About time someone made a thread for this. I have to say that Shadow is a mixed bag. On one hand, we have the answers behind Shadow and all kinds of nice storyline elements, being able to wreck a good amount of stuff in the stage, (A lot of the stuff you damage can also be then picked up and utilized as a close-range weapon) but the on the other hand, we have the usual bad camera angles, the original cast is replaced with the 4Kids staff used for Sonic X, (though I'd have to say it's some of their better work) and to top it all off, buggy as hell framerate. Not to mention the other usual problems a 3-D Sonic game has.

[spoil:df2b7f6de9]And the final boss Devil Doom is a rush job. All of his attacks are equivalent of Metal Overlord's and Biolizard's PLUS the controls are ridiculous. You fight him obviously as Super Shadow who's main attack is Chaos Spear which works EXACTLY like Rockman's trademark weapon. Charge Shot and all. Except to do any serious amount of damage, you have to hit him with a fully charged attack. And it'll only hit his weak spot if you stand a certain distance from it.[/spoil:df2b7f6de9]

All in all, Shadow's worth a rent at least. I enjoyed immensly but then again, I enjoy almost anything. I liked Heroes and we all saw how that got treated. I liked Transmission and their are Rockman fans that bash it as much as they bash EXE 4. So basically, my opinions don't count for crap anymore.

Actually... it depends on which version you have...

Ps2= Bad Frame Rate, Bad Loading Time, Japanese Voices
Xbox= Good frame rate, Good Loading, Control Issues, Japanese Voices
Gamecube= Good Frame Rate, Good Loading

So yeah... Gamecube owners can't complain cause the others have it worse... and the camera is actually alot better in this game not to mention that if you use the c-camera it actualyy GOES wher you want it to go and stays their. so if you use it effectively, you can pretty much get rid of your camera issues.

I think it was a mixed bag as well... but the Final Boss wasn't as crazy as it looks... I found it challenging though. Plus if you wait eight mins during the boss fight Eggman will reveal something to you. Plus Shadow Rifle shoots those things without the charge.

And I think this game played as a much better Megaman X7 if you look at it from that angle... people were complaning so much about omg there's not as much speed... and the ytook a step back... and omg this is utter crap.. and only sonic fanboys play this game... and only review fanboys listen to reviews... whatever

If you enjoy this game it's great... other than that... I reccomend Sonic Rush. (it looks so awesome)

Anyways... Magicman DX... you say you had a problem or something? Surprised

BTW, can anyone confirm something?

[spoil:03cc126d25]A friend of mine has told me that in the cutscenes with Black Doom and Gerald, Emerl has been seen making a cameo of some form or another. Can anyone help me with this? I've seen no such thing![/spoil:03cc126d25]

[spoil:cac059c715]I don't believe so. I have a few friends who've completed the entire game as well, and they've made no mention of seeing him in there.[/spoil:cac059c715]Oh and don't feel bad. I LOVED Network Transmission, slightly enjoyed MMBN4 and at least like Heroes for the gameplay style...but not the story.

Heroes would've been better if it wasn't so repetitive. Though, I do like "What I'm Made Of" more than "Live and Learn".
Transmission was so difficult! Sad Me and lots of others had trouble on Fireman. The first boss is suppose to be really really easy. So easy, even Chill Penguin will look bad.

I'm not getting Shadow The Hedgehog till Christmas but I can't resist knowing the story. So...would anyone be kind enough to tell me if this is the real Shadow? The same one at the end of SA2, not Heroes.

[spoil:dbedf73a4b]It's the same one from SA2. That was revealed in Sonic Battle, which, much to my surprise, was part of the main story.[/spoil:dbedf73a4b]

Actually [spoil:0aad7902d7]the one in SA2 IS the same one in Heroes. And this game clears that up along with providing a few more details as to HOW Gerald created Shadow.[/spoil:0aad7902d7]

I'm going to try it first then I might buy it. I didn't have a problem with heroes myself so I may not have a problem with shadow. Besides I have a cube and that seems to be a better version.

Hey do you [spoil:30272a957d]fight a bunch of shadow-bots in this game[/spoil:30272a957d] I heard you do and that might offset some things for me in the game.

I was unsure what to make of the game when I first saw the trailer (I mean, c'mon, Shadow with a gun? But I guess it's to make him look cooler or something). XD

I did try it out when my friends came over for Thanksgiving, and I currently rented it. The game is okay. The plot's interesting, the CG animation blew me away. I love the music, and don't forget the swearing. XD

But I was utterly disappointed that Sega would fire the original English cast (except the one who did Omega) and replace them with the 4Kids cast for "continuity reasons," so I heard. Meh, I say. Some voices I can tolerate. One voice was actually an improvement over Sonic Heroes, while others just really need to die. XD It sucks that, having the Game Cube version, there is no Japanese Language option that I could switch to to avoid hearing the new English voices, so I envy the PS2 and Xbox versions for that.

I also read up on the ending of the game after you beat everything. I was pretty disappointed with that....

At some point, yes, [spoil:db1e225acc]Eggman makes a bunch of clones of Shadow and you have to fight them.[/spoil:db1e225acc] They're really quite annoying. <__<;

I was amazed with the cinematics at the beginning of the game- looked like movie quality to me. It really stunned me. But some of the cut scenes have pretty crappy quality. Nevertheless, I found the game fun and addicting. :D I don't own the game, but we got through a whole score of levels and collected all of the chaos emeralds over at my boyfriend's house. What bugs me is that the game is rated E10+ and yet Shadow curses nonstop. Lots of damns and dammits, and the occasional "Professor, you're going to hell!" <__<; I think they should raise the rating to T. But then, there's the question if more or less people would buy it then. A T-rated Sonic game might not register in a few parent's minds. ^ ^; Still, a gun-weilding, angst-ridden, bad-mouthed Shadow is perfectly awesome.

Another thing that bugged me... why does Shadow need a motorcycle if he can already run super-fast? o__O

Damn is not a bad word... end of story... and it's not enough to constitute it as T. Also since this is the first game (on of the first) in the US to use E10+ they needed to test how much they could put into a game... in a way. and they passed... judging by this... SSBM rating should go down to an E10+...

and the Motorcycle is for cool factor, I guess D:

Cause he's black. No, seriously. VGcats.com

I'd love to play the game. For some reason, the 3D games all seem awesome to me, aside that I completely own them. However, a lack of Gamcube is a putdown.
