Disclaimer: I don’t own anything but the plot line. Wish I could get paid for this.
Note: This is a GU and Games series crossover. I'm doing this since I'm back to obsessing with .hack and I can't stop thinking about it again. There will be spoilers just a warning of the upcoming GU games.
Chapter 1
To: Haseo
From: Ovan
Subject: Possible
There is an unknown entity and data increase in the area of Delta: Forgotten Twilight Guardian. Unknown it can be “It” or something close to it. For a party and do not go alone. The area itself is level 95. Too high for you “Terror of Death.”
(Flashback End)
“I would never expect a high level area in this sever,” a man wearing yellow cloths over his coat with his blue hair tied up to a ponytail and wielding a huge gun.
“Odd when this sever is suppose to be for levels 1-50,” a pink character wearing revealing clothing with her wave sign on her right shoulder and pushing her glasses up. “The system administrators never said anything about this.”
“Maybe the CC Corp knows more about this than they’re leading, Pai,” said the black and red armor Twin Swords.
“The CC Corp never hides anything from the Systems Administrators. We need to know what's going on to keep The World running smoothly,” Pai responded. “Though something is definitely odd about this dungeon, we haven’t encountered a monster yet.”
“Another player already defeated them? ” twin swords player theorized.
“That would be impossible, Haseo,” Pai responded. “I made sure I locked area just in case nobody could enter or exit.”
“Unless somebody is here already,” the yellow player said.
“Kuhn, shut up,” Haseo said. Kuhn raised his hands in defense.
“I could be right, you know,” Kuhn said.
Chime.
The group stopped as they heard the A note. And within them, their Avatars pulsed within them for a moment before silencing again.
“Did you feel that just now?” Kuhn asks the other two.
“Skeith, Magus and Tarvos reacted at the same time after that sound,” Pai said. “Almost like something is drawing them out. Or they're drawing something out from hiding.”
“That email from Ovan…” Haseo said. “Could it be…’It’ is here.” He ran deeper into the dungeon, not listening to his comrades. He just had to make sure…if ‘It’ is still alive.
ooOOoo
“It wasn’t supposed to be this way…get out of here!”
“You are a newbie, aren’t you?”
“Are you telling me you can’t see this nice looking bracelet? Even if you cannot see it, as long you know it’s there, it’s the same thing as seeing it, right?”
“With that bracelet, you will be treated as a virus.”
“Pig-heads aside…”
“Commence operation Breakwater!”
“I only exist in The World…”
"The passage of time is irreversible. Birth or Death. Only these two possibilities exist. Traveler, take this to heart. It is darkest before the dawn."
“Aura!!”
ooOOoo
Blue eyes open with in the darkness. The stonewalls indicate that he’s in a dungeon and that the Grotto statue next to him with the treasure box.
Was he doing a quest solo?
…He doesn’t remember.
He looked at his orange marking cloths, his backpack and his red hat. On the ground were two short blades. He is-without a doubt- a twin blade; one of the fastest classes in the game called “The World.”
And his name is Kite.
Kite looked his menu and skimmed down to Area Information.
Keywords: Delta: Forgotten Twilight Guardian
Level: 95
Area: Water
Odd, isn’t the Delta server fit for only levels 1 – 30?
“Didn’t Lios fix this problem already?” Kite asked himself. He decided to open the Grotto Statue. The Grotto Statue must be the reason why he’s here. Why else would he be here?
You received a Golden Grunty!
You received a Silver Grunty!
You received Secret: Voices!
“…That was some help,” Kite thought grimly. Since he doesn’t have a Sprite Ocarina, he has to walk all the way back up from where he started. He exited the statue room and proceeded down the empty hall. It was a bit too silent for Kite and something didn’t felt right. In the area, it just felt wrong in his opinion. Did he defeat the monsters in the dungeon before passing out?
“Huh?” He looked at his right wrist with a familiar item on it. “The bracelet…it’s glowing again…why?” he asked himself.
Chime.
Kite’s head jerked up to see a portal open up with a monster falling down from it. It was a giant three-headed dog that Kite remembers all so well. But this time, it had glowing hexagon around it. His eyes widened in shock.
“Data Bug!” he called out. The monster bared its teeth at the red Twin Blade before charging him to attack. Kite brought out his short daggers and prepared himself for the assault.
D3^(4
HP: $(#@*
All he could do now is the “Hit-and-Run” strategy and wait till the bug’s barrier finally falls and the "Portect Break OK" sign shows up.
“So it is you all along, Tri-edge!” a voice shouted from behind. Kite stopped and turned, face-to-face with another Twin Blade.

Very good
I'm a fan of the .hack games, watched a few of the old anime (before the chibi replacements) and I have to say that using Kite rather than the other "hero" was a nice touch
I hope you continue with it, I'm interested to see where you go from here _________________ Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight. |

Chapter 2
I didn't take an idiot to tell Pai and Kuhn that Haseo is furious. One the look on Haseo’s eyes tells it all. There’s no need to ask him. Simple as that.
The Tri-edge look-alike turned to them and moved his mouth but no sound came out. 'Tri-edge' just turned back to the beast and continue the assault at the three-headed dog. Haseo grip his blades but Kuhn stopped him before he could do anything reckless.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Kuhn said, shaking his head. “You’ll regret it.”
“Give me one good reason why!” Haseo demanded.
“Notice that, that Tri-edge isn’t a stitch up zombie?” Kuhn told Haseo pointing at the red Twin Blade. Haseo examined ‘Tri-edge’ again. Kuhn was right this isn’t Tri-edge at all it was somebody else.
But who? AIDA? Kite?
That is impossible. Everybody knows that the real DotHacker Kite is gone. In that case, who the hell is this guy?
The look-alike continues to attack with moves Haseo have never seen before. It wasn’t long till the monster howls in pain at last as a protective barrier appeared and shattered. Above it is an icon that said “Protect Break OK” the figure raised his right arm and a bracelet appeared. An all-familiar item the group remembers all too well.
“Nani?” Haseo said.
Beams shot out of the bracelet and hit the monster. The monster no longer has the glowing hexagons and its name and health point status return to normal.
Death
HP: 9,999
The player attacked again and this time, the monster’s health actually dropped almost immediately. That means the player’s level is exponentially high. In less than a minute, the monster stagger before falling, allowing the player to use a health drink to recover some of his lost health points and stood there motionlessly.
To Haseo surprise, the player turned and faces them with a questioning look. His mouth moved and yet no sound or whatsoever came out.
ooOOoo
Kite was curious why didn’t the group listen to him. He did notice the death glares from the red and black twin blade behind him watching all his moves during his battle with the Data Bug.
Though he was just lucky that it was just one Data Bug or else he’ll have trouble distracting two monsters at the same time. The pink player was the first to speak.
“This is Kuhn and Haseo, my name is Pai, one of the System Administrators of The World,” Pai introduced. “State your name and reason for behind here. This is a restricted area.”
“Don’t System Administrators suppose to have data on characters?” Kite asked. He was very confused when Pai asked him the next question.
“Why won’t you speak up? Unmute yourself in the real world,” Pai ordered. “I do not tolerate little games.” She added.
“I didn’t put myself in mute,” Kite said. To the party, Kite was just moving your mouth. The red and black twin blade, Haseo, was beginning to get ticked off by Kite’s mute act.
“Just pressed the stupid unmute button again you idiot!” he cried.
“But I’m not mute!” Kite protested. Then he realizes something. His cry was suppose to echo through the dungeon like Haseo’s and yet it didn’t. He tried talking several more time before he finally realized as well.
He’s really mute. And nobody can hear a single thing he could say.
“Answer us!” the twin blade said. Kite sigh in defeat even though he still couldn’t make a sound. He opened a chat window for the three and a message appeared.
Sorry, I wish I could talk butI can't for some reason. Gomen.
“Is this some of joke?” Kuhn asked. Kite shook his head in dismay and another message appeared.
I wish this is but I don’t like to joke around things like this. I don’t even know how I’m mute in the first place.
Kite wore a depressed look on his face.
“I can’t believe I’m actually mute,” he said though no words came out of his mouth. “Huh?” He looks down at his right arm as his bracelet began to glow again. “Why is this happening?” The glow turned to a near blinding bright light.
“What the hell is going on!?” Haseo cried. A sharp pain shot through Kite’s arm. He hadn’t felt a pain this painful since Blackrose destroy the first bracelet during the final battle with Cubia.
“Blackrose…” he mouth. To his surprise, golden rings surrounded him, forcing him to Gate Out of the dungeon.
“Chotto matte!” Haseo cried, he covered his eyes when the light became too unbearably bright. When it died down, Kite was already gone.

(Real World)
“His heart rate is increasing steadily fast!” one of the doctors called out in the room. On the emergency room, a young man in his twenties breathes heavily as the doctors try to steady the heartbeat again. A young woman waited outside of the room worried. A doctor walked out of the room and the woman stood in front of the doctor instantly.
“How is he? Is he all right?” the woman asked.
“He’s all right,” the doctor reassured. “From my theory, it seem like the young man was fighting or running from something in his dream but from the looks of things, he’s all right now and calmed down.”
“I see,” the woman said. The doctor checked his clipboard.
“This is very unusual,” the doctor began. “It’s the first time this had happened.”
“Can I see him?” the woman asked. The doctor moved aside from the doorway and gesture her in.
“Visiting hours will be over in five minutes,” the doctor said. “I’ll come back later on to check his health status to see any abnormalities.” The woman entered the room and closed the door behind her. The young man on the bed lies, breathing steadily and peacefully than he was just a moment ago. She went over and sat down at the chair next to the bed. She held his hand tightly.
“When are you going to wake up?” she whisper. “It’s rude to make a lady waiting.”
Silence was her response. She tried her best to hold back her tears, watching him lying there, helpless.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
The man on the bed just continued sleeping.

The plot is good, and I like where it's going, but the grammer seems a little warped. Make sure you proofread before posting. I really like the content though. This is pretty good for a ./ story, so I hope you continue working on it. _________________ The stars are projectors, man. Projecting our lives down to this planet Earth.

Yeah, never really did trust Microsoft Words with grammer correction. I should ask my friend to correct it for me after I finish a chapter.
It's sad the editing button is gone. T_T _________________

Chapter 3
In the darkness, data surrounded a lone figure in the darkness while data were being deleted and transmitted to a hidden area.
“Data avatars restoration at 10%,” it mutter with disappoint. “It can’t be helped with those ADIAs around. I could only hope for the best.” It worked alone in silence until it heard something like a loud explosion from afar. It stopped the work he was doing and terminated the link before turning around facing two disfigured warriors. Their armor were battered and broken, showing what looks like decaying flesh. Both characters raised their blades at the figure, moaning like zombies from a stupid old horror movie.
“What the hell Tri-edge do to you two?” the figure asked. The two haggard versions of the once great “Descendants of Fianna” charged to attack with a harsh battle cry hurting it’s ears.
“See ya, Jerks!” the figure cried, warping out of the darkness away from the dark versions of Kite’s former friends. The two ex-descendants stood at the spot where the figure stood and look for anything it has forgotten. When they found nothing, they left without a word, disappearing into the deeper part of the system.

There’s this one character that wore a bright color of red and from the looks of it he’s mute. Is that even possible?

A mute character? LMAO! That’s new, I wonder if he’s a hacker…

Re: This one character…
Where did you see him? I wanna ask him how he got mute in the first place. XD
Author: Kenji
Subject: Ack!
He’s no longer in the field I saw him. He looked kind of depressed about something. Oh well, good luck finding him.
Four days the ‘real Kite’ appeared and vanished before Haseo’s eyes. Upon Pai’s investigation, no players were in that field during those times but them three. Due to the fire two years ago, CC Corp lost almost all data regarding most previous users from the previous version of the game that they couldn’t find the original user of the Twin Blade “Kite.”
There are no clues to investigate in the real world. How are they going to find information in the cyber world besides the help of the BBS? Right now, it does look like a good place to investigate first. Haseo skimmed down the threads until he found an interesting thread.
Author: Takeshi
Subject: Information Trading Service in Dungeon
Anybody interested in any information regarding any rumors of the past? I would be glad to help you guys. But as for business, you’ll need exchange me something of something worth value. I’ll be at the lowest level of the dungeon of Delta: Hidden Unwanted Twilight.
Pkers, I love to see you guys try to get any information out of me.
Haseo reread the message again. This player sounds like he or she knows more than they bargain for in addition, an idiot. Maybe he should investigate; if this player is just bluffing then he would personally PK this player right on the spot.
ooOOoo
“This is a complete bull!” a PC cried at another. “You expect me to give you that item?”
“Unless you want the information I’m have for you,” the other PC said. The PC is a young brown haired teen with empty brown eyes and a child like smile. A Warlock, he is dressed in blue and black robes decorated with his wave pattern, and carries a small messenger bag on his left shoulder.
“You’re just some stupid player!” the PC cried, point at the Warlock with his blade.
“Even if you PK me, you won’t know anything in return,” the Warlock said. “Player Killers are simply dumb these days.”
“I’ll show you whose dumb!” the PC cried.
“Suvy Lei,” the Warlock simply said, the PC before him froze on the spot. “Whose the dummy now?” the Warlock asked.
“Urk…” the PC tried to break free of the spell while the Warlock laughed merrily.
“Sorry, tough guy but you can’t move while the spell is in effect and…” he looked pass the PC and look at the red Twin Blade behind him. “ I’ll do my busniess with him now, don’t bother coming back for any more information.” He walked past the Blade PC and look at the red Twin Blade eye-to-eye. “What kind of information do you want from me, Kite of the Azure Flame?”
ooOOoo
“Sword Dance!” Haseo ordered, attacking the one-eyed squid like monster. Another squid came from behind and struck Haseo with one of it’s tentacles. He jumped back away from the monster, using a Health Potion to heal his health points. Then he charged at the squid again, and quickly struck it with a fire elemental critical. The monster vanished, leaving no remains behind, allowing Haseo to take a break.
“Leave it to a stupid player to choose a dungeon with these stupid monsters,” he mutter. He took several more deep breaths before continue forward and watched out for monsters. He stopped again seeing there’s a fork on the road from where he stood and by the looks on the map, monsters are infesting every route and corner.
Which way to go…
He looks around, suddenly hearing footsteps coming towards his in front of him. The path before Haseo was a PC running away, frantic almost as if he saw a ghost or something.
“PK!” The PC cried. “Player Killer, Tri-edge!” he cried.
“…WHAT!?!” Haseo thought. He began running towards the direction where the Blade PC came.
ooOOoo
Haseo stood at the lowest level of the dungeon with a disturbed and annoyed look. There was no Tri-edge. No Kite. Only a lone Warlock.
The Warlock – which Haseo believes is Takeshi- notice Haseo standing in front of him. “Yes? What business do you want with me, Haseo-san?” he asked.
“You know who I am?” Haseo asked. Takeshi nodded.
“Yep, you are the Terror of Death, Haseo the PKK,” Takeshi responded. “Use to be level 133 until something happened to you that leveled you down back to level 1.” He then added before Haseo could ask him another question. “State your request for being here and the information you need. I will determine the price of your request.”
“Did Kite come here for any information?” Haseo asked.
“Sorry, I don’t release my client’s information,” Takeshi responded. “It’s their privacy and it would be really rude. I have their respect as they have mine’s.” Haseo grumble incoherent words quietly.
“Would you like to know some useful information about the PK, Tri-edge?” Takeshi offered.
“Everybody knows that all of his victims can’t log back into The World,” Haseo said. “And he’s an Player Killer every knows about in The World.”
“And Kuhn, Pai and I took him down days ago before Kite’s appearance,” he added mentally.
“Yes,” Takeshi said. “But do you want to know something else about him? Something about his past?” That caught Haseo’s attention almost immediately.
“Like what?” Haseo blinked when Takeshi held his hand out. “…Huh?”
“Business is business,” Takeshi said with a grin on his face. “Give me something of equal value in return and I’ll give you the information.” Haseo glared at the Warlock.
“I don’t have anything that’s rare,” Haseo simply said. Takeshi thought for a moment before looking up at Haseo again.
“All right, I’ll give you a minor discount for now,” Takeshi said. “I’ll look for an item I want and you have to find it for me, deal?”
“…Fine,” Haseo said reluctantly.
Takeshi smiled. “Great! But if you don’t, I’ll tell the whole world the great ‘Terror of Death’ can’t pay up his debts. The log proves it.”
“In other words, I’m being black mailed,” Haseo thought. “Can you just tell me about Tri-edge now?”
“Tri-edge,” Takeshi began in a dramatic and serious voice. “First appeared just right after Aura and the dot-hackers disappearance in first version of the game almost between the time of the fire at the CC Corp. There are two possibilities of who Tri-edge really is.”
“What is he?” Haseo demanded. Takeshi continued to smile.
“The Old God of The World or he’s the shadowless one,” Takeshi said mysteriously.
“Shadowless one? Old God? What the hell are you talking about?” Takeshi ignored him by turning to the wall on his right. Haseo wasn’t prepared for Takeshi’s sudden reaction.
“Damn it!” Takeshi cried before turning back to Haseo. “…I forgot about my report and it’s due today. Sorry, I gotta go.”
“Wait,” Haseo cried.
“I’ll email you the item I want later on,” Takeshi informed. “And if you want more information of anything, I’ll list another rare item for you to find.”
“O-oi!” Haseo called. Familiar golden rings surrounded Takeshi, signaling he left the dungeon. By the time Haseo Gated back to town, Takeshi had already logged out.

“That was fun, mom!” a young girl with red hair and eyes, holding a teddy bear. “Let’s go back to the carnival tomorrow!” Her mother laughed at her daughter’s antics.
“Sorry, Mirei,” she said. “But you have school tomorrow and I have papers to fill for my boss.” Mirei pouted.
“It’s boring…” she said. “Ever since the new version of The World came out. Nothing’s the same.”
“Honey…” Mirei’s mother began. “The world we know it no more, Mistral and Mireille doesn’t exist anymore, and it’ll be best to let our avatars rest.”
“All right mommy,” Mirei said sadly but her mother quickly changed the subject.
“Now go wash up,” Mirei’s mother said. “Dinner’s in thirty minutes, I’m making spaghetti tonight.” Mirei’s eyes brighten, and then she ran down the hall screaming “Spaghetti!” Her mother laughed softly as she made her way to her computer and switches her computer screen on. An urgent email flashed on her screen. She double clicked it and read the message.

This is a rather interesting story. It's made me more interested in the new .hack series than anything else.
Pacing's fine to me, and you might want to check how you portray Haseo. It's late to be saying this but when you presented him last chapter, he reminded me of an annoying ignoramus. Probably the anger spaz I've been noticing from other things. |
