Just saw the press release at the Tales Channel.
The gist of it is that they didn't think they would be able to release the game with the desired quality by June, so they're moving the release date. The pre-orders made thus far have been considered cancelled.
Apparently they had delays as this was their first Tales title for the DS.
While it's still unknown, Bandai-Namco has assured that it will be released within 2006.
Personally, I don't mind, as long as I can buy a DS Lite on the same day I'll buy Tempest _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Thank God, because the game looks horrible. I hope they'll consider switching the character designs in favor of something more original and less crap. |

That's a little inflexible and ignorant of you. Just because you don't like the designs doesn't make them "crap". It's the gameplay and story that count more at any rate, so try to be a little more mature about it please. _________________

I heard that the song ''VS by Misono'' is the theme song. Is that right? If that's so, it rocks XD. (for the japanese version that is) _________________

Well, he could've stated it in a way that made that more clear probably in the first place, but that was just his opinion...
Anyhow, I agree with him. I've only liked one out of all the character designs and descriptions so far, and characters/plot are one of the bigger factors for how much I enjoy an RPG generally.
Gameplay can make up for that, but it hasn't looked especially interesting to me either... I've recently started getting in to the Tales series though, so I'm still gonna try it out if I can and hope I'm wrong. |

I think by "quality" they meant "with all the promised features and no bugs".
The battle system's fixed.
The character designs are fixed.
Though I personally prefer K.Fujishima's character designs over M.Inomata's, I intend to get Tempest to see how much of the NDS features they used. What they did with Symphonia for the GCN was amazing, IMO (the PS2 port actually looked more grainy).
Still, if you're after the eye candy, just a reminder: the NDS is not a PSP.
Oh, yeah. I agree that the char designs for this particular game are... -_-; compared to her earlier works.
Heck, her work in ToD is the ONLY work of hers that I liked 100%. _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Oh please, my point was that judging something on it's looks only is ignorant.
I definately prefer the GCN version of ToS but that's neither here or there. It will be nice to have a DS Tales game. Yes, most of us (myself included for your information) don't like the art style as much as other games, but there's more to a game than visuals.
Tales games have some nice soundtracks as well, so I hope they do the DS version some justice there too. Being a musician it's something I notice~ _________________

The game doesn't look half bad, now. After the two new videos I was finally excited about it as the battle system and anime cutscenes look fantastic. The scenes look almost as beautiful as Destiny 2's (PS2). Knowing the series, I'm sure it'll prove to be at least an average RPG (For me, at least).
Unfortunately, the story seems annoying from what I read. Another damn racism-related game =\. What's worse is that it's another human/beast-people theme... I certainly had enough of that with Rebrith. Though, I guess it can't be a Tales game without some racism, seeing as there's a theme of racism in all but one game.
Inomata's designs look better animated, in my opinion. Though, Arria still creeps me out... I like Inomata's earlier work a lot more than Fujishima's earlier stuff, really. Since Rebirth, Inomata's style has gotten quite strange, though (the eyes...). Overall, Abyss has my favorite set of designs, they're a huge improvement on Fujishima's part, in my opinion. Though, it is my favorite game...

The PS2 port is horrible. The graphics aren't the worst part, by far. The load times are horrendous, as they didn't reprogram it well at all. Abyss was unfortunately programmed in the same style (Same team did it and for some reason they programmed it in a style more suited for Gamecube), which makes the load times pretty long, but not nearly as bad as Symphonia-PS2's.
