living crap outta everyone when he tells them THAT.”
Tomake whispered, “Everybody but Naruto knows. The only person I haven’t told yet aside from Naruto is Gaara, and that’s because he hasn’t been here in a long time.”
Sasuke held back a snicker and responded, “Well then, I’m going to spring it on Naruto tomorrow.”

I have no idea what's going on. But it sounds funny. So, who got it on with the snake? Hope they don't mind kabuto because *spolier* but it might not matter since *spolier*. Weird but you are. And thank you for the warning. That's all I'd ask. |
