So, here's a new story I wrote for Firehedgehog's B-day. Enjoy everyone!

Chapter One- Flashbacks

Tired red eyes slowly opened and blinked. What was going on…? His body felt so tired, and yet so strong at the same time…how could that be? Wait, where was he? He slowly pushed himself into a sitting position and started to think.

/Flashback/

He quickly ran downstairs and out the door. His navi was berating him for being late again. But it honestly wasn’t his fault this time! His navi hadn’t woken up for some reason, which meant that HE hadn’t woken up in time. So now he was late. Absolutely great. He sighed and barely managed to catch the 9:15 metro to Sci-Lab. He was supposed to meet someone at 9:20 at Sci-Lab. At 9:25, he ran into the main lobby. The woman at the counter smiled at him.

“I’m sorry, the Doctor isn’t here. He told me you would come. Would you like me to take your PET and give it to the doctor when he comes?” He nodded and handed his PET to the lady. This was simply a check up for his navi. It wasn’t anything new.

He then walked out of Sci-lab and took the long way home to Akihara. While walking, he started thinking. World Three, Gospel and Nebula had been defeated. Everything was peaceful. But he couldn’t help but wonder what would happen next. How long would it take for another terrorist group to appear? What would their goals be?

He snapped out of this musings when he saw movement to his right. He turned and saw no one. He blinked then shrugged. It must have been his imagination. He continued walking home, but then again he thought he saw movement. He turned, but then felt a sharp pain on the back of his head and then saw black.

/End Flashback/

Hikari Netto rubbed his head as he felt a headache coming on. Suddenly, he paused as he felt something strange on his head. It almost felt like…

“No way, this can’t be…” he whispered. He caught sight of a mirror and walked over to it.

“Hell no…” Hikari Netto had fox ears and a tail.

Well...

Although I like the somewhat shocking ending to this work, this was really quite short. Nothing about it stood out, and it definitely felt more like the beginnings of a chapter, rather than an entire chapter in it of itself. Did you intend for this chapter to come out this way?

I did actually. I had originally designed to have several "chapters" per post. However, I only got the first chapter done before Fire-chan's b-day, so I posted that. The second one is getting pretty close to done.
