I started playing the BN series at BN2, and I've played it up until 4 so far. I've seen BN1 in a game shop and it's pretty cheap, but is it worth buying?

Yes, for several reasons:

First, you get the full story. Rockman's backstory is in this game. Why not experience it for yourself?

Secondly, the -original- WWW! The best kind. :)

Third, it's a really fun game, and the first in the series. I wouldn't deny yourself this game.

Fair warning, none of the internet is labled for you. This is the main thing I dislike about the game. Eventually you will learn what is what, though. After battles, your HP is refilled, something a lot of people wish stuck around. XP And the Rockbuster has two levels of charging, much like the X Buster.

If it's not very expensive, I'd grab it.

I highly recommend it also.

BN1, for the story. It shows the first adventures of the series, and yes, it explains the significance of the bond between Lan and MegaMan. Without it, you'll probably be confused when Lan refers to "Hub." At least it is explained there.

Raijin: I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I don't think this thread was asking for guides. You seem to try to plug something in every post (or a great deal of them) and that's against this forum's rules. Tone down the spam, please.

Hm, I guess I do. I didn't realize it was so noticable.

But it still feels pretty crappy the way nobody here knows about my sites despite all the advertising I try to sneak in. It's like no matter how hard I try to supply something the community wants, they just don't want it. It's like I'm wasting my time doing anything on the net. I'll hold off on the plugs, but it'll be painful for me.

I don't know if you have your own site, there's none listed in your profile, so I don't know how to compare it. I guess imagine you were at another forum where everyone was asking for information on the EXE anime all the time, no matter how often you mention REO, wouldn't that feel kind of rotten?

Well, everybody wants recognition for their work, don't they? Am I really so much of an ass for just not wanting to be ignored? Dedicated two years to something and nobody even remembers it, and I'm not even allowed to try and remind them.

It hurts, damnit! It really hurts...

Ahem... I think we're getting a bit out of topic here?

---

Anyways, yes I'd recomend you to adquire BN1 Not only story wise but it's also the best way to make sense of the upcoming releases since they tie to things that happened in the first game.

I've had websites. I've had nobody visit them. Every site I've made to date is currently dead. It happens. I go on with my day/week/month/life. In any case, we're taking this way off-topic, so this should be the end of it. I can't be responsible for you measuring the quality of your life based on internet reputation or site hits.

Feel free to link to specific things on your site if and when it's on-topic to do so. But try not to just plug the site in general. :/

Very well said PO. I would recommened it too, because it would be like playing a Megaman NT Warrior GBA game. The real World Three is on there I believe and you should grab it.

It hurts that you just compared that to an "NT Warrior GBA game". :P

BN1 is my favorite in the series, and I'd recommend it for sure. :)

I recommend it. BN1 has a great storyline about the 1st WWW and how Rockman/Megaman was created. I also love the 2 level charge of the Rockbuster. A shame it's been taken out from the games after BN1, but not sure about Transmission.

The very garbage parts of this game is no labels. Ugh! The only way to get around easily is by looking at maps. Also, there's no * code chips and the ADD function is garbage as well compared to later games.

i'm in the middle of playing it, the only thing that hurts is that you can run away if you want to, its like you must fight whatever pops up, si i kill he too many time to date, even if the hp comes back...

Okay, sorry for the drama queen act, I'm prone to it sometimes. At least I work through it fast.

Usually I do just link to something as a direct answer to a direct question, but Valtz mentioning the maps just set me off for some reason. I just hope you know how hard it can be to resist temptation to plug sometimes.

Before I read Valtz's post I did have a more on-topic comment to add, but then I forgot it. It was something about BN1 being the greatest game in the entire series and you should get it just because it has Skullman. Something like that. Well, it's already established that BN1 is well worth getting, so I'll just leave it at that.

Are you sure there is a good map in the gamerfaqs? I looked at there and I'm lost in the game trying to find shadowman even with the map. THe map doesn't look complete to me unless I'm doing something wrong.

Well, that's a specific question, and I can use a link to give a specific answer so...here. http://www.planet-megaman.com/mm3/Guides/mmEXEguide/map11.shtml
If you can't find Shadowman in the marked spot, then that probably means you don't have enough chips in your library yet.

You could actually get lost on the Internet in BN1. One of my favorite things. Plus you could have 10 of any chip in a folder, and five of the same navi. Mmm...PaladinSwords galore.

Uh, yeah because like PlaguedOne said you get the full story. You also start off at a pretty easy difficulty in 1 as well. :]

I'd recommend it, mainly because since it's the oldest one, it's getting harder to find. I killed my selve trying to find it
