Hello, all.

I was hanging out on #megaman-network the other night, when the wonderful folks there told me about a new Yu-Gi-Oh GX due out game for the PSP soon!

Apparently, the new game will be called Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Tag Force

There's not much info on the game yet, but from what I saw, the game has you battling against the characters from the GX anime. The game will use the official English card game rules, like many of the GBA games, and will have a VERY extensive collection of cards.

The main attraction is that the battles features 3-D cutscenes of the duelists making their moves, and the monsters attacking. They're all cel-shaded, and they look fantastic. (albeit a bit blocky)

There may be little info right now, but just like the show, this game is re-awakening the joy of Yu-Gi-Oh in me. If this game has online play, I'm sold.

Anyway, here's some references.

Konami's official E3 teaser site.

An image gallery posted on IGN.

Note that the cards have all their English text intact.

So, what do you guys think of the game?

Nice. I wish I had a PSP now. I love Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. I even have a T-Shirt of it. Maybe I'll get my hands on it some day. I hope there's lots of Bastion in it though, because he's my favorite character~

Personally, I wish this was for the DS instead of the PSP. I see the PSP as a console for games that actually need the advanced technology. This is a card game... it doesn't. The graphics improvements are nice, but Nightmare Troubadour covered those nicely (except for certain monsters, like Tribe Infecting Virus). This game actually disappoints me (I hope Judai (Jaden) doesn't get his random HAX wins, and that Manjyome (Chazz) uses Ojama stuff). I personally can't stand Judai, or most of the GX characters, so I won't be getting it, but if anyone wants to, that's great for them.

This looks to be a good improvement over earlier incarnations of Yugi-Oh games (that might not be saying much if AI isn't any better). One thing that made me laugh though... in the first ad I saw for it, English names were used for all but Asuka (Alexis).

On a side note... SHOU (Syrus) RULES!

That... has nothing to do with discussion of the game. e.e

Okay, GX may be fun... but it really sucks... Bastion's little chemistry deck would never work in the real metagame, and I really want to know what his original deck was like.

Infact, while I think alot of the decks are fun only a few of them are competitive. The only ones that have really seen competitive play are the Elemental Hero, Archfiend, and Cyber Dragon Decks.

I might be getting this though, just so I can run my Dark Magician Deck

I think that Shou's Vehicroid deck could work in the Metagame, if combined with other Cyber Dragon and Machine elements. For a while Steamroid and Drillroid were seeing play (and probably still are, in some places), and a deck with those and Cyber Dragons would be abusive, even after Limiter's re-limiting. I've been working on one, to great effect throughout other X games, so I think it works, certainly. Power Bonded Steam Gyroid= 4400 atk.

On a side note, DARK MAGICIAN DECKS RULE!!
