Roll's amateur sprites

I do slight spriting off and on (mostly when I'm bored XD; ) so I decided I might as well put up what I've done so far. All...two of them. *sweatdrop* Anyway, like the topic says, they're amateur sprites ^^; Let's just say for these, there's....plenty of room for improvement ^^;...
(Sources included just because XD; ^^)

Anyway, enough rambling. First I thought I'd post in the winged sprite I did about a month ago. I don't know what it is, I'd just taken an X sprite and started doing things to it. Knowing me, I'll probably turn it into an RP character XD;...

I tried to make it bigger, but that just made it look weird x_X; I'll probably take a larger X sprite to start with and make this...thing again later ^^;

(Yes, he's only got one booster activated. No, I have no clue why XD; )

Lastly, for now, this is one I've spent the past two or so hours on. After looking through Kiruka's recent stuff, I got inspired to do my own Trill sprite, but I knew I couldn't work on something small... So I took an Iceman sprite from EXE 4.5, and crafted it into..well, into this:

I'm not entirely happy with the face or the way some lines look/meet (and you can't see his nose XD xD; ), so I'll probably go back and tweak it later. But, for all intents and purposes, this one is done...

You're going to have to teach me how to custom sprite when you become a master, because Trill there is exceptional. XD He looks extremely happy, I don't see what's wrong with his face, that's fantastic for a first try. Keep it up twinneh! =p

I'm really not digging the helmet...I think it needs to be bigger. It's showing too much of his head.

Also, you might want to try to smooth the lines out, it looks jagged.

The helmet might be why I don't like the whole face area... When I fix the lines later (yes, jagged lines are a problem of mine x_X; ) I'll tweak the helmet too *nod*

In other news, I saw N2-0 Night's work and decided to try my own hand at a Beasted Out Soul Unison (I hope you don't mind, N20 ^^; ). Figures I'd pick this one...

You can probably consider this to be a constant WIP. This is what I've got done after the first save; I'll probably go back later and edit the helmet bands, feet, wings, and several other places. Plus, it's still got a few traces of the base sprite I used, which I would link, but I think that'd be spoilers ^^; In either case, it was [spoil:71f8e37d7b]Aqua Beast[/spoil:71f8e37d7b].

Edit: Forgot to mention that I've got a handdrawn version of this, and once I complete the redesign, that'll probably be posted in my art thread.

Ooh, I like the sprites look pretty cool love^^*blinks*that red one looks strangely familiar ;P XDXD

You did a good job on the Beast Out Roll Soul, the bands don't look so bad though, I like how they came out all pointy like that...kinda look like whiskers or something XD

Uhmm... I think the Roll Soul one took me about 2 hours, give or take. *blinks* Actually, that's about the average length of time for any of my sprites XD;

As of late, I've decided to sprite some of the characters that I have in RPs with MegaLan. Today, it's two of the boys, Deiji and Legato. Deiji might be familiar to those who follow my art at DA; Legato might be familiar to those who read my LJ. Either way...

Deiji.

Legato.

The base sprites were one of Megaman from...EXE 6 I think, and one of Elecman from way back at BN1. A dark spot on the Deiji sprite's neck is supposed to be there; he's got purple spots on the back of his neck, and I put that in the sprite. And the Legato's hands annoy me to no end, but I'm through messing with them XD; So does his head, but I'll fix it later when I feel better than I do right now ^^;;

I think that Deiji could use more shading, he's not bad however the colours are a little too bright and don't work as well together as they could. I have a similar thought about Legato but less so for him. Otherwise they're nice works.[/img]

They look really nice twinny, although for some reason Deijis hair looks a little greenish, which is weird. It seemed fine when I saw it on DA.. Maybe it's just me oO;

Anyways, I love the effect, they seem like sprites out of games like "Another world" to me. XD Ahh, the very first attempts at 3D games waaaay back. <3 Either way, those really don't look like "rush jobs" =p

Indeed, the palette needs some adjustments, and maybe just a touch more shading applied... But aside from that, "they's pretty good".

You did a very nice job covering up the bases. I've seen a lot of sprites that try to look 'real world' (for lack of a better term) with an EXE or Zero base, and these do that fairly well.
