|
|
I picked up my copy of the newest issue of the NT Warrior manga tonight, at my local Waldenbooks. This issue introduces some of my favourite characters, most notably Tomahawkman. XD Anywho, since Viz stated it wasn't due out until December, I thought a heads up to the general public would be helpful. The manga sticks to a pretty good translation, including my favourite line, "Barrel (Baryl) the Immortal"! _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. Fuutyiah (crud). My best friend is waiting for her Vol. 9 to come in the mail. Since I told mom to save up the $$$ for Volume 9, becasue I thought it was coming out in Dec., I told her the date that -Viz- said it'd come out in stores. So I'll have to wait 'til then. My friend said she'd send it in the mail once she gets it, though..And ocne I read it, I'll send it back to her. Gotta love snail mail. _________________ If you like Wild ARMs, go to my DeviantArt to see a whole bunch of artwork on the series.

The Forte vs. Serenade was a sidestory included in the September 2003 issue of CoroCoro. I don't think they ever added it to any of the actual manga volumes, so unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see it translated in English (unless someone kindly volunteers to do it themselves o.O).
Finally the 9th volume is out! I knew it would come out in late November, I just didn't know exactly when. I should head to Waldenbooks soon... I'm glad that they kept Barrel's famous quote, though. XD And Baryl isn't too bad of an American name, just a different spelling.
...I liked Barrel better. :P _________________

Yeah, as far as I know, the FortexSerenade: Legendary Battle side story has not appeared in the regular manga, and at the rate it's going, they probably never will, which sucks because I totally love the story. So we'll never see the English translation.
... But a long time ago, I was able to translate the whole story for my own personal use. If anyone's curious about it, they can PM me or something. =P
On topic, jeez, I just recently gotten volume 8, now I have to hunt down volume 9 too. XD
But hey, Viz just needs to translate Volume 10 (of which I have), and they'll be all caught up. =3 _________________ ~スライダーちゃん~

I'm still hunting down number 7, funny enough I found 8 at AC-Cubed Last weeked.
So I have to wait for Christmas, get money, then wait a month afterward to get 7 and 9, before you know it 10 is going to be out.
I hope we get one of those summaries to tie some of us over until we get it! _________________

You know, Viz is weird. XD I think in Volume 6, they switched between Serenade's gender mid-book. First half said female, second half was male and so far it's seem to have stuck as male. (<3)
I just finished reading 9 and suddenly they're calling Laika "Raika". >>; They had it right the first time. It's like "Zoro" and "Zolo" from One Piece. Those bastards! |

I doubt it was supposed to be malicious. XP Probably they made the final decisions to go with the latter names after volume 8 went to publication, and the first instance of Serenade was probably an error that was overlooked. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

It has always been Raika in the english version (manga, anime and games). It's actually the official spelling in Japan too...though techincally it can be translated either way. Which is why we had begun with calling him "Laika". _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. Heh, true, but I think it's meant to be spelt as Laika. I looked up that name and Laika is a name given to a female dog in Russia being sent to space (on Sputnik 2) back in the late '50's, and I think it means "Barker." _________________ ~スライダーちゃん~

When I was overseas, one of the people stationed there was named Laika (last name), so, yeah, that's pretty much the actual spelling. It was a pretty good volume. I was surprised by how strong Tomohawkman was. Megaman vs. D. Megaman was excellent, taking up quite a lot of the story length. And Bubbleman is a little JERK! _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?
