No scanner, so I took a photo with a digital camera to use as a base. I had done the drawing a couple of months ago and, having decided I still liked it, I wanted to CG it. Dropping modesty for a moment, I'd say it's the best one I've done yet, both in drawing and in CGing. So lemme know what you think.
But before you do, I know some of you will probably say "the eyes look weird." And I'm going to go ahead and refute that by arguing that... I don't enjoy the magic anime rule that an eyeball, no matter WHERE IT IS ON THE FACE, always has to have that little white speck of "reflection" at the top right or left. One eye is in the shadows, so it's not reflecting off of anything, and is naturally going to be a darker tone than the other one. It does look a little off, I admit, but I think that's because anime fans are so used to one eye always looking the same on the face as the other eye, no matter what the light angles are doing.
Anyway, without further ado, here ya go...
For comparative purposes, I'm going to include the photograph I used as a base for the CGing. I had to redraw a bit of the helmet, the entire saber, and the right knee in Photoshop. The saber in particular looked awful.

Awesome, no really! Despite your statements about the flaw risks with the eyes, I see no reason why it should have it. I'm really a fan of your style, and it is quite flawless! You must have been spending lots of hours for finishing that touch. |

Absolutely great CG work, the colors are really crisp and vibrant. I'm very jealous of those skillz. It's a pretty unique pose. I kinda get the impression he's out of breath or trying to gather himself after a tough battle, the way he's sorta hunched. I'd agree that's it's a step above the Netto tablet one you did a while back (kinda should keep 'em all in one thread :/ ) I understand your deal with the eyes, which does make sense and definitely doesn't do any damage to this piece. The background is pretty flashy, which makes him stand out even more. Yeah, I can see where the saber was a little off and I noticed the changes you made, but it wasn't THAT bad. Very professional looking in the final version. Top notch job! _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

It's really quite excellent in my opinion. Now this may just be because Vent is...not my favorite, but he looks like he's hunched over. And you didn't include Aile's boobs That's a good thing. Rock Miyabi hit the nail on the head with his pose. And I was trying to make him look more manly because I wanted to avoid the assumption that he could be Aile. Hate to say it, but I don't like Aile, and I think Vent is far superior. (Yayz for the manga.) She feels too much like an after-thought, and her design is very mediocre to me.
But thanks for the comments. It means a lot to me to actually get some feedback as opposed to "That's fine" crap I usually get. I mean, I don't want to sound expecting, but comments like "Not bad" are empty to me. I want some elaboration, especially when I show off something I proclaim as my best drawing and CG work yet. So, my point is, I really, really appreciate the comments thus far. Thank you.
(Oh, and... was it part of the forum rules to group this artwork with my previous Netto tablet one? If so, sorry about that... I kinda forgot about that since it's so old... plus, I didn't really want to associate the two since they don't really have anything in common... different series, one's tablet art and one's not, and... well, the Netto one was rancidly bad...) _________________

Actually, the eye always reflects that little speck of light if there's any light sourcees anywhere in the enviroment so long as it's not an enterely extreme contrast (a very strong and concentrated light source illuminating a small area in a pitch dark enviroment, for example). Even in the dark when there's absolutely no light, the eyes will have a very faint, hard to see, but its still there, reflection from the lumin in the eyes.
Your picture doesn't obey these conditions to eliminate completely the speck of light as you said. The eye should look a little brighter than you colored it, and the little shine should be there, except much smaller and subtler than the one in the brighter eye. Eyes are spheres, any little bit of light anywhere in the enviroment will produce a certain level of reflection in it.
Also, You have several glowing sources of light in the immediate enviroment of you character that'd end up producing a 'shine' in the eye. The glowing orbs in the belt/thong. The glowing gem in the helmet -it does look like it's a glowing light source in your picture, it might not be that way, but it's how it looks. And the Light Saber that is a major source of light.
The orbs of the thong are facing right to his face, so they should produce at the very least very tiny amount of reflection in the eye. Always treat eyes like glass balls, even if the light sources are really far away, it'll end up producing a reflection. The whole contrast of the picture clashes with the coloration of the eye, as the eye seems to be in a completely different enviroment than the rest of the body. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

It doesn't matter if it's got a common link or not. You must sit -all- you art, Rockman, original, digital, traditional,.. it doesn't not matter, into one thread.
So, needless to say you're not allowed anymore threads after this one.
If you want, I can change the title of this thread to your general art thread. _________________

Planty made some excellent points about the piece, so I don't need to say anything. Personally I really love the colouring, it's got a very vibrant quality that's pleasant to look at, so you're definately making great progress (I'm a little jealous since my colouring is still a little...lacking. -_-; ). _________________

Now that Rock Miyabi mentioned it, I can also tell the difference with the saber between the sketch and the CG art. Whether or not you figure it out, the shaft needs a little more work on in order to be more perfect.
Other than that, I wished I knew how you could do Zero's hair so perfect. |

Plantman: Mmm... You know, that's an awful lot of work to refute me on eyeball shading. *shrug* Thanks for putting me in my place then.
Tabby: I don't feel like I draw enough to constitute my own general art forum, but if that's part of the forum rules, then I have no choice but to obide by them. Sorry for overlooking that particular rule. You can go ahead and rename it to "Crimson Seiko's Rockman art" or something along those lines if you'd like. _________________

Since you said you preferred feedback rather than simple 'that's good/nice/bad' and so on, I thought you'd want a deep explanation behind the correction, I'd think it would help more if I point out why than just say it wasn't right. I'll change the name of your thread for you. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

The coloring is amazing. I'm probably getting photoshop soon, yay....
Anyway, he has an almost zombie-like look in his eyes, like he's hypnotized. Probably because of the lack of pupils, and his pose goes right with it. The yellow background also looks good since it only matches his hair and collar instead of the major color, red. _________________ Salem Paroo, Guardman's roleplay character!
