Ashiato vs Ashioto

Ashiato (lit. foot-after) -> footprints, i.e., the marks left behind by a foot

Ashioto (lit. foot-sound) -> footsteps, i.e., the sound that your feet make when you walk, run, etc.

I only noticed it yesterday, after all the times I visited the song lyrics section before that -_-;

Yeah. Your translation of the song itself was really good. :]
I personally find songs the harder to translate than spoken dialogue.

The ashiato thing's actually a common mistake among learners. Much like the "kawaii and kowai" anecdote I heard a while back,
and that kirei-kirai-karai-kurai tongue twister my old sensei made us say...
