It's a sketch at best, but I really like how it looks so far - I'll ink and color it, probably. Constructive crits very welcome!
Drawn in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 with a Wacom Tablet.

Erk... sorry for the double post, but I inked and colored it.. It counts so long as I'm updating with something new, right? Sorry if I'm wrong x_x;

Thank you ^_^ ...I'm really abusing that background. XD I made it a while ago and saved it as .bmp file, and if I ever have a minor EXE drawing, I just slap it on so I don't have to worry about making a whole new one. XD

XD! Thank you. I've always had trouble with RockmanEXE styled eyes, I'm glad to know I did it right :3

It's really cool to see it both in initial sketch version and a version with clean lines. Did you sketch on paper and then scan, or did you sketch directly in the program? I'm very curious, since my pencil sketches already give me enough trouble and mouse sketching's even worse. Very nice art. (Hmm, maybe Serenade really is the child of Forte and Roll) _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

Wacom tablet :) I made a new document in Adobe Photoshop, pulled out my tablet, and sketched it straight into the progam with a blue brush, then I created another layer over it and did clean, black lining over it. ^^
(LMFAO - And WHERE did you get that assumption!? XD) |

DeadlySerenade wrote: | Zodiac wrote: | (Hmm, maybe Serenade really is the child of Forte and Roll) | (LMFAO - And WHERE did you get that assumption!? XD) | Well, it was a little joke at first that I posted in the latest update Ryouko made about the trailer for the Rockman.EXE movie. I was mentioning the Forte Cross Roll (to mess with people's minds) and went on to say, "What's that? You didn't know they had a thing for each other? I'm pretty sure that's how Serenade came about." Now I look at your drawing, and what do I see. Serenade in black and yellow (inherited from Daddy Forte) and ribbons on Serenade's head (inherited from Mommy Roll). I think the evidence speaks for itself.
OK, so I should find a tablet then so I can do sketchwork on the PC? Sounds like a good idea. Hmm, and if I put a sketch on top of the tablet, I should be able to do a trace. Cool. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

..Hmm.. Now that I'm looking at it harder, does the eye on the right (Serenade's left) seem a little high to any of you? I know she/he/it's supposed to be tilting her/h.. screw it XD; its head, but it still seems a little out of place nonetheless. |

People's faces, and eyes, aren't symetrical in the first place. I know my eyes don't look completely right. And, uh, I would have thought about the chin first. The head is tilted but the chin is pointing straight down. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

...I just noticed that. XD Cripes, it looked good when I finished it, but now I'm seeing so many mistakes. XD Then again, I did finish it at, like, one in the morning.. XD;
Ahhh well. I'm planning on getting to work on something involving Serenade and my version of a Serenade Soul, possibly.. I'll probably post it in here, depends. |

New stuff!
Originally I had Serenade standing back to back with him, but I hated how she looked, so I had to erase her ^^; It looks much better this way, in my opinion. Critique welcomed! |

Hmmm, where does the light come from? Well, not that every image needs a defined light source; diffused light for creepy places - why not? Anyway. The body proportions are all right, but the helmet looks a bit flat, as if it was thick paper; I guess it´s because the left earcover (his POV) lacks a three-dimensional quality due to the lack of shading and the very thick outline which cuts off too much of the form. That forehead-cover also seems too flat.
Speaking of thick outlines - compared to the size of the character, they seem too bold. His right eye, for example, suffers from that, as well as his trousers; while the folds are all right, the bold lines give them a kind of heavy quality, as if it was really heavy cloth, which couldn´t form light folds then.
Much talk, short meaning - overall good work, only thick outlines and missing highlights/shadows (thus, depth) give it a hard look.
(uhm, if you planned to achieve a "hard look", then just ignore the whole talk XD) |
