I was just watching the original series again recently.

When I got to episode 12 I noticed something about Sharkman's opponent.

It's Shin Getter Robo!

Holy crap! Heh those silly animators and their elaborate extras. Kind of like how Shining Man is loosely based off of Warrior of Love Rainbowman.

Not surprising, if you took at the Snakeman episode, one of the navi in survival seven is a redrawn version of the main character of the old Super Yoyo.
