THERE ARE EXE 6 SPOILERS IN THIS FIC. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
This is a sequel to Kyuusaisha No Boudou; actually, it's more of a sequel to EXE 6. This takes place 21 years in the future. [spoil:fcbfa02a35]Netto and Meiru's son, Raito Hikari, is 11 years old.[/spoil:fcbfa02a35] I won't give away TOO much of the story, as I won't need to this time around. I PROMISE the beginning isn't horrible and confusing like Kyuusaisha No Boudou's was. ^_^;;;
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1: Raito's New Navi
It has been 21 years since the fall of the Dennoujouu at Rockman's hands. Not much as chaged since then; just the birth of a new generation, along with a new generation of Navis. Netto Hikari had been married to Meiru Sakurai, and now had an eleven year old son, Raito, who beared a very close resemblence to Netto. Yuuichirou and Haruka were still around as well, living in the same house, while Netto, Meiru, and Raito had moved into a house that was built across the street from it. Netto was now second in command of the Electopian Officials, with Enzan being the head commander. Meiru was a stay at home mom much like Haruka, but she also taught piano lessons. Kiruka also lived with Netto and Meiru, working as an English teacher at Akihara elementary. He may have gotten older, but his feminine personality remained as did his feminine good looks. He could've afforded his own place, but he was still single and didn't like the thought of being alone. Raito had always considered Kiruka his aunt, since Kiruka was like a sister to Netto.
Raito followed Netto into the computer room after Raito had just gotten home from school. "What's so important that you had to pull me away from my after school snack?"
Netto grinned. "You'll see." He then held his hand out to Raito. "Let me see your PET."
Raito complied. "I don't know what you're planning to do with MY Navi. Unlike Rockman, my Navi's always breaking down on me."
"This should fix that," Netto replied, connecting Raito's PET to the PC. Netto typed a few commands and began the download process. After a few minutes, the transfer was complete and Netto handed Raito the PET.
Raito went wide-eyed. "A new Navi...? What for? You had always told me that these were expensive!"
"They are, but gramps had some spare time, and with what I had told him about your Navi being a cheap model, he took it upon himself to make a custom one for you. Not FULLY custom, as he's very similar to Rockman, but custom enough," Netto told.
The Navi on the PET screen woke up. "Hey! I'm Rockman Trigger. Or just Trigger, for short. You had better have some Battlechips on you, because one thing Yuuichirou DIDN'T do was give me much weaponry." Trigger looked a lot like Rockman, but had spikey brown hair which was longer at the front, green eyes, dark blue and greyish green armor, and a black belt.
"It's an improvement on Rockman's buster, actually. It's more similar to Gutsman's," Netto informed.
"Yeah, but Rockman can use the Cross System, Beast Out, and he has the Saito Batch programmed into his memory perminantly, as well as the "Ultimate Program", whatever THAT'S all about," Raito commented. "But don't sweat it, Trigger. The only reason I've lost Netbattles before was because of my Navi breaking down. I know my Battlechips."
Netto didn't know how to explain how Trigger didn't have the same capacity Rockman did, so just decided to let Raito believe in his own Battlechip skill. "You sure do."
"C'mon, Trigger. Let's go next door and visit Rina and her Navi, Nona. I has never able to beat them in a Netbattle with my old Navi, but with you, I bet we can do it!" Raito boasted.
"I have to fight a girl? Unfair advantage!" Trigger complained.
"For who?" Meiru asked with a smile, walking into the computer room as well. "Netto, you left your smelly laundry for ME to pick up. Off of the GARAGE floor."
"...How did it get there?" Netto asked, sweatdropping. Raito bolted out the front door.
"See you later!" Raito yelled. He ran over to Rina's house as quickly as he could and ran into the door. He fell back onto the welcome mat in a daze.
"Hey, you alright, klutz?" Trigger laughed.
"It's not my fault! I inherited it from Dad!" Raito told. Rina opened the door to see Raito on his back in front of her. Rina was slightly shorter than Raito, with shoulder length blonde hair, bright blue eyes, a short white denim skirt, black knee-length socks and a small red t-shirt that read, "My face isn't down here."
"Raito, did you run into the door again?" Rina asked.
"No," Raito lied.
"Yes," Trigger answered.
"Hey, who's that?" Rina asked, pointing to Raito's PET. "It doesn't sound all garbled up and bugged like your Navi usually does."
"He's--!" Raito was cut off by Trigger.
"I'm Trigger, and we're here to settle a score!" Trigger told.
"Um, Trigger, she IS a friend..." Raito informed.
"Oh, sure, NOW you tell me," Trigger muttered.
"Come on in," Rina invited. Raito got up, brushed some dirt off of the seat of his pants, and followed Rina in. Rina's parents weren't home, but her 15 year old brother, Kuroji, was. He wore black cargo pants, a spiked collar, spiked wristbands, and no shirt, and had spiked black short hair and contacts that made his eyes look red. His body was athletic, but not muscular.
"Oh, Rina, you let that kid in. What, gonna let him eat all of our food and use up all of our toilet paper again?" Kuroji asked in a depressing voice. "Then we can starve and then wipe our asses with our left hands, like they do in some of the really bad parts of Netfrica. Or we could speed up the process and fill up the bathtub, get in, and take sleeping pills. That's the least painful and most effective way to be free of this plastic world."
Raito backed up a bit, but Rina was unaffected, being used to Kuroji's negative attitude. "Why don't you just DO something rather than mope around?" Rina asked.
"I'm doing my homework. Homework disgusts me. The oppression of school not only is complete while I'm there, but it follows me home as well, eating at my soul," Kuroji replied. "Someday, I should cut myself and write the homework assignment in blood to prove to the teachers that bloodshed is nothing compared to homework." Rina had already taken Raito into her room by the time Kuroji was done droning. "Yeah, turn your back on me, as the world has."
Rina shut the door. "You know, he's a cool brother when he's not talking about depressing and sometimes sick things. Which is never."
"Alright, Rina, time to Netbattle!" Raito told. "I'm NOT gonna lose this time!"
"That's what you ALWAYS say. Typical BOY talk," Rina sighed. "Oh well, I have nothing else to do. Plug into my PC. Plug in, Nona, transmission!"
"Plug in, Trigger, transmission!" Raito exclaimed.
In Rina's homepage, Trigger met Nona. Nona was his height, had hair just like Rina's but spikier, red, white, and black armor with short shorts and a helmet with a white visor, and dark green eyes. She gave Trigger a wink and a sly smile. "So, Raito finally got himself a new Navi. Too bad I have to beat the crap out of you before we really get to know one another." She then raised her fists.
Trigger was thrown off by Nona's tone of voice. This girl was intense, more than Meiru or Rina.
"Alright, Raito, countdown!" Rina informed.
"Three...two...one...GO NUTS!" Raito yelled. "Vulcan, slot in!" He then sent Trigger the chip.
Trigger summoned a Vulcan on his right arm and fired at Nona, who strafed quickly away from the shots. She then jumped, flipped in the air, and landed in front of Trigger, punching him in the gut. Trigger gagged, and then Nona punched him three some times, once in the face, once on the neck, and once on the side of the head, knocking him down. He quickly jumped back up.
"Area Steal, Sword, slot in!" Raito yelled, sending Trigger the two chips.
Trigger used Area Steal to teleport behind Nona, and then summoned the Sword on his left arm, slashing her from behind and knocking her down onto her stomach.
"Hammer, slot in!" Rina yelled, sending Nona the chip.
Nona summoned the Hammer on her right arm. She swung it, Trigger rolling backwards and the hammer breaking the panel he was on. Trigger fired the Vulcan, but no shots came out. He dispeled it and summoned his buster arm.
"TriggerMG!" Trigger shouted, rapid firing at Nona. Nona had just gotten back up, but recoiled from the shots.
"Hey, that default weapon's not bad, Trigger..." Raito commented.
"FirePunch, slot in!" Rina yelled, sending Nona the chip.
"FirePunch!" Nona shouted, doing an uppercut which summoned a fire punch below Trigger and knocking him up into the air. Trigger recovered from the impact while still airborne.
"MachineGun, slot in!" Raito yelled, sending Trigger the chip.
"MachineGun!" Trigger shouted, summoning the MachineGun on his right arm and firing, the gun tracking Nona's position. Nona dodged to the left, but skidded to a stop when she almost fell through the broken panel. That was all the MachineGun needed to strike Nona several times and force her to plug out. "Hah-HAH!" Trigger exclaimed, doing a victory pose.
Raito did the same pose. "I TOLD you I wouldn't lose!"
"Hey, Raito, don't take ALL the credit..." Trigger muttered.
"Yeah yeah, I know, but I'm caught up in the moment!" Raito replied.
"Now that you've had your fun, did do your homework for today yet?" Rina asked.
"..." Raito sighed. "Killjoy."
"Hey, get it done before dinner, if you can. Then, if you like, we can go on the Net later and bust some viruses or shop, maybe," Rina suggested.
"Alright, I'll e-mail you when or if I get my homework done," Raito informed. He then headed back to his house.
After Raito, Netto, Meiru and Kiruka had had dinner, Raito went to his room, having not done his homework yet, due to the fact that he wanted to test Trigger's effectiveness against viruses. He opened the homework assignment and looked over it. "Dammit, I hate homework. It always depends on both the operator and their Navi being dependable--hey. Wait, Trigger, I CAN depend on you, unlike that piece of junk!" Raito exclaimed. "The assignment is to find the Miss Mariko's Navi on the Net and answer her questions. The Navi is somewhere in the Akihara areas, and she's constantly finding new hiding places so that students don't cheat and give away her location. When you see her, yell "I found you!", otherwise she'll assume you're just a passerby."
"Alright, let's do this. Then we can go do something fun, I hope," Trigger replied.
"Plug in, Trigger, transmission!" Raito plugged Trigger into his PC.
"...Raito, do you ever empty your junk mail?" Trigger asked.
"I have JUNK MAIL?" Raito asked, sounding astounded.
"Free Hentai...Free Hentai...Free Hentai...Free Hentai..."Who Wants To Marry a Midget?"...Free Hentai..." Trigger told, looking at the subject of each junk mail.
"MIDGET?! Delete that one!" Raito told.
"What about the Free Hentai ones?" Trigger asked.
"Those...well, we should hang onto those to...report their addresses to those...you know, anti-junk mail things, or something," Raito replied. Just then, Raito got a new e-mail.
"Hey, a new one. It's from someone named Sasoku. You know him?" Trigger asked.
"Oh yeah, him, we hang out at school," Raito replied.
"Friends?" Trigger asked.
"A little. But really...WE'RE RIVALS!" Raito exclaimed, clenching his fists. "I can't stand him, always bragging about his operating skills and his Navi, Crashman. He's always gotta prove he's the best!"
"Sounds a lot like you," Trigger commented. "Anyway, the e-mail says, "Crashman's off to find Miss Mariko's Navi. How about a race, my Crashman against your junk data Navi? Loser pays for the winner's lunch at school tomorrow. ~Sasoku"
"I'LL SHOW HIM! I don't have a junk data Navi anymore!" Raito shouted angrily, his voice echoing through the house.
"Alright, I replied to him, accepting the challenge. I'm off!" Trigger told, stepping onto Raito's homepage teleporter that led to Akihara Area 1, and began searching. Before arriving at the first fork in the path, Trigger was knocked flying by an explosion. He landed back near the teleporter. "What the hell...?"
"Stealth Mines? No, Stealth Mines would've done more damage...wait. God dammit! That was a Crash Bomb! That asshole is trying to slow us down!" Raito growled. "Let's find him and show him that we mean business!"

It's off to a fairly decent start.
I only read a bit of your previous fic, but this one's pretty easy to pick up without knowing much of it.
There's some spots where the dialogue could use work and the whole thing seemed a little cliched, but it's entertaining enough and I enjoyed the character interactions.
I also liked your fight scene. Wasn't much strategy to it, but it showed rather well how they don't nessecarily need them, as long as the scene is well written and enjoyable. |
