Footsteps - For Sol - Shounen Ai - possible Beast spoilers

I didn't come up with the couple, and please do not complain about it, this is a gift for a special friend.



Footsteps
----------------------

Pink and orange tints colored the sky, dying the waves with the beautiful reflection of the hidding sun of dusk. The shore washed repeatedly by the soft caress of the waves erasing the tracks left behind by crabs and star fish.

A different trail, however, remained almost untouched by the waves. Two pairs of footstep marks embebed in the fine and warm sand, going on for a long distance.

From a small bridge in the shore, two lovers smiled as they stared at the footsteps, their owners slowly walking their way along the sand, holding hands in gentle, yet loving silence.

"Why are they here?" The white haired one asks softly, his eyes fixed in the trail of footsteps left in the sand.

"Why are we here?" The other said, resting his head against the shoulder of his white haired lover. "Sometimes is nice to just walk away from everything once in a while, and just be with the one you love. Away from everything but the feeling that brought us together."

"Here I thought we were spying on them." Blues joked softly, wrapping his arms around his smaller lover, blinking as his eyes came across a change in the trail of footsteps. "Why is there only one pair of footsteps in that part of the road?"

"Because Forte carried him." Rockman smiled as he nuzzled against his partner, watching the figure of his brother and twin walk in the sand with Forte. He couldn't remember how long it had been since their former enemy became Netto's lover, he really didn't care. He was happy nonetheless, because Netto was happy, because Forte was happy. He smiled as he felt a gently kiss on his cheek, turning around to see his own boyfriend.

"How long have they been out?" Blues asked, looking back at the two lovers that now sat in the sand apparently watching the clouds and playing a game desciphering their shapes.

"Does it matter?" Rockman asked softly, "They're together, mindful of one another, isn't that all that should matter?"

"It is." Blues nodded and smiled, somehow, watching Netto and Forte sharing these moments made him feel as if everything was well in the world.

"Maybe we should let them be alone. Besides, you promised me we'd visit the new candy shop at Internet City." Rockman nudged his boyfriend, getting only a nod as reply. The two turned around to leave their respective Copyroids in the Hikari house and log back into the network.

As the sky grew darker, two figures laid comfortably in the still warm sand, the waves washing lightly at their feet. A teenager Netto held Forte's body against his, watching with a peaceful smile as the other slept calmly in his arms. Netto looked over his shoulder to the trail of footsteps that were barely visible anymore, his smile grew wider at the sight. The trails always together one with another, and those where Netto was being carried by Forte after a crab hurt his foot.

"Forte?" He spoke softly, brushing away the platinum blonde strands of hair from his boyfriend's face.

"Mnn?"

"It's late, we have to go. Don't want that copyroid of yours to run out of energy again, do you?" Netto smiled as Forte grunted, not very happy to be forced to leave just yet.

"Alright, I'm up." The red eyed navi stood up, stretching and mumbling softly. He looked around himself a little bit, trying to remember where they were exactly. The trail of footsteps caught his attention, making him grin mischeviously as he turned back to face his boyfriend.

"Oh no... what are you-- hey!" Netto blinked a few times as he felt the red eyed navi pick him up.

"You know what I noticed watching our footsteps?" Forte asked as he carried Netto around.

"What?"

"Your feet are bigger than mine."

Netto blinked a few times and blushed, frowning in a way that came far more cute than he ever attempted it to be. "You suck."

Forte chuckled and kissed the brunette, holding him close as he walked away with the one he loved, to the place they called home.

I beg to differ that you can't write for beans, Planty. This was a nice take on a somewhat...strange couple. I stilll think you did rather well, and hey, your intended recepient is quite happy, so it's indicative that this was a flagrant success.

Good fic. Part of it reminded me of the poem Footsteps. I understand Blues/Rock but Fort/Nett? Strange new territory there. Could of sworn he hated humans, but oh well. The fic was still well-written.
