Megaman sounding squeaky...
Kid Icarus/Pit talking like Robin in the old Batman series (Adam West)...
A Mother Brain that talks like the next-door gossip...
A more mature Zelda and Link appearing every now and then...

Yep, those were the days *sigh*
That show's every Famicom/NES addict's dream come true.

Wow, I didn't know that. Nice. Now to hope the Captain Lou Albano Super Mario Bros. show can make it's way onto DVD as well. I'd love to replace my crappy VHS episodes that I still have. Yes, I'm that sad. "Swing your arms, from side to side"...c'mon it's time to get back on topic and off the Mario.

I did watch Captain N, but barely remember much about it anymore. I think Mother Brain and Wily were in cahoots often, but honestly I remember Kid Icarus more than anything from that show. Definitely plan to get that DVD to refresh my memory.

The Super Mario Brothers' Super Show IS on DVD already. Megawoman picked up a copy of it. The Zelda cartoon is on DVD too (she picked that up too). Just look. You'll find them.

Oops. Thanks for the info Zodiac. I knew about Zelda, but just saw now that Mario came out at the beginning of this year. With all these '80s and early '90s shows popping up on DVD recently, you start to lose track!

I loved this show when I was a kid. I remember taking the player 2 controller from my NES and tieing it around my waist and tucking the gun into my pajama's pocket on saturday mornings. Glad it's coming out on DVD. Yet another chunk of my childhood to purchase again (Transformers, Thundercats...).

Man, I am so buying that when it comes out on DVD. XD I haven't watched Captain N in YEARS.

A note to the Zelda DVDs, they come with blips of the Super Mario Show skits as well, so it's like a two in one package. :P

I loved this show, even though they never gave Game Boy a propor introduction episode... he was just there suddenly....

It was realy great that the Zelda cartoon voice actors reprised their roles in the few Captain N episodes, even though their characters are completely different. Loved Ganon in the Potion of Power episode.
Too bad Kevin never got back to the real world....

I'm too young to know anything about this show. (Don't take offense to that comment) Anyone mind telling me what it was about.

It's an old Nintendo show that played along with a Mario 3 cartoon. The story as I recall is that Video Land is being invaded by Mother Brain who assembled a team villains (King Hippo, Dr. Wily, and Eggplant Wizzard). Opposing her were Simon Belmon, Megaman, Kid Icarus, and Princess Lana (an original character), but they weren't enough, so they used this magic crystal ball to summon help. The help was Kevin Keene, a boy who mastered virtually every Nintendo game he got his hands on and he became known as Captain N. He uses a Zapper (the NES lightgun) and a controller on his belt that gives him bursts of super speed with the control pad, super jumping with A, and the ability to freeze time with Start. I don't recall seeing him use Select or B.

I'm so buying this DVD. Now if only the comics would be reprinted.

Game Boy had an introduction episode! He was sent by Lana's father the king, and I think the episode was even called Game Boy.

Hmmm. I believe many years ago I saw an episode. At the moment all I think I can remember is that short green guy, dancing with someone similar to him. I didn't make the connection to MegaMan (seeing as how I was three or four) when I saw MM2 and 3 being played. It was only on the MegaMan Home Page where I remembered the little green guy who, was actually, MegaMan.

It just occured to me that Captain N would be great on the Wii's Virtual Console. What I mean is, playing through the older games with him and his special controller powers.

Don't remind me of this show, I will never forgive for what they did to Alucard and Dracula. Not to mention Simon!
