Registration

• Registration for and use of this forum constitutes acceptance of this set of rules. The staff reserves the right to enforce and expand upon these rules.
• Do not create multiple accounts. You do not need more than one, no matter what your reasoning. Any account after your first will be deleted with or without warning.
• Avoid foreign or non-standard characters in your username. The forum sometimes cannot handle all of these characters, and they may cause unforseen errors, such as inabiity to send or receive Private Messages.
• Please choose a username you like before you register and stick with it. It is both confusing to other members and a hassle to the admins to change your name. If you DO create a second account for the sole purpose of registering a new name (please avoid this >.>) at least notify us so we may delete the first.

SPAM

• The forum is not a chatroom. Do not reply with simple phrases or single words. Please put some effort into your replies.
• Do not use netspeak, leetspeak (or 1337), or excessive over-abbreviations. Shortening words like 'you' into 'u' is just lazy and looks bad. Take the extra moment to type a few more letters.
• Do not create forum games or similarly pointless threads.
• Do not create topics or post replies whose only purpose is to advertise.
• Do not request files, images, codes, or other things unless specifically allowed to within the thread you are posting in.
• Do not excessively abuse smilies. Using one or two in a post is plenty.
• Stay on-topic. Off-topic replies will be considered spam.
• Advertising web sites, user groups, or other forums is not permitted in your posts. (this kind of thing goes in your signature)
• No 'quote tunnels'; those being quotes within quotes withing quotes within... etc. Try to quote only what you're responding to.
• Please do not quote images: If you're replying to a piece of art, you do NOT need to quote the image. It's annoying to have to scroll past a quoted image. Make a note of which image you are commenting on if you feel that your comment would otherwise be unclear.
• Never intentionally post false or misleading information as fact. If you are unsure, please make it clear that you aren't. Telling everybody there's some new character appearing soon, or that there is a previously unknown ultimate cheat for one of the games without backing it up is just a waste of our time and will lose you respect and eventually get you banned. Just don't lie, it's not difficult.
• The staff can and will delete any post considered to be SPAM without warning.

Behavior

• No excessive swearing. We're not going to get picky if something relatively harmless slips through, but be warned; we will not tolerate it if you decide to spew a torrent of expletives. Be considerate of the younger members, please.
• There will be absolutely no flaming tolerated. You are not permitted to mindlessly degrade the personal opinions of other members. If you do not like something about a certain thread, please stay out of it.
• NO discussions involving pornographic material, video game ROMs, or any other warez. Period.
• ABOUT DOUBLE POSTING - Due to repeated abuse of the edit feature, we have been forced to disable it. For that reason, double posting will be allowed, provided you are adding something constructive to the discussion.
• Do not advertise your website/yahoo group/club/ect. in your posts. Please keep that kind of thing within your signature only.
• Backseat Moderation: Generally, we ask that moderation is left to the forum's staff. However, you may politely remind a user who is ignoring a rule. If you cannot do this in a courteous manner, PM an active staff member with the issue.
• Do not excessively "roleplay" in your posts. It's just annoying and unneeded. This is a discussion forum, not a place to 'play' characters.
• You may only revive an older thread if you are adding something constructive to the conversation. If there is an older thread regarding something you wish to discuss, please feel free to reply to it rather than creating a new topic.

Spoilers

• NO UNMARKED SPOILERS! They must be clearly labelled AND tagged at all times. This forum has a spoiler tag, so make use of it. If you are unsure if something is considered a spoiler, mark it as such anyway. It's better to be safe.
• Failure to mark spoilers will result in severe penality. We reserve the right to ban you based on a single violation of this rule. No exceptions. No excuses.
• When using the spoiler tag, please also lable the spoiler, based on what is being spoiled. For example:

EXE6 Spoiler: [spoil:dcc919c3aa]Rockman is in EXE6![/spoil:dcc919c3aa]

Stream Spoiler: [spoil:dcc919c3aa]Rockman in in Stream![/spoil:dcc919c3aa]

We need you to do this because there are users who use the spoiler tag in the Anime & Manga section to cover a spoiler related to the games. This is BAD. Why? Because a person who does not worry about anime spoilers will highlight the hidden spoiler text, and boom, they're spoiled for the games. So guess what... LABEL WHAT THE SPOILER IS FOR!

Avatars

These are home-made avatars to use at the Rockman.exe Online forum! Please note that since they are public avatars, you cannot accuse anyone of stealing the avatar that you chose if someone else decides that they also wish to use it. These avatars are yours to use at any forum that you wish, and you may alter them as you desire. If you wish to donate an avatar (must be Rockman related, any genre), then please e-mail it to Ryouko at forte@rockman-exe.com! Avatars must be 100 x 100 pixels in dimension or smaller and must be 50 k in size.

Do not link directly to these avatars when using them on the forum. Please right-click and choose "save as", then download them to your own computer. Then you may upload them via the "upload" feature enabled in your profile on the forum. Thank you.

No showing of the final bosses from EXE5 are allowed, until at least a month after BN5 has been released abroad. The same applies to signatures.

To read more about what is and what is not allowed in avatars and signatures, refer to this topic:

Signatures

Signatures must be under 75k in file size, and no longer than 450 pixels, no taller than 150. Anything over this size will be deleted.

Do NOT use other people's artwork in your avatars or signatures without permission. Even then, please state you had permission for the artwork in your thread. Failure to do so will result in immediate deletion of the graphic.

You may use multiple images, but you must add their file size and dimensions together to see if they obey this rule. So, if you use two 50Kb images, that's 100Kb, and thus against the rules. Likewise, this means if you have two 150 pixel tall images, that's 300 pixels, which would then be against the rules.

Go here if you'd like to know how to put images in your signature.

Art/Media Theft

• On this forum, artwork includes, but is not limited to: Drawn works, CGed works, written fiction, AMVs, fully customized sprites, custom made personal avatars, etc.
• Using another person's artwork without permission for any purpose is not permitted and will not be tolerated.

It is not hard to follow these rules, most of them are simply common sense. If you have any questions, visit the Staff page and feel free to PM any one of us! Thank you, and enjoy your stay.
