This isn't a bug, it's just a very big problem. I'm sure maybe some of you aren't aware of this but, people are putting links to their sites. Their sites have been infected and when you go to some of them, you too get infected. It may just be a cheap host, but it is still a virus. Lucky for me, I have 2 firewalls and a whole bunch of AV's. I'm just warning you, do not click on a link in a sig that links out of REO unless you actually trust it. This is just a basic rule, but it will help out. I found a few trojans on someone's site. I can't say their name, because it will be like flaming them. So just be careful. And sorry for the alarming title.

Well, this is sure to help people! Surprised

It's obvious that any link can contain a webpage that installs a virus if you use an inferior browser. (Not calling names) Even REO can fill your PC with virusses if Ryouko suddenly gets a seperate evil personality. If someone links to a site and you know for sure that malicious content is present on the page, inform the webmaster and ask the admins here remove the link.

My brother got hit by a kind of internet worm that can sit on any site and wait for a connection so it can put itself on your computer. So theoretically any website, no matter the webmaster, content, host [well maybe not hosts with AV, unlike my bro XD], whatever may hit ya with something, even a site you know and trust...so yeah, like everyone said, just use protection and browse with AV software, and keep those Trojans out. [oh geez... couldn't resist ^.=.^;;;]

impossible, there isn't a single worm out there that hits a site unless you do some sort of thing like ftp, or upload an infected file and run it on the site!

...or someone hacks your site, or your hoster screws up and infects your site with a trojan, or an ad has a script carrying a trojan...

You didn't expect to find a link that could protentially be harmful? You've got a link in your sig the same as half the other people here too. Do you think we check every one for possible content?

There's no virus on REO. And quite frankly, if you're actually concerned you should state the name of the site in question or contact the owner to fix it, since it probably isn't malicious.

Then name the user and link and let the admins handle it. There's nothing wrong with it; the webmaster probably didn't intend the site to be packed with virii.

If you are not sure on a link, you can always right-click the link, then check its properties. I think thats only good for hotlinks, though...

I almost caught a virus when I went to some member's website too. But I really don't think it was their problem.

And a admin from a board in the link in my sig almost got a virus when she..um...tried to get rid of a problem... :O

Honestly, I don't think I should say it here. I'm a bit uncomfortable with it.

I think he's just trying to cause a ruckus and make people paranoid. Really... he would have told us by now WHICH member has such as site, instead of instilling paranoia. >_>;
