An Evolution for EXE

While I usually leave the gaming news to such sites as Rockman Perfect Memories, Atomic Fire, Megaman Network or Planet Megaman...there's some new revelations that may eventually have an effect on the anime.

It's clear by now that Battle Network 6 is the last in its beloved series, as confirmed by the creator Inafune. However, the most recent CoroCoro magazine has revealed a rather huge surprise. A new evolution of the EXE series!

To be launched in December of 2006, this new story of EXE will take place further in the future. Saying farewell to the original Netto and Rockman.EXE, a new boy and navi will be taking his place. However, the new Rockman may not even be a navi at all. It's described that the new hero will use a device much like the PET to transform literally into Rockman. This sounds a whole lot like the new ZX series set to release shortly.

Gone is the Cyber World as well, and in is the Radio Wave World. It's described as a place that much resembles the land the humans walk on, but that's about all we know at the moment.

Unfortunately, specific details such as the series title, the character's names, and battle system will be left a secret until next month's issue of CoroCoro. What effect exactly this will have on the currently running anime series of EXE is unsure, but if we hear anything you can be sure we'll let you know asap. :)

Huh. I guess that Capcom liked the Cross Fusion idea in the EXE anime series that they decided to have a similar idea in this new series, too. =P What's with the whole morphing thing all of a sudden now? First ZX, now this? XP

Interesting news! wow a new look for the EXE series now ^^. I also agree that the idea of transforming is very similar to the ZX series. Nonetheless, I'm excited about it too :D

I cant wait until the names are revealed. This sounds a little like the fourth season of, well.....digimon.

But Ill miss the old Rockman and Netto though.....

Ah, I remember about 10 months before EXE came out, I was so pumped up about it, doing research and all that crap, playing it up to Numberman's Stage before it came to the US... waiting 6 months after it came out to buy it. I was so excited, I loved it...

The anime came out and I became even more excited I downloaded the low quality episodes each weekend, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for it.

And then around Battle Network 4 and Axess everything turned crap for me, but I'm so GLAD they decided to change the take on the series, it makes me get that tingly feeling again. X3

I'm curious to see what rolls up.

I remember everything like it was yesterday, but it was really quite a while ago... XD

While I'm indeed sad about EXE ending; it would've been bad if it had became to much of a cash cow. The new series sounds interesting enough. I certainly like the new characters design. I wonder if the name of the series will be ____man.EXE. It is in the future of the EXE world correct?

While the BN series will remain my favorite, it'll be interesting on what happens when this series hits the shelves.

Having said that, the future of the anime is now in question. I doubt Capcom will continue using a series that no longer exists.

Honestly, I'm happy for the turn in the series. While we all love the original characters, I personally believe that the series was reaching a crossroads; should it continue or not.

With this new evolution, yes, we will be losing the characters that we love but they won't truly disappear. New characters may appear in their places but we should hope and see what this series may become. Who truly knows how this will become in the timeline of Rockman, but I believe it's a step towards something new and hopefully great.

Plus...I'm horribly excited for Rockman ZX, so this just makes my excitement grow and grow. ^-^

I still hope that if this kid is Netto's son, or at least decendient (Sp) and Netto is still alive, he'll make a Mother 1 + 2 appearence. (Calling the kid to give advice.)

It's already been confirmed that the story takes place hundreds of years beyond the EXE storyline, so chances of Netto being alive to give this unknown kid advice is unlikely... unless Netto pulls a Dr. Light from the X series or something... XD;

...Wow. All I can really say about this is it's really, really neat. I hope they cover some of the navis that we missed (Astroman.exe :D) or something similar.

I gotta say in that one picture with the kid's friends, That one kid reminds me of Gutsman. XD
