So what if it's 2000? I bet no one's made a topic about it for a while.

I feel it's very underated, so are there any fans out there? I thought it was awesome, along with VI and VII. XD

Well, I enjoy all the FF games but IX was great for me. I really enjoyed the style of the characters and there were plenty of little minigames to complete. Plus, the Tetra Master Card Game was far more developed in it, even though it had less tangible rewards.

Necron was a bit...wtf though. Randomish pull there, they should have resolved Kuja's story a bit better.

Excluding the side games since I like a lot of them better than the main series, IX is my favorite... Mostly because of Vivi, those other people that follow him and pretend to be signifigant, Vivi and the story. Gameplay's not the best out of them IMO, but it's still pretty good and has that addictive card game. >_>

Oh yeah and Vivi.

The only thing I enjoyed about it was the music. I didn't like the art direction they took, or the designs for most of the characters. Glad they changed it in 10.
It didn't feel much like the previous FFs for me. I got a couple of hours into the game, but that was enough to make my decision of not playing it again.

Final Fantasy IX fans...just to let you know: "You're not alone!" That's the name of one of the songs of this game's killer soundtrack. But seriously, I'm also a FF9 fan. The story and introduction are fun and original, the gameplay is great, the soundtrack is awesome, the characters are likeable, and the ending is a masterpiece.

My favorite character is probably Blank.

Oh, and there are some really funny quotes in FF9. "Ooo...soft!" Laughing

that song freakin' rocks... i'm gonna hafta admit 9 is a really good FF game.. it's as good as 7 and it's awesome.. my fave characters are Zidane, Vivi, Dagger, Freya and Amarant :] plus it's got some funny moments.. especially this one..

I love that song too, it's one of my favourites.. along with the battle theme, Dark Messenger, and Freya's. The soundtrack fits beautifull with the game.

Woah, maverick, what's up with the text box in that screenshot? It's all.. zig zaggy. o.o

My favourite characters are Zidane, Kuja and Freya. Zidane's just too cute.. Kuja's very unique and Freya's just awesome.

This is easily among one of my favorite games ^^ I just love it, even though I..eh-heh, never finished it XD; But that's more the fault of my game disk than anything else (and why, no longer owning the old scratched copy, I need a new one x_X; ). I love Vivi, Zidane, and...heck, all of the characters to one extent or another XD ^^ The storyline's good, and I like the art style too ^^ And the music, especially the battle theme... *blinks and sighs* Yeah, I need a new copy of IX soon x_X;

Other great songs (in my opinion) include:
-Battle theme
-Boss battle theme
-Pandemonium, the Castle Frozen in Time
-Run!
The rest of the soundtrack still rocks, though. Those four and "You're not alone", however, are my top 5.

And other funny moments (spoilers) include:[spoil:e9e219ddd4]
-Anything Quina says or does
-Zidane and Garnet's first hug. Eiko's facial expression was funny.

-script
Quina: "Building have yummy shape! Must have fine cuisine inside!" *runs to Conde Petie*
Zidane: "Geez, all (s)he ever thinks about is food."
Garnet: "Well all YOU ever think about is girls!"

-When boarding an airship, the wind blows Vivi backwards so he has to stand behind Steiner.

-Garnet and Zidane jump off that roof in the beginning of the game. Steiner follows, but crashes into a wall.

BTW, is there a way (other than a cam-corder) to get footage for PS1 games? I don't mean ripping the FMVs, but a movie of the gameplay.

On the side note, long ago GameFAQs had one of their Character Battles. It was Vivi versus Donkey Kong. I was like "If I may quote Steiner: 'Go Vivi! You can't let that monkey boy beat you!'"

Ahh, I spent most of Summer 04 playing it with my cousin. That game was one of the best and funniest games I've ever played. Great story, and lots of funny moments and characters, I'm only right after Alexandria's destruction though, since I haven't seen my cousins since then. But I probably will again this summer, so I'll try to beat it then.

Well, there's no way that any FFIX character could've stood up to an FFVII one, because it's so hyped and overpopular. I'm not making fun of it, I love that game as well, but FFIX and the others need more love.

X is more popular than IX, christ. o.o

X had a great Level-up System and a nice Battle System in my opinion. However, my least favourite is probably VIII, I didn't appreciate the Draw System at all.

Well...what to say about FFIX...

I disliked it.

Well, not totally disliked, since there were some really good characters (Freya~ Vivi~), and the soundtrack was pleasant on a whole. However, I really didn't appreciate the story, since it seemed really contrived in the first two disks, then too WTF in the last two.

Overall, I enjoyed FFVIII more than IX, for some odd reason. Yes, VIII's plot is also lots of WTF, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I actually liked the Draw system, believe it or not. =o
