This should be fun.
Don't have much of a fully formed team on Emerald yet, which is the one I'm currently playing, but I've got my Netbattle team... (everything's level 100 and I'm aware of the massive type unbalance )

hehehe it's not always must tell the strategy everyone could give some advice or commet for it.....!!!
wow just like my salamence..!!!(Miltia lvl 100)
My tricky trick(tag battle)
1-use teeter dance (spinda or smeargle)
2-use thunder wave to all enemy pokemon
3-Lock on to make the next attack accuracy 100%
4-use guillotine
5-and do it to other pokemon...!!! _________________

Okay... going a bit more in depth...
Hitmonlee's mainly for fast attacking. He can OHKO most average defense guys if they're weak to his attack, and take down a lot of other guys in two hits with his stronger moves.
Octillery does a bit less damage and has a few type combinations it does badly against, but it has one of the better sweeper movesets, and can survive more hits than it looks like it could. It's a good counter for Skarmory too, since it can't be roared out and it has Flamethrower.
Whiscash is a bit odd... All it's stats but HP are below average, but none of them are actually quite bad, and allow it to endure hits fairly well. It's trait plus it's type make it good for suprising less informed players or ones who aren't paying attention, as well as switching to it when the enemy has a strong electric type.
Far as moves go, Ice Beam and Earthquake are my favorite sweeper moves, and Fissure is for when I'm stuck on a Curselax (Snorlax with Curse + Rest), Blissey or strong legendary, since I like to use UU/Semi-UU teams. I try not to use it unless I'm in a desperate situation otherwise though.
Quagsire's attacks are just thrown in sort of, as it's main goal is hazing and defense. It's another one to switch to for electric types, especially ones with Calm Mind.
Ludicolo's also a sweeper, but I start off battles with Rain Dance to make it's speed really high. That helps enormously with Surf and if done right, I can deal a ton of damage with it. Giga Drain's great for guys weak to it cause of the sheer amount of HP it can heal when used right.
Finally my favorite Pokemon, Dusclops. If I'm fighting a Physical Sweeper, I start off with Will o Wisp to lower the enemy's attack. If I need to have an extra turn, I risk confuse ray and then use Pain Split, to heal the damage I likely have.
After I have everything set up with Will o Wisp and Confuse Ray, I use Pain Split to keep my HP up and Seismic Toss to deal damage, since it allows me to be a bit less predictable (as opposed to Night Shade) and I can put more EVs in to defenses.
Hope you didn't mind my ramblings... I'm a bit of a giant Pokemon nerd still.
BTW Magicman... Do you use Netbattle? You seem to have an interesting strategy and it'd be fun to fight you sometime. |

Heh, might as well. I've been a little stagnant in FR lately (as I'm between story-related Elite Four defeats) but I might as well post my team (in order of their place on the game). And probably any sort of strategy with them... If applicable, anyway. I tend to make up strategy on the fly ^^;
Flareon
Level: 51
Gender: Female
Item: Amulet Coin
Nature: Mild
Ability: Flash Fire
Stats: HP 140; Attack 148; Defense 75; Sp. Attack 121; Sp. Defense 123; Speed 92
Ember
Bite
Dig
Overheat
Blastoise
Level: 56
Gender: Male
Item: Sea Incense
Nature: Serious
Ability: Torrent
Stats: HP 160; Attack 121; Defense 137; Sp. Attack 121; Sp. Defense 141; Speed 111
Surf
Hydro Cannon
Bite
Skull Bash
Nidoking
Level: 52
Gender: Male (no kidding...)
Item: King's Rock
Nature: Impish
Ability: Poison Point
Stats: HP 161; Attack 121; Defense 116; Sp. Attack 101; Sp. Defense 98; Speed 111
Megahorn
Earthquake
Return
Sludge Bomb
Clefable
Level: 49
Gender: Female
Item: Lax Incense
Nature: Modest
Ability: Cute Charm
Stats: HP 162; Attack 81; Defense 82; Sp. Attack 114; Sp. Defense 104; Speed 77
Strength
Brick Break
Metronome
Psychic
Raichu
Level: 49
Gender: Male
Item: None
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Static
Stats: HP 130; Attack 105; Defense: 71; Sp. Attack 98; Sp. Defense 98; Speed 130
Thunder
Body Slam
Mega Punch
Shock Wave
Pidgeot
Level: 50
Gender: Female
Item: None
Nature: Modest
Ability: Keen Eye
Stats: HP 157; Attack 84; Defense 91; Sp. Attack 90; Sp. Defense 83; Speed 116
Wing Attack
Aerial Ace
Fly
Agility
For those wondering, yes that is the team I defeated the Elite Four with, and all of them have been trained by my hand, as I have no one I can regularly trade with ^^; I'll admit I don't know much about training Pokémon, but I stick with my favorites (though Flareon was stuck in for type balance rather than evolving a Jolteon or Vaporeon) and make do with what I got.
Like I said earlier, I'm not much on one base strategy. I make do on the fly. For example, if I'm fighting a Hypno I'll use Flareon. Her speed has shown to outdo theirs, and with Bite I can exploit a weakness. A stronger Psychic, like Alakazam, will be facing Blastoise. Because of Megahorn, I've even risked Nidoking a few times and come out on top. Raichu comes out if whatever I'm fighting has been going crazy with Flash or Sand Attack, since Shock Wave can't miss. And Clefable is a whiz with Ghost types. I try to vary what attacks my Pokémon know, and with the exception of generic ones like Clefable, make sure they know two attacks of their own type to take advantage of the power bonus without decreasing their ability to take on something that sort of attack would normally be weak to (such as Flareon has Dig to take care of things Ember or Overheat can't touch). I also evenly distribute HM's, and use TM's only if I need to. And this system has done well for me, and I'll probably continue to use it. _________________

other tricky trick
(Espeon)
-double team 'till max
-calm mind 'till max
-heal with moonlight(if you have to....)
-then attack with a full power Psychic(will kill enemy pokemon with one strike) _________________

There is a couple of weaknesses with that...
First off, dark types are immune to psychic attacks, so no matter how many times you've calm minded your Espeon, it's lack of anything but psychic attacks will leave it offenseless. In addition to this, quite a few dark pokemon have access to skill like Shadow Ball, Psych up and Snatch, which can all serve fairly well to screw that up.
Then there's the status boosting. It requires a minimum of 12 turns to do boost your evasion and Special stats to maximum, in which the opponent has plenty of time to bring out a Pokemon with Haze, which is unaffected by double team. That can be remedied with Taunt, but Espeon doesn't learn it, so it could only use it in Double Battles.
Not a really bad strategy, but a well planned out team would probably not have much trouble unless they get surprised by it. If used with the right partner in a Double Battle though, those weaknesses could be overcome (I think that either Octillery or a good defensive pokemon with Taunt would work best here. Octillery has a wide range of moves and can use both physical and special attacks, so it can cover a lot of weaknesses).
And since I'm posting, I may as well share one of the movesets I occasionally use, when I start encountering a lot of Curselax strategies...
Hypno
Trait: Insomnia
Gender: Female (since you generally find more female attracters than male).
Item: Lum Berry
Personality: Modest
EVs: 85 HP and Special Attack, 170 Defense and Special Defense
Moveset:
Psychic
Skill Swap
Toxic
Taunt
Skill Swap is best used first. This will shut down Snorlax's ability to abuse rest and it's Poison resistance at the same time.
Next, use Toxic so that it'll eventually go down no matter it's defenses, since it probably doesn't have a poison curing berry.
Finally, use Taunt to stop it from Cursing for a couple of turns, and then if you have a good opportunity, switch to someone more suitable for taking Snorlax down.
Survival isn't the first priority here, but regardless Hypno can take some hits before it goes down, providing that you don't let Snorlax Curse much.
While it's not as effective against other Pokemon, I've found that this set works well in some other situations too, so it's not entirely useless against other stuff. |

I don't really have a consistent team, I'm always trying out new combinations (like the lizard-only team involving Charizard, Feraligatr and Sceptile I'm working on right now), but easily the best combination I've come across is:
Groudon (Drought)
-Earthquake
-Eruption
-Solarbeam
-Thunderbolt
Latios (Levitate)
-Helping Hand
-Psycic
-Dragon Claw
-Safeguard
It's a rather deadly team for 2v2 battles. Latios is faster than Groudon, so have him use Helping Hand to increase the power of the already insanely powerful Earthquake while his Levitate keeps Latios safe. Groudon's Drought helps protect against water and ice attacks that might strike at their weaknesses, and it helps him use Solarbeam to take out those offending water types. Thunderbolt works well against flying types normally immune to Groudon's attack, and it's not affected by the sunlight. The sun also boosts the power of Eruption, a good substitution for Earthquake. Latios' Psycic and Dragon Claw helps take down weakened opponents, and Safeguard protects the pair from nasty status effects. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

That's because I don't use them. I like the idea of my Pokémon still growing and gaining levels and learning, plus I'm not patient enough to raise them that high xD; I stopped using Lv 100's way back with Red.
However in Netbattle, I'm typically too lazy to make their levels anything else (plus so many others use 100's it'd be suicide not to make them that) but I play Netbattle so little it doesn't really matter xD _________________

This is my current UU team:
Swalot (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Atk / 146 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Explosion
- Sludge Bomb
- Snatch
- Substitute
Swalot looks lika an inferior Muk, but he's got one things that Muk lacks: Swalot gets Snatch, rendering all Bp-ers useless. Sludge Bomb for STAB, 101 subs to laugh at Bliss and the like and Explosion to blow stuff up if all else fails.
Nidoking (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Poison Point
EVs: 132 HP / 66 Atk / 136 Spd / 176 SAtk
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Focus Punch
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
Subpunch-Boltbeam-King, takes SkarmBliss quite nicely and surprises people who expect a pure physical Nidoking
Azumarill (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
Azumarill is probably my fave UU poke, with Huge Power, Adamant and 255 attack EVs, he's got more base attack than Metagross. He's also got 101 subs, making him a perfect sub-puncher. HP-ghost is self explanatory and Ice Beam is there to confuse opponents and put a dent in Salamence while he's at it.
Solrock @ Lum Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 122 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Shadow Ball
With Solrock's typing, you can hurl him at just about everything; resistant to Flying, Normal, Rock, Fire and immune to EQ. HP-rock is there for STAB, plus it's more accurate than Rockslide. Shadow Ball and Earthquake are basic sweeping moves and Explosion is there because I like it.
Banette (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Insomnia
EVs: 76 HP / 252 Atk / 182 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Shadow Ball
- Skill Swap
- Snatch
Banette's the second poke with Snatch, making him incredibly dangerous if used right. Skill Swap can stop resters dead in their tracks, Shadow Ball and HP-fighting are fillers.
Pinsir (M) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 38 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance
Basic sweeper, SD while waiting for the Salac boost and sweep once you're ready. He's in trouble against QA or Extremespeed though. |

I generally use it as a special sweeper... It has plenty of unusual abilities though, so taking advantage of those can be good. One I tried for a bit that worked okay was recycle and Lum Berry.
As long as you can spare a turn every once and a while, you can repeatedly protect yourself from status effects, by using a Lum Berry, then recycling it when you get a chance. |

I like keeping a surprise, high power move on hand like mabe hyper beam or blizzard. Yes, it can learn blizzard (or at least mine did), it may have a low chance of hitting and low PP, but it can pay off big if you're against a rock/ground type. Also keep psycic on hand for fighting types, since it has a weakness to those. I think I'll try that Lum berry idea. Thats an impressive strategy. _________________
