I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with this series, but...
Futari wa Precure (also known as Pretty Cure and Precure) is a magical girl series that replaced Ashita no Nadja's time slot in 2004. It revolves around two opposites, Misumi Nagisa and Yukishiro Honoka, two girls who have been granted the power of Pretty Cure to rescue the Garden of Light. With their cellphones (and mascots Mepple and Mipple), they both transform into Cure Black and Cure White, two powerful entities that fully rely on cooperation to defeat the Dark Lord.
The second season, Futari wa Precure Max Heart, introduces a new character named Kujou Hikari, who transforms into Shiny Luminous (with Porun). She is the reincarnation of the queen of the Garden of Light and must help Black and White defeat the Dusk Zone. Max Heart also has two movies throughout its airing period and the series just ended last Sunday.
The third season that just debuted last weekend is called Futari wa Precure Splash Star. It is a complete rebirth of the series (meaning the story starts over and in this universe none of the previous characters "exists") and the two new heroines are Hyuuga Saki and Mishou Mai. With the help of their mascots, Flappy and Choppy, they can transform into Cure Bloom and Cure Eaglet (Egret?).
Pretty Cure is very popular in Japan because it is unique from most of the magical girl series. Rather than fighting with magic and weapons, the heroines fight martial arts style, using their fists and feet to attack instead of magical girly weapons.
Ever since I found out that a new anime was replacing Ashita no Nadja, I became interested in this series. Max Heart is my favorite series so far, since I find it better than the first season. A lot of fans aren't really happy with the series rebirth considering Saki and Mai are practically carbon clones off of Nagisa and Honoka. I still think Splash Star is pretty interesting, since it's refreshing and using the same characters in my opinion would be boring. _________________ I'll remember that day, and I won't let it go. |

I have read Pretty Face, the first couple of pages of the first volume before. Can't help that I got cracked up when I read the fact that the heroine is actually [spoil:8d6fad64af]a guy who got into a coma and finds himself a girl after a year. XDD[/spoil:8d6fad64af] _________________
